I needed a tune-up for my RAD city e-bike. I heard about Current and gave them a call. The guys who work here are all cool. I was quoted $120 and made my appointment. Anthony is the manager and so nice. He took care of my bike and asked if there were any issues. It took about 2 hours. When I got back, he had me ride it around the block to make sure everything was ok. I thought to myself, "All mechanics should do this!" There were no extra charges added on for looking or tightening etc. I was nervous because some places they add on all kinds of charges. All in all I'd give this place 5+++ stars. Went here to get my new ebike (not from Current eBikes) tuned up and checked for any problems and I'm happy with my experience. I was able to schedule a same day appointment over the phone, biked down and then hung out downtown until I received a call that my bike was ready. They did forget to call when it was first done, but they called eventually so no harm no foul. The service was prompt and friendly, and I appreciated the receipt containing the tune up notes. Service center at Current Bike is bad. Stay away! Mike, the service manager is rude to customers.

First off want to give them props for their extreme patience as I came in MANY times and asked to test ride bikes on multiple occasions (and then sent my husband to test ride after I had) and they never made me feel rushed or pressured me to purchase. I had a friend that had a so-so experience with their maintenance department, so I was a bit wary on that end. After our 250 mile check up our breaks started rubbing really badly, but it was weird because it didn't happen right away - only on our second ride after service. So not sure if something they did messed it up or if the timing was just bad. Either way I called them and they immediately had me come in and worked for 20 minutes after close to fix the problem and even comped me break pads, so I'd say all in all, it was a positive experience. Also, seems like their prices are good - I checked out what it would have cost to buy the same bike I got online through the manufacturer and it was less from Current eBikes! read more

This was our first visit to Current E bikes. I came here because they had the E bike that I wanted. When I looked at their website it looked like a makeshift garage but to my surprise when I arrived I found a well appointed shop with a half a dozen employees and we had the most pleasant experience. Mike the owner was extremely gracious and went through in great detail how to care for my new E bike. And the Wholesale process was a pleasure. Not only Mike the owner was amazing but also in turn each staff member fulfilled their roles really well. Best e bike shop in town! Purchased my Tern HSD S11 from them and couldn't be happier. They let me test drive a few models and were very helpful and knowledgeable and helped guide me to the bike that would work for what I needed. They communicated frequently as I was waiting for my bike (took me two months to get my HSD due to backorders). They helped me pick out my accessories and you get a discount on the accessories when you purchase your bike through them! Once my bike arrived they orientated me on my bike and this is where their knowledge helped out a lot as it was my first e bike. I've had a few questions pop up since then and every time I call them they're always responsive and helpful. The Bosch motor is in my opinion the best e bike motor out there and they carry a wide variety of bikes with this motor. We had been shopping locally in the south Bay area and had been repeatedly disappointed, either in the price or the quality. A friend recommended Current eBikes so we masked up and went over the hill for an outdoor appointment with Andrea. We tried several step through bikes and found one that we thought was appropriate for my height. Nevertheless, seeing we were somewhat unsure Andrea suggested we return to try another model that was coming in shortly. We returned and ended up buying the original choice with confidence. Andrea fitted the bike out for me and helped load it on to our new bike rack demonstrating the best method for mounting it. (step-through bikes are sometimes difficult to strap on). The store is conveniently located, parking is readily available on the street. The sidewalk is very wide and the side streets are not at all busy, so customers can try the bikes out comfortably. I have been going to Santa Cruz for over 60 years. On the recommendation of a friend, my daughter and I rented ebikes from Current eBikes. We rode out to the lighthouse, steamers lane, then north up to the park in through the park, and then on out to Wilder Ranch. It was one of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences I have had in Santa Cruz. I recommend it highly. The people at Current eBikes made it happen for us. The experience was so great and the staff at Current eBikes were so good to deal with, I ended up buying an ebike from them. A few months later a small screw, on the shifter mount, came loose and I lost it on a ride. It was going to be a hassle to figure out and replace the screw.
