Poor communication meant I had to cancel and they did not help me move. In November I requested a quote via Yelp for my in-town move. They quoted $175/hr and sent the owner's number. When I called to follow up on 11/24, his voicemail said he receives texts at the number too, I texted and he quoted $195/hr. When I asked him about the disparity he said we could go with the lower rate. In our initial conversation I explained that we were supposed to close on our house December 18th and wanted to move December 19th. I did note that when buying a house there are many moving parts so there was some concern that we might not be able to close/move on time but told him that I'd let him know as soon as I knew for sure and he was fine with that. 12/12, one week before the move I text the owner telling him we're on track to close on time and that I want to confirm we're scheduled for the following Saturday 12/15 I text the owner again and leave a voicemail, no response 12/16 I text the owner and leave a voicemail, my wife also calls and texts, at noon I text that if I don't hear back by 1:00 I'll need to find another company I found another company, still haven't heard a word from him. It's entirely possible that we were on his calendar and he would've shown up on time Saturday and is just terrible with communication, but after going four days without any confirmation, I couldn't risk not having a mover show up. I truly hope everything is ok and that I'm not bashing a business that had a valid reason for ghosting me, but until I hear otherwise from the owner, I can only guess. read more

Dean Moving - Safe and reliable , worth every penny ! - Movers Near Me

I'll stick to the facts: - We were moving in August this year - We'd agreed on terms and everything seemed reasonable - Two days before the move, I contacted Kyle and ask is they were going to wear masks while inside our current residence. - The night before the move, at ~9PM, he confirmed that he would not - I asked if I provided masks, if they would wear them indoors - Kyle cited that the day would be too hot to wear masks - I had to fire them at 10PM the night before (this is not okay to me and I did not feel good about it) I want to be clear, I looked up current Health & Safety codes and regulations for movers in NY during the pandemic. This was confirmed by my sister-in-law who works in HR. There's no exemption stipulation for weather conditions. They're currently required to wear masks while inside your home if they're licensed. I talked to other moving companies in the area and hired someone two days later who could slot us in. All of the other licensed companies I talked to said they were at least wearing masks while inside the residence. This should not be a question that has to be asked, but I'm glad I did. Maybe others don't care, but for anyone else who needs their movers to be compliant with current safety measures, this review is for you. read more

They ghosted me. Dean was fairly quick to respond to email and text, had reasonable rates. And good yelp reviews! They use a truck, and bring moving blankets. Sounded good! I made plans with them and was relieved to have help lined up. The day of the move, they seemed to be late. Not a big deal, we were a bit behind on packing! 45 min after I expected them, I got a text from them. Their morning job had turned out to be much bigger than they had planned, and they might be 2-3 hours later. Okay, I responded, and gave them an additional number to text when they were ready. They never texted again, never showed, never apologized. I had to scramble to make other last minute plans. It was a small job for them, moving a disabled client. To me, it was a big move, and difficult to coordinate. I don't know what happened, but I was left without the help I'd booked. read more

I've been wanting to leave a review for a while now. Finally getting around to using Yelp again. But , Dean moving is good yes I thought in communication , showing up on time but in the end I had some broken items and felt they were very over priced ! To be fair I did not compare Pricing with other moving companies so I am Not sure but $195 hr seemed very high to me considering the broke items , the helpers weren't particularly professional just young guys moving stuff. No uniform or even a company T-shirt on. They did wrap items in blankets and packed the truck in such away that they tried to get everything in one load so that was nice. But again I think I would Look around to check pricing etc if I would offer a suggestion. But the truck looked nice and wasn't beat up , it gives a good impression. Just wish I didn't find some of my items broken , so far it's been 3 read more

Team Dean moved my best friends household from Tonawanda to Orchard Park yesterday in the cold rainy weather! They arrived on time and after assessing the situation, got right to work methodically, efficiently and quickly. The owner and two men were friendly and considerate of our gaggle of senior women who were assembled to assist our dear friend on her moving day. I was amazed at their precision and professionalism. The fee was surprisingly low (in my opinion) I am recommending Kyle Dean and his team with the highest regard for their professionalism, skill, and price!! read more

The guys were right on time and super quick with moving our furniture. Super reasonable price wise! Would definitely hire again!!

These people moved me out of my storage lockers at Public Storage and back into my garage at my residence way back in March, 2020 just before the start of Covid. The three guys are workers. They had to cut off my locks at my storage area and grind of another one. They do a great job. They don't waste time and give you every bit of your monies worth. They brought my stuff from my two storage lockers to my garage at my home. They helped me put a large number of items out to the curb, then brought my stuff in from the storage lockers and arranged it neatly in my garage and covered it in plastic. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. They are well worth the money. You can't go wrong hiring them. They really do a great job. read more

I must say that Dean Moving is, hands down, the best moving company that I have ever used. I have moved to several different locations for work over the past decade and they made the entire process effortless. Kyle responded immediately and gave me a quote and set up the moving date with ease. They are bonded and insured and have all equipment on hand. They gently moved all of our belongings easily and were meticulous in their technique. They also were very fast and efficient without sacrificing care. On top of all of this, they were in constant communication letting me know ETA and progress. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could and will be using them again/recommending them to everyone. Thank you. read more

