The only challenge I had was me not having a full understanding of timelines. Allow a full day window for each of the drop off, pickup, delivery and return pick up of the truck. read more

We used U-Pack to move from Hollywood, CA to Rochester, NY, in Dec 2023. It was amazing, and relatively, easily the cheapest option. We had a large one bedroom apt to get packed and moved; two desks, a bed, a coffee cart, a kitchen cart, an 8ft sofa, a coffee table, a lot of books and bookshelf, clothes, a mountain bike, etc. and it all fit in one Relo Cube! I took apart and flat-packed a lot of it, to fit more, but still, we were shocked by just how much we could fit in one cube. The U-Pack website was a gold mine of useful information, even if you aren't moving with them, take a look! we are still using their moving checklist as we come to the end of our move. The interaction with customer service was excellent, they all seemed to be on the same page and I never felt like I didn't know what was going on. The information provided was very clear about what was required of me, and the drivers were friendly and helpful. The cube itself was clean and in good condition, and everything arrived in Rochester relatively unscathed. Be sure to use packing blankets and straps to keep things from rubbing against each other and your things should be fine. If you are unsure of the amount of cubes you need, you can request more, and they will only charge you for what you use, taking back any unused cubes at no cost. Using U-pack, lessened the stress, and cost, of moving across the country considerably. I highly recommend it and would happily use it again. Excellent. read more

I've used U-Pack 3 times over the years for long distance moves and they are awesome. I don't plan to move again anytime soon but I would totally use them again. I hired local movers to pack the trailer. It's still more economical than using a moving company to transport items. read more

I found U-Pack on line and the fact that they had smaller containers was perfect for my move from New York to Hawaii. The pricing was good and their service (both on line and on the phone) was super easy and friendly. I would highly recommend them. The only reason for the 4 and not 5 star rating was the fact that they didn't know that my container couldn't be delivered to my building in Honolulu so I had to rent a U-Haul and load it up at their facility nearby. To their credit the refunded me $150 without asking to accommodate the expense of the U-Haul and my time. read more

I've dealt with awful movers in the past but this company is beyond fantastic! This move was not for myself, but for my parents, to Buffalo from Florida. First off, we were a little surprised at the price--seemed very fair--not used to seeing that. From the time they quoted my parents they fulfilled every promise exactly as stated and on time. Every person they dealt with was kind, helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. Once the truck got here I had the pleasure of dealing with several employees at the Tonawanda office. Lisa, Jerry, Kevin and Ed--all incredibly helpful, professional and enthusiastic about their jobs--just a wonderful experience! I did not dread calling, I never had any problem or concern that wasn't handled immediately and satisfactorily. I will be moving in the spring and I will not have to look too far to find movers! I would not hesitate in recommending this company! This was the easiest part of my move across the country!!!!! I am a single mom who decided to sell my house in Buffalo NY and move to Boise Idaho. I did my research and decided to go with Upak .. and I could not be happier with my experience!!! They literally parked the trailer in front if my storage unit in NY, my kids loaded the trailer.. and Upak picked it up and drove my belongings out west. It took about a week to get here.. I made a call to schedule the drop off at my house in Idaho and once it was unloaded.. I clicked a button online to have them pick it up!!! Super easy, amazing price and not one single problem!! I got quotes from three "cube moving" companies. U-pack / U-ship was the lowest for my particular 1 way destinations. Their quoted rate did not change, and there were no surprises, nor extra fees. I was impressed how painless the empty cube drop off, full cube pick up, full cube delivery, and empty cube pick up were. For each transaction, it occurred when scheduled and there were no "we can't do that". For a normally stressful activity like moving, this interaction with U-Pack actually reduced my stress. Highly recommended and I hope everyone else has similar experiences with them. read more

I used the terminal to home delivery option and had a great experience on both ends. First, the reservation process is really easy and it is the most flexible company around. They make it clear you front what costs are associated with each option and that you will be ultimately charged for what you end up doing. In Tonawanda, they were very nice and an employee even helped check and better secure what we'd loaded for us. In Nashville, the truck came to me for a live unload. This is the 4th time I've used ABF Upack but I had always done the cubes in the past. Very happy. read more

USED U-PACK MOVING TRAILER: THIS COMPANY IS AWESOME!!! LOOOVE THEM!!! BBB Rating is A+ (when I researched them)!! Totally professional, absolutely friendly and very helpful!! 2600 mile relocation move a success!! :) NOTE: EVEN IF YOU DON'T CHOSE THIS COMPANY... BE SURE TO BE SAFE: www. protectyourmove .gov (without spaces http://www.protectyour...) I had hell with previous movers (American Van Lines) with their lack of professionalism in not picking my stuff up w/o warning & then not being able to give me a move date as the weeks passed...& ripping me off almost $800 of my deposit only because they said they COULD move me when they couldn't. This is when I had to find another mover QUICKLY!! & fortunately found ABF via an insert of change of address from the post office (which also gives you a coupon for $50 off!!). ** ABF IS TOTAL OPPOSITE from those other evil movers!!!! *** You can give them one or two days notice and they'll send the trailer for you to load your stuff onto it!!! And they DO deliver in the time they claim and can even hold off on delivery of things up to three days or so for free!! Very accommodating and helpful!! They can even pick up on the same day you call it in (conditions apply)!!! Not only that but it's awesome!!! You ONLY PAY for the SPACE YOU USE which is not set in stone until you're fully loaded & it's picked up, weight is not a factor. The trailer is a 8'6" wide x 9' tall and 28' possibility of depth, but you use what you need (minimum of 5' deep). MUCH cheaper than any movers by a lot... superb on services!!! I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THEM!! ONLY THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND.... 1) Be sure to get your "Rights and Responsibilities" pamphlet as required to do so by law. They may have it online. 2) BEFORE booking the pick up date, find out if parking the trailer will be an issue either on street or driveway (need 40' space (trailer & ramp) & it's very, very tall, won't fit under a garage). You may have to call police department to verify if ok to park on street. I had room in Buffalo, but my destination was a concern. Talk to ABF if no room on driveway and parking of trailer on street is not allowed. They may be able to help you out. They did w/ me. :) 3) LIABILITY IS VERY LIMITED as you're the one loading/unloading!! So pack your things VERY well. (tons of cushion & reinforcement in boxes) 4) THINGS YOU'LL NEED: a) WORK GLOVES (for putting up the bulkhead, which may be splitting and can give you splinters, plus it's dirty-- and also for moving the ramp?) b) DOLLY & STEP STOOL (if you yourself are doing the loading/unloading) c) TIE MATERIALS SUCH AS ROPE & TARP (to tie your stuff up so it doesn't fall. I did a web w/ the trailer holes (forget terminology) and the rope. EVERYTHING fell & shifted, even as tight as I thought I had it, but the web held it from going any further. Stuff does get dusty. Doesn't appear that way but it is dusty, especially noticeable on plastics. d) BIKE CHAIN AND/OR LOCK for securing the door while loading (if you don't do it all in one day or if you need to run out for something). They don't provide locks you can use. e) ANOTHER PERSON- The ramp is very heavy (esp. for a petite girl) and to put the bulkhead up to divide your stuff from the rest of the future cargo they load... you may need 2 people. Amazing!! After Pods nearly ruined my entire move, I called u pack and they saved the day!! They delivered a container to my house within hours of calling and they were waaaaay more fairly priced than Pods!! The drivers were professional and courteous and answered all of our questions. This company is great! My cube went from Arizona to Buffalo in 5 days with no problems. Kevin in Tonawanda was nice and let me get stuff out of my cube while it was being stored. The price is much more reasonable than PODS and they are very helpful. read more
