So this was my very First time getting wax ( Brazilian) and I was incredibly nervous ! Now I instantly let my waxer (Jessica ) know this and she was amazing she made me feel so at ease and relaxed ! We literally talked the whole time she waxed me and it was nothing like I expected! It went so well and so quick ! Jessica is awesome! She is fast, and painless (well for me at least). You don't feel awkward around her and she communicates well to the point where you are just so easily distracted. The salon is small and quaint, but, you don't need to spend much time here. It's a one stop shop and there's no need to be here any longer than you need to. Just do your thing, and go. Booking online is super easy. I've waxed with several different waxers here and every single one I've had were very nice and very gentle. Rescheduling is also very easy. They send you text notifications to remind you about your appointment and you are able to text back if you need to reschedule. I have to say that my favorite person working here would have to be myisha. It was my first time ever getting waxed and she made me feel comfortable in my skin and very relaxed. Gave me great tips on aftercare. And I always get great advice from her in our conversations. Only con is you have to find street parking so be sure to get there early. read more

I used to go to a place that claim to be Brazilian wax specialists, however I'm a licensed esthetician and I can tell you their work was not great. I kept getting massive ingrowns due to them not following the hair growth patterns and they were always rushing. I have no complaints about wax candy and there always seems to be parking believe it or not I'm really happy to have an experience and seasoned esthi. My usual girl was booked and my schedule couldn't fit hers so I found this place on yelp. The price is A LOT cheaper than the normal price I pay for my Brazilian. When I came in the door was locked, which is reasonable for the location and services rendered, so ring the bell and they let you in. They take you into the room and have you undress from Below the waist and lay on the bed till they come in. I don't know how other places do it, but I am usually given a towel to cover up so when the door opens no one sneaks a peak. There was no towel to cover up so I was a little confused but i got over it. They do the waxing nice and quick, the girls are very friendly and I was able to have a conversation with Sally as if I had already known her prior. After the wax I was told that there is oil I can apply if I find any sticky spots left over and that was about it. There wasn't any after care procedures like warm towel, calming sprays, tweezing, etc. They keep it really simple BUT I'm not complaining. Had my first ever Brazilian wax yesterday, done by Amy, and it was by far the most comfortable experience ever. The receptionist in the front was super nice and checked me in quickly. I called when they first opened and they were able to fit me in the same day. My appointment was at 2pm I was done by 2:15pm. I've been getting Brazilian waxes for nearly 10 years now and Wax Candy is by far the best salon I've ever been to. Their waxes are quick but most importantly the LEAST PAINFUL that I've ever experienced, and they always offer to tweeze out stray hairs when necessary. Places like European Wax Center push the narrative that hard wax is less painful but that hasn't been my experience at all, as Wax Candy uses a soft wax with cloth strips. I've had waxes by three or four of the techs here and they are all fantastic and provide the same quality services, but with my current schedule I've been seeing Mariah and she's my personal favorite, she's so cheerful and just has a great energy. I've relocated to a neighboring town and still make the drive to DTLB for my appointments here because nowhere else compares. read more

General Customer Service 4.0 Regarding making an appointment, waiting room service and attentiveness, the staff was friendly and kind, one girl was slightly off putting but I attribute that to maybe she was having an off day, I dont think it was her regular demeanor. 2. Waxing Aesthetician (Kathy) 5.0 In all the times I've been waxed, aestheticians have never explained to me stages of hair growth and if you start waxing, why it's a good idea to keep doing it. She was friendly and conversational, and was empathetic during the more painful sections, I have had girls who could care less if it hurts. Will definitely request her again. The place itself is nicely decorated, it just looks a little older, it's clean, but not super stringent, but that wasn't an issue. Kathy provided cleansing clothes and she wore new gloves. 3. Results for the price (less than $50) 5.0 Kathy asked if I wanted all hair gone and also went back with tweezers to make sure she got everything. She explained that because I hadn't gone in a while that I should see some growth in a week, only because if the stage of growth I was in. 4. This review is long overdue! I've been going here for a few months after being a long time member of a popular wax chain. I can't speak for the other waxers because I have been in good hands with Myisha since the beginning, because my experience with her has been so great. She's very detailed and made sure short or stubborn hairs are tweezed away (I get the Brazilian service). I've been to some places where I leaving sticky and need a shower but when I get up from the table all I feel is smooth and moisturized. Myisha is always very pleasant and accommodating and easily partakes in my nervous chatter lol. As for the operation as a whole, they're always fully staffed with smiling faces and up to date tech wise so booking and communication is easy. Their rates are competitive and, unlike other places, they don't bombard you with products they're trying to sell you. Overall, this place is the best I've been to. read more

I always have a great experience at this location. I have been helped my multiple esthetician's and they are all so nice and friendly. They are usually pretty booked up so I would recommend making an appointment ahead of time. They take their time with you and always have you check during the process to see if you are happy with the work or need them to take off a few more hairs. I usually do my brow and lip but because of Covid no lip services at the moment. Total cost about $25 for brow with tip and it is worth every penny. Honestly anytime I am in a hurry and go somewhere else to get my brows done they get ruined and I end up back here having to get help to even them out. LOL. Pay attention to the parking rules when you come since it's Long Beach and parking is a little tough. Overall fantastic customer service and experience I will always return here. So i called this place after 2 friend recommendations and the fact that their yelp reviews are so high. I've never had waxing done before; i was a little nervous at the pain level. WELL NOT ANYMORE!!! This place is great! Everyone is so friendly! They keep the wax clean: it's YOUR wax, and they use cotton cloth strips. Shannon was the one who helped me out and she was so nice and talkative that i wasnt nervous. She explained everything and it didnt hurt hardly at all...not like i was expecting after getting hair ripped out. Even later/the next day i barely feel anything. But remember everyone's skin reacts differently!! I will absolutely come back here!! They changed my view of waxing forever! Ask for Shannon she is great! I have been coming here for almost a year for a Brazilian before covid. Everyone is so friendly and warm. All the waxers are really good at what they do. I never had a bad experience with any waxers there. I highly recommend this place. I have never been to another waxing salons besides this one. Pricing is good & everyone's here are so great. Just a heads up, it is only street parking so it can be a hit or miss with that. I did come here a couple of days ago, since they finally reopened again. There is a reason why 92% reviews gives Wax Candy 5 stars. They are superb at their specialization- waxing. I decided to check Wax Candy out after I passed by their LA location and thought it was very interesting and cute. So I looked them up and they totally convinced me, they stated in their website that they use different wax for each customer, and because the price was right. ($9 for my underarms) Anyway, I had never gotten waxed in a place before, I wax my arms myself, and I was a little nervous. They made everything super comfortable, great conversation and they did such a great job. They really are very hygienic, using wax in a cup so they never dip into the big wax pot, and the wax is really good too. (Y'all know how sweaty the underarms can get, didn't matter, the wax did its job beautifully) They are very conscious of pain tolerance as well. I'll tell you, I got a Brazilian sugaring done and I'm not going back to that pain. I'm actually looking forward to have Wax Candy do my Brazilian.