I didn't hire them, but I should have. The other company was good, but their movers were somewhat careless. If I have to move again; I will call Dean's. I am recommending them to anyone I know who needs movers. read more

My wife and I had a bad experience with this guy. He showed up with a truck that was too small for the job. Told us he would return after the first drop off and then never came back to finish the job. We ended up hiring other movers to finish. read more

The team was great. They moved everything from mom's apartment to a storage shed and even discarded some items for us. They were very nice, easy to work with and professional. It made this somewhat emotional task less stressful. I recommend Kyle and his team. read more

Dean moving moved my family from Lockport to Chapel Hill NC. Kyle explained all the costs thoroughly. He was punctual and quick. All my items were secured but accidents happen. My TV and stand were damaged. I reached out to Kyle and he apologized and we agreed on the replacement cost and he sent us a check. read more

I just had a great experience with Dean Moving. I had some furniture and boxes going to a storage unit. I used Yelp's Request a Quote feature to ask for quotes from 4 local movers. One didn't respond for a few days. Of the other three Dean wasn't the least expensive by the hour, but had the shortest minimum (2 hours). I was pretty sure it could be done in that, but Kyle assured me that even if it took longer overages were charged by the minute, which I thought was very fair. The move was scheduled for four days later and Kyle and two other young men showed up right on time with a plenty big enough truck. They got right to work, and even handled an out of the blue request I thought of just before they arrived - moving a washing machine from the garage to the second floor. The load out, washer moving, trip to storage, and loading the storage unit took them 2 1/2 hours and I was charged just as Kyle had said. If I'd gone with the company with the lower hourly rate, but three hour minimum I'd have ended up paying more. The storage facility manager said Kyle had moved other people in/out in the past and he always did a good job. I'll definitely call Kyle next time I have a move. read more

Called for an estimate, but will not be pursuing for my move across state as it was out of our budget. However, compared to other moving companies, I would have felt most comfortable with Dean Moving. Supporting local and he was very trustworthly. read more

Kyle was very responsive returning phone calls and agreeing on a date and time. (Actually the only moving company out of 6 that I called that actually called me back) His team arrived on time and did everything we discussed in the agreed upon timeframe. His team did a great job handling and wrapping the furniture properly for transport as well as unloading at the new house. I would recommend Kyle and his team to anyone looking for help moving. read more

Kyle and Connor recently did a move for my mom, from her one bedroom apartment in Amherst, and I cannot say enough good things about this company and these lovely young men. Polite, super fast, cheerful, efficient and extremely competent, the guys did an amazing job, and went above and beyond to take the best care of my mom. I cannot recommend Dean Moving highly enough. My Mom was so nervous about moving, and Kyle and Connor made it a great experience. Zero damage, great pricing, and great attitude. Thanks, Guys! read more

Highly professional, super efficient, extremely careful. Dean Moving just moved me several hours from Buffalo NY. Moving is so stressful, all the packing, and sorting, and work associated with moving your entire life from one place to another just wears on you. Plus, you have to worry about turning over all your stuff to a stranger, hoping they will care for it as much as you do. Enter Dean Moving. They relaxed me from the first phone call until the last box was unloaded and put in place. The owner, Kyle, was confident that he could handle the job, and even agreed to do it all in one (long) day. On moving day, he and his crew were prompt, their equipment was in great shape, and they were ready to work. After a quick tour of the place to identify priorities and potential difficulties, they went right to work. They worked steadily, and without complaint for three hours. As silly as it seems, their good attitude, and friendly nature made me feel much better about the move. They took exceptional care of my belongings, probably more care than I could have mustered after a couple of hours. Unloading is always faster, but they were no less cautious with their work. Even after 15 hours of work, they were cheerful, friendly, and pleasant. Every item was placed in exactly the right spot, and they offered to move anything from one room to another if I had any second thoughts. If I ever move again, I will call Dean Moving without hesitation, and will work around their schedule if they are busy, which, as word of mouth spreads, is sure to happen. read more

I have used Dean Moving twice in the last 6 months to move from my house to storage and storage to my new house. I have nothing but good things to say about Kyle and his crew. They are very efficient and professional. Masters at the puzzle of making everything fit both in the storage unit and on the truck, thus reducing the number of trips. Great attitudes as well..never made me feel like I was asking for too much or bothering them. Definitely care about what they're doing and in providing great customer service. Would highly recommend them for your move! read more

If anyone knows me, they know how particular I am. After interviewing 14 moving companies, I chose Dean moving because the owner, Kyle Dean impressed me the most. When someone is moving my families life, I sure was not looking for the cheapest but for the best. They were very, very competitive. They wrapped and covered things that I told them not to worry about and their response was, "I treat your things like they are my own" I could not have been more satisfied with the professionalism of the whole company. I have moved many times and Dean Moving by far was the best moving company I have ever dealt with. Thanks again. read more
