Hate to have to write a review but this place is horrible. I stop here almost daily on my way to work between 5-5:15am. Almost never a cashier working the register. I stood at the counter and watched the cashier completely ignore me and was unboxing some supplies. But this morning Sunday November 16th around 5:30am I ordered a breakfast burrito that's just under $5. I waited for 10min not a single person working the food area. One lady came from the back with a breakfast sandwich and handed to a customer that just walked in so I'm assuming it was a friend. After almost 15 minutes of being ignored I finally just left and since there was no cashier (surprise) I didn't bother waiting longer for a refund. This particular Wawa is conveniently located on State Road 436. Wawa is a great overall experience. Yes, it is a gas station, but I think it is most beloved for the food counter inside. The "hoagies" are what they are best known for in terms of food. If you don't know what a "hoagie" is, it is a sub. A "hoagie" is just the term for a sub in the Philadelphis Pennsylvania and surrounding area (which is where Wawa got its start). My go-to sub at Wawa is probably their Italian sub. For a gas station, the subs (or "hoagies" as they are called around Philadelphia) are pretty impressive. The inside also has the usual convenience store items. I have been to this Wawa a handful of times and I usually have a really good experience with them. My fiance and I stopped here today for lunch. We got a BLT sub with extra bacon, cheddar cheese, garlic aioli, guacamole, lettuce and tomatoes. It was DELICIOUS! It's my fiances go to order and at first I was skeptical about garlic aioli AND guacamole, but he knows how to order a sandwich! We got a small pineapple and a mango blend juice too. The pineapple was a bit pricey, but it tasted good. The juice blend was the perfect blend of sweet and satisfying. The store was clean, but the one big problem that I had was that there were 9 people in line and only one cashier so the wait was long. I do really enjoy the covered table area behind the store. It's a nice place to sit and enjoy lunch. So, if you need gas, lunch, snacks, or a smoothie I would recommend Wawa. read more

Embarrassed to say but our first time trying one of Wawa's famous subs. Being from PA, NJ and NY area we are a bit picky when it comes to agreeing on good subs. The Italian sub here was quite tasty. The hoagie roll can make or break the sub and this one does the sandwich proud. My husband picked up my mobile order and when he got back home I noticed my lemonade was wrong . I ordered a pineapple lemonade (like I always do so I know the difference) I then have to get dressed and drive back to Wawa to get my drink fixed . The Wawa card was worth the investment to save 25 cents a gallon - especially since my brew is ethanol free. The number of healthy food choices - salads, yogurt, fruit, and veg - is appreciated considering how easy it is to stuff your face with chips and soda when you're on the go. I have yet to have a sub or the Mac & Cheese here but I've heard they are respectable. Today I realized they have a Cuban Roast available to jolt us awake in the morning and we'll just have to see how good that is - for convenience store coffee. This is the Wawa I used to go to when I lived in Altamonte and will still visit if I'm over that direction. I think the staff there is pretty nice and one girl in particular would always go out of her way to help me get the best prices on items. This location is super busy as most of them are, but especially since this is the only one in Altamonte. As with most Wawa's there are good prices on gas, any size fountain drinks are 99¢, they have a huge variety of coffees, and yummy sandwiches. This is truly a monster Wawa. It has a back patio. The patio is larger than most homes. Ginormous. In addition to having great sandwiches, coffee and snacks. I was met with a real friendly welcome by the lady making coffee. We chatted for a bit and I went on my way. You just never know what a pleasant time that was for me. I stopped by Wawa this evening for gas and coffee. They're running a special "Any size coffee for $1". I walked in went to place my order & the order screen showed the original coffee price of $2.99, so standing there ordering I asked the lady preparing beverages "Are the speciality coffees included in the $1 price point?" She responded with yes, EXCEPT our ice coffee beverages. I said ok so my speciality coffee is $1, and she said "yes". I ordered a latte and went to pay, but of course it wasn't $1. So I nicely told the cashier the situation & unable to do anything she asked her manager to correct it. She even stated "I'm so sorry I believe I know who told you that but these all full price". Now it's $3 vs. $1 so it's not a big price diff but when I'm told it's $1 I expect to pay that, especially when I go out of my way to double check the price. But I didn't pay anything because the manager says this drink isn't included, you can pay $2.99 or pour yourself a $1 coffee & we will pour out the coffee you ordered. WOW! I mean the rudest manager I've ever met and I worked in retail most of my teen life. Luckily Wawa's corporate office doesn't put up with a customer being told one thing and them not standing behind it because they're correcting her bad management skills. If you don't have people skills then you do belong in management. I did have a great conversation with the corporate office and they addressed all of my issues. There is no greater convenience store in the world than Wawa! I am thrilled that I get to frequent it when visiting my parents when I am in Florida and don't have to drive to Jersey just to experience it anymore since I live in NY. The employees are always smiling brightly and this Christmas morning was no different. Everyone is wearing reindeer antlers, Minny mouse hats, and Santa hats and truly in the Christmas spirit. When I thanked them for their warmth and kindness as I was pouring my cream in to my coffee they all said that they were thankful to be working because they enjoy their job and the double time certainly helps!! This store has anything and everything you can think of, and I especially love the subs that they make fresh to order. It is even more amazing that you can order what you want just by placing the order on the touch screen in front of the deli section. Visited at the night of red hot and boom in Altamonte about 1115 at night, and the bathroom is completely trashed. The feminine waste basket was overflowing, and there were just wads of toilet paper in the sink and all over the floor. Not to mention the feces stain on the floor, in front of the toilet. Worst part about it was, we had to go unfortunately into the trashed handicap stall, and an employee was in the other stall. Toni-Marie just so happened to be very unpleasant today. I ordered a half of a flat bread and a soup. She called my number 7 times while I stood right in front of her face. I waited patiently and then asked her why she kept calling my number. She goes, "Yeah I called your number 7 times. We don't have the soup you ordered." VERY rudely. So while I stood there staring at her for a good five minutes she didn't make eye contact with me once or even to ask who had my order. Then wanted to come at me. Ever since the first Wawa popped up in the central FL area...it's been a go-to gas station, but not only that it's a place you can stop by for a snack, great coffee, sandwich or smoothie! I couldn't wait for this particular Wawa to open in our area, as the closest one from here is Apopka. And what a great location. For the grand opening they had free coffee for the opening week, what a deal and other specials too! I normally love Wawa. However, the 2 times I have visited this one it was not up to par. 4 of the coffee pot flavors were empty, with no reserve pots yet brewed. The lady behind the counter was not nice, and even grumbled about customers for "moving my pots." At other Wawas I go to, the coffee is flowing, and reserve pots are ready for when one is empty. On the rare occasion one happens to be out, the people behind the counter are extra nice and say something like "If you can wait a few minutes, your coffee is on the house" and try to be pleasant. Also at this one, the trash bins in the cup/creamer area were both overfull, with trash coming out the top. Either they need to staff this Wawa better or better train coffee staff. Especially when they are having coffee special offers such as $1 coffee. read more
