My family and I moved into our new house last week and we decided to using a moving company this time. After doing a ton of research and calling so many different places, I searched online and found J & J movers. I read all the amazing reviews and decided to give them a call. Joe (the owner) answered and I explained to him that we had less than a week before we were going to close on our house and we needed a moving company to help us move. ( every other company was extremely booked but Joe made the time to get us on his books). The very next day he was at my house to get an idea of how much stuff we had and how much it would cost to do the job. He gave me a quote ( it was very reasonable for the amount of stuff we had). He followed up in the days leading up to the big move. I was extremely nervous to move but he truly put my mind at ease. The day of the move, I had 3 guys and 1 large truck pull up first thing in the morning. Nick was in charge of our move. He was very personable. He went in with the other 2 guys and they took inventory, started wrapping our items up in the blankets they have and the stuff was on the way in the truck. They were extremely pleasant to work with!! They told us if our item was broken, damaged or fragile before they even touched it, which I knew a few things were because they were older pieces of furniture. They took the time needed to get every single item in that truck. Nick was playing "tetris" in his head over and over again to get it all in one trip to save us money. I'm telling you, he is a wonderful person because he literally got it all on that truck in one trip! (It was a lot of stuff, big and heavy stuff too) I should also mention they lifted our items like they were as light as a feather and took every step to make sure they didnt dent a wall or hit anything along the way, both at our old house and the new house. They take apart items that need to be taken apart and put everything back exactly the same way they found it. They placed everything exactly where we wanted them and truly treated our stuff as if it was there own. I highly recommend this company to anyone. They are family oriented people, you will notice this the moment you meet them, and will do everything they can to make sure you are 110% satisfied. I should also mention, the blankets they use are super clean, and in perfect condition. The trucks are extremely organized and also very clean. Back in September, 2018 the gentlemen from J&J moved my youngest daughter from Allentown to Williamsville. The job was great as my post attested. So, a few weeks ago my oldest daughter says she has to move. She too lives in a 3rd floor walk-up. I talk to the wife, I tell her, "i'm getting too old for this s*^t!" I figured I'll take a shot with J&J Movers again. There is one minor fly in the ointment though. My oldest daughter lives in Syracuse, NY! I figure they are not going to come all the way out to the land of the Orange from Bulls territory. I make the call, talk to Joe. He says he is swamped with other customers (I also gave him short notice too.) and says that he could fit me in around the middle of August. I said, no good her lease is up on the 21st of July. We hung up and I started to feel the pain in my back and legs already starting. Two hours later Joe calls back. He says that he re-worked the schedule, had a cancellation and that he can come to Syracuse! I dropped to my knees, praised the 'big guy' upstairs and thanked him! July 21st, the boys show up with their great smelling quilts and spotless truck at precisely the hour they said they would. Also, it was raining to beat the band that day. We set out bagels from Long Island, cream cheese, my wife's homemade strawberry jam and coffee from DD. They said they wanted to get a start on the little bit of stuff that my oldest daughter had. My oldest is NOT a budding hoarder as opposed to her younger sister. They had the entire place packed up and in the truck in less than 3 hours! Then they dug in to the bagels. But they were not done. Since my oldest was technically homeless, her stuff was brought to a storage unit about 5 miles away. The boys from J&J removed everything from the truck and put it in the unit just perfect! Still in the rain no less! We present the bagels and coffee and a little extra for the trip home for the gentlemen and send them on their way. J&J Movers went out of their way for me a few days ago coming all the way to Syracuse, NY to help me in a time of need. I will NEVER forget that! Their people treated us with dignity and respect and actually as family! Sometimes words escape me, not this time! If you live in western NY you are fortunate to have J&J Movers nearby. 5+++ STARS There's a feeling of satisfaction I think everyone recognizes--usually at a performance, or a good restaurant, or the like--where one finds one's self experiencing true professionalism, understanding, and skill. I admit, I didn't expect to encounter this feeling while moving to a new house, as there's so much stress involved. And yet, that's one of my main takeaways from our move with J & J Movers. We just completed a move with J & J and have nothing but the highest praise to offer. I met with Joe a month before the move and he reviewed our needs and put together a strong estimate. Joe and his crew showed up at our place in Bflo right on time, and moved everything with utmost care and efficiency. His crew are all courteous, friendly, and hard-working (and they clearly get along wonderfully with each other). They treated all our possessions with great care, from delicate paintings and kilims to furniture to electronics. (Note: we've unpacked everything, now--absolutely ZERO damage or loss.) Stage 2 of the move, the unloading, was as