I was out ridding and noticed my back break looked alittle weird....the next day emailed Watsonville Cyclery just to get an estimate about a tune up. I got a call same day that I could bring my bike in that day and a standard tune up was $75. I brought in my bike and chatted with shop owner about tune up and getting some new handle bar tape. I picked out just black but he also had some fun shiny ones as well. I picked up my bike the next day, the tune up and handle bar tape set me back only $100. The new handlebar tape was a whole lot more comfortable than my old one, I took my bike for a spin around the parking lot just to check the brakes and the gears. The service is great and affordable I would definitely recommend this shop to anybody in the Watsonville area. I did glance at some pretty cool cruisers in there as well I might go back in and grab another bike! read more

Sucks that Yelp says you're OPEN today, Sunday, hence the neutral 3 star rating. Had a mechanical issue on Green Valley & Casserly, took a cab only to find that you're closed. Might wanna look into correcting that with Yelp or better yet, open on Sundays when people are out riding and close on Mondays when most people are working. read more

We were looking for a new bicycle shop where my husband could get work done on his mountain bike and I could get work done on my road bike after we had had some negative experiences with service provided by other shops elsewhere in the County. First and foremost, the services provided was quick, reasonably priced, and done extremely well. Secondly, the place has a great vibe and the owner is an enthusiast who is interested in getting out, riding, and growing the local cycling community. I had been wanting to buy a bike for awhile now and finally my boyfriend took me down here today since we live a few blocks away. I've been here a few times for service. There's a couple of older dudes in there that are good and helpful. But there's a younger kid who has his girlfriend tied to his hip during work hours, this kid has no customer/people skills, he misinforms you and wants to make you feel like only he knows bikes. Keep away from him. In fact take your service needs elsewhere for this moron could be the one working on your ride. Two stars for the older guys. Fyi i'm taking my service needs to shop in salinas. I had gone in and had a tire flat-proofed, and was treated well. However, another time I went in due to my crank bearings failing and the guy at the counter was dismissive and rude. I think he doesn't value bike owner's experience and is fairly full of himself. He asked if I had lubed the chain lately and then ignored me because he was talking to a young female customer. I took my bike back to Santa Cruz and had the bearings replaced by the professionals. I doubt I will go back to Watsonville Cyclery. read more

I purchased a bike online and couldn't put it together. I took it to Watsonville Bike Shop and asked if they would fix it for me. Jules, the young man working at the shop was very helpful and assured me he could do a tune up and fix my bike for me and have it done on the same day. Wow! What customer service! I went to watsonville cyclery to buy a bike and my experience was horrible! I asked the guy what type of frame I should be looking for for my height, and he said that they can adjust any bike to fit me. Now I'm not an experienced bike rider, but from the reserch I have done online I found that there is a difference in the frame sizes. While I was brousing through the bikes, I decided to pull one out of its "parking place" to get a better look at it, I had some questions about it so I wheeled it to him at the front desk at which point he told me to put it back! The guy was totally weird and had no salesman/ social skills, and he made me feel like I was a bother to him. I will definately never go back. read more

I went in today to buy two bikes, one for me and one for my wife. I had previously gone in and tested a bike (about two weeks ago). The guy with the goatee helped me out that day and he's was very helpful. When I went to buy my bikes today there was another guy there who was rude to me and other customers who went in while I was there. No customer service skills what's so ever. Came in needing the cleat plate for my old pair of cycling shoes. The attendant found the right style for my shoes, installed the cleats, and offered to give me the Allen wrench he'd used to put them on. He only charged me $4 dollars for this and gave me some advice for positioning the cleats. Very helpful. read more

Seriously, I will only trust my bike with them here. Especially Jules. Took him all of a couple hours to fix a headset and cassette issue which had two other shops scratching their heads. I had a fork replaced at a DIFFERENT shop and the headset was put back incorrectly, which was causing it to jiggle. When I went back to them, they said I had to order the parts myself and then I could bring it back for them to repair. I took it to SECOND bike shop and they did their best to fix it, but after a week of having it, they returned it in worse condition than I left it and handed me the part they took off, but couldn't figure out how to put back on. FINALLY, I made it to Watsonville Cyclery. Jules repaired the damage to the fork that had ensued from me riding it on the faulty repair, patched up the headset using parts he had there, and put the cassette on- all in less time than I spent even talking with the other shops. I have another bike that could use some TLC that I plan to bring in. read more
