Took my mother to have her eyebrows waxed. The technician was so rude. My mom said ouch when the strip was ripped off the first eye (yes it does hurt and makes our eyes water ). The technician was hateful and said "your welcome". My mom is in her eighties. I will no be back. No one should be that rude. Especially to an elder or someone's mom! First time getting my eyebrows done. I'd originally wanted to get them threaded, because I have sensitive skin and I'd heard threading was better for that. I finally called these guys to ask if they do threading, and the woman who answered the phone, Jessica, said they didn't -- in fact, the only place that DOES do it is some kiosk in the mall. Igh! Jessica asked why I was looking at threading over waxing, and after explaining my situation to her, she suggested I come in, because they had special wax for those with sensitive skin and they took special precautions to make sure things go smoothly. She was SO nice and SO well informed that I made up my mind to go, and I am SUPER GLAD I did! I went in the following day and the woman that did my eyebrows was chatty and friendly. The place is really clean, and they have little private rooms for everyone that is getting something done. Not only was she chatty and friendly, she answered all of the bajillion questions I had about waxing and what to do after it was done. I won't say that it wasn't painless -- I mean hello, you're getting hair ripped off your face. It's not like a massage with kittens and rainbows here. But it really didn't hurt that badly at all. What I was REALLY concerned with was that I'd watched a former roommate get her eyebrows done, and her skin cracked and peeled and bled and just looked horrible for a few days. I have a convention I'm traveling to in a few days, and I didn't want to look horrible for it. I went home, put some aloe on my face -- it was a little puffy and itchy at first, but by bedtime it had faded away. This morning, I'm left with eyebrows that are much less fuzzy and much more well-defined, and skin that looks just fine. Couldn't be happier, really -- and when I need a touchup, I'll definitely be headed back here. read more

I've been going to Waxit for several years and had both face and body waxing done here on a regular basis. They are clean, hygienic, and professional. However, recently the technician ruined my eyebrows. I've been growing them in full for a long time, in keeping with fashion trends. The woman waxed them into a horrible 1990s pencil thin look that I hate. And, they aren't symmetrical left to right. It will take a year to grow them back, if they do grow back, which at my age isn't a given. None of the regular staff I am used to interacting with were in the store, and I didn't feel comfortable mentioning my disappointment to the front desk person, who seemed to be a new employee. Next time I'll be sure to ask for one of the gals who I know do a good job. read more

(This review may contain TMI and is personal, but I think you should read on to the end.) I come to Wax It! because you can walk right in and I appreciate that. All of the girls there are very nice and make pleasant conversation during an uncomfortable, intimate service--Brazilian waxing. I do not feel this salon is clean and the square paper cover does not cover the whole table where perhaps the last customer was naked on, and I would prefer that a something be offered to cover your legs and make you feel less exposed. At my most recent visit, when I got up to get dressed I noticed the paper towel in the trash can was bloody. I had never had that happen in many years of waxing. As I cleaned up and looked around there, it looked like a skinned knee on my right outer labia. Now, I know things happen and I wasn't as upset about this painful skin tear as I was that the technician said nothing to me about it. Not, "Oh I am sorry, it looks like you have a skin tear, here's how to care for it." That would have been the professional thing to do. Will I go back? Maybe. But I can tell you I will expect better service next time. read more