smooth as stage 1, with the crew moving things around as we figured proper rooms/positions for many items. Moving homes, by definition, brings out all sorts of stresses and anxieties, and Joe and his crew eased our concerns all along the way. Just amazing. For all who are wondering, J and J feels like family! From the moment they pulled up and walked in I felt like I made a great decision in choosing J & J. Their Jovial, friendly manner and down-to-Earth personalities were a wonderful beginning! They packed and carried everything like it was their own. They double checked with me about that should stay or go and even offered to toss unwanted items in the nearby dumpster! The company also will take certain unwanted items like dressers, chairs, tables, etc. and donate to others in need!! LOVE IT!! They were so efficient and have such a great relationship with each other as well! You can see that this company prides itself on relationship building as these guys are invested in the company and each other because the company invests time in them. This stems right from an owner with amazing insight in how to treat people right-who comes by it honestly as his dad actually established the company!! I used J&J movers on 8/16/19. My search for reliable movers started about a month ago. Never hiring movers before, I was a bit overwhelmed and unsure who to use and what to expect. I reached out to two companies before I found J&J Movers on yelp. Speaking to the owner, Joe, immediately made me feel at ease. He gave me a quote, reassured me that the movers could take apart furniture and assemble it at the new place (I rent, so it's hard for me to own a lot of tools, and I am not handy). He scheduled the movers for my preferred day and touched base with me about twice before the move. On the 16th, the movers arrived before 8am (which I knew because Joe told me the arrival time). The three movers wasted no time (I believe their names were Nick, Chris and Cole). They immediately started hauling boxes, chairs, couches, bookshelves, large dresser and taking apart my bed frame in record time. Before I knew it, all my belongings were loaded up on the truck and ready to be transported to my new apartment. Once at my new place, they unloaded the items swiftly, asking me where I would like everything placed. They even offered some advice on where certain items would work best with the layout. They were friendly and personable, but also worked every minute to make sure the move was efficient and timely. The price was beyond reasonable for the amount of work this saved me. I cannot speak more highly of J & J Movers, and it's owner Joe, for the service they provided me during my recent move from downtown Buffalo to Orchard Park. Let me explain: Joe and a crew of the most extraordinary polite, hardworking, gentlemen arrived at my downtown home sharply at 7:50, the time that we agreed the day would begin, and immediately began working. They prioritized all of the items in my home in careful order so as to load the moving truck in a way that would not cause damage to my belongings. Joe and the crew worked swiftly, completing the entire load well before I thought they would. As they drove to our new home, they were kind enough to make a detour at a furniture store to pick up items we had purchased for the new home to load into the truck (FIVE STAR!!!). When they got to the new house, they took all of the time and care to assist me in positioning (and repositioning, and sometimes even again after that...) to ensure that my home was set up to my standards (Joe literally fixed a drawer in my dresser that had a broken track for 2 years - are you serious? This guy's amazing). I am SO impressed by what these guys did for us without question or hesitation. I had the pleasure of working with Joe and his team from J & J Movers a couple of weeks ago moving into a new home. Joe was able to provide timely estimates and move his schedule around to accommodate our closing and move date. He was also able to move our baby grand piano, which required special equipment and expertise. His team had an earlier move scheduled for the morning and he provided updates via text/phone on their status and when they would show up. They arrived on time, as promised, with 3 trucks and 7 movers. We had a lot of items to move and his entire team worked diligently into the evening to finish the move. Adding to the challenge was the fact that we received almost a foot of snow while they moved us, making conditions icy and certainly not ideal. Despite the challenges, Joe and his team maintained a great attitude, relieving a lot of our stress. To a man, each of the guys were efficient, courteous, and were true professionals. It says a lot when you have the owner working along with his crew supervising the work. I will certainly call Joe if I ever need moving services in the future. J & J Movers of Buffalo are simply, hands down, the best I've ever experienced. They very professionally, handled a complex move from a historic condominium in downtown Buffalo in a very short period of time. They utilized 11 movers and three trucks, completely emptying a 2200 sq ft condo unit offering very small service elevators within about two and a half hours. All items went into a storage unit miles away and that operation was handled in a fashion that used every square inch of the storage area. The movers worked as a true team, and all phases were completed in short order with complete and absolute customer satisfaction. These guys are good - they know what they are doing, and you can trust them with your prized possessions. They will be my first choice on my next household move and they should be yours too. They are totally THE BEST!!!! No disappointments here. Moving is traumatic and tough - don't make it tougher by hiring anyone other than these guys. We originally had different movers lined up for our recent move, and found out literally that morning that they had scheduled us for the wrong day and would not be showing!! Panic is an understatement. Upon contacting J & J, they were immediately receptive to trying to fit us in even though it was only a few hours notice - we would have understood if they couldn't, but the fact that they were even willing to try speaks to their character and dedication. They did end up being able to fit us in (!!!) which was amazing enough, but then we met them and were even more impressed! They worked swiftly and carefully (they paid close attention to walls/corners/floors) and were so kind and helpful in putting everything where it needed to go! These guys were incredible! Polite, professional, and never stopped moving...unless it was to ask me where I wanted something, or if I was happy with the placement of a piece of furniture. A couple inches to the right? No problem! The day began with each member of the crew introducing himself and shaking my hand! Moving is a ton of work, and one of life's biggest stressors, I never could have imagined a moving crew that could actually make the day fun. And don't think for a second that this was an easy move. This was six truckloads, a six man crew, and ELEVEN hours of work! One crew member showed me his steps data for the day....over 40,000 steps!! They were as detailed, kind, and hard-working at the eleventh hour as they were at the first. If you're moving and you want an upbeat positive experience while all of your earthly possessions are cared for meticulously, then you've gotta hire J&J Movers. Absolutely the best. Let me start this out by saying that the movers are awesome and amazing... The customer service on the other hand not so much. Joe the owner "quoted" me one price for the hourly rate that I was okay with. I understand an estimate is just that an estimate but after starting my job Joe felt the need to bring in another truck and a couple more guys saying my job was bigger than he thought, that was okay with me. What was not okay was the surprise I got when I was handed the bill and my hourly rate was more than doubled without any kind of discussion with me about the drastic rate increase I would be experiencing due to his poor estimation. He proceeded to tell me how it is my fault that he misjudged the job and why he had to bring in another crew of guys and a truck. I do not recommend them unless you have an extra thousand dollars to spend that wont be quoted to you when you speak with joe. Good luck with your move! read more

I was moving back to Buffalo from Oregon and needed to hire movers to unload my POD so I looked for local movers on-line. I picked J & J Movers based on the Yelp reviews. I can't say enough great things about them. Joe showed up with 2 other guys and they got right to work. They were amazing! Worked their butts off and had fun while doing it. I felt like I have known them forever; a group of the absolute nicest, hardworking, and funnest movers I have ever hired. I moved here without a washer or dryer and mentioned to Joe if he knew anyone that was selling a set to let me know, but he does one better and comes by 2 days later with Joe Sr. to deliver me a used set for me. Above and beyond! Their slogan is Your Movers for Life, and that is 100% true. I look forward to my next move so that I can hire them again. I would highly recommend them. Not sure why this business gave out my personal information to people at work who have been harassing me. I arranged for this move in April 2014. Jack Sr. made the appointment over the phone and he seemed okay, but the son was not. He made comments that he lived near where I worked and saw me pulling out of work every day. That seemed odd, given there are over 1500 people who work there. He made comments that he knew me from somewhere, which was also creepy. He had been contacted by people from where I work who have been contacting people I do business with and telling them I am some sort of dirtbag and to do something to harass me, and they would send them a lot of business. Unfortunately, in this depressed area of WNY, a lot of people will jump at the chance for more business, but I can't recommend any business that would compromise the privacy of a customer. read more

Joe and his crew do everything they can to ease the stress and make it a fun experience. Once they are there, they didnt want us to lift a finger.... they kept saying "the hardest part is over, you've packed everything, now let us do the rest." J & J Movers were the absolute best to work with. I highly recommend them. Our move was postponed with the Christmas blizzard. We were completely snowed in on our one way side street in Buffalo. Joe kept checking in with us the whole time and helped us feel calm and supported. Moving is stressful enough and having crazy weather delays just added to that pressure. Joe was able to move us safely with his crew as soon as our street was opened up and never let us feel like it was a problem. J&J moved my elderly mom from her home in Williamsville to an apartment for senior citizens in the city of Buffalo. Abraham, Kendrick, Mo & Quinn were absolutely professional, courteous, extra careful and very efficient with every aspect of the move. The entire team went above and beyond, especially when it came to reassuring my mom, who was completely frazzled and overwhelmed by the very idea of leaving her home of 35 years. I will use this company again in the future and will try to request this specific crew when I do. I have nothing but the best to say about the service they provided.
