TLDR: I would highly recommend Tony and his team for his work. I will personally be using them again and have recommended them to others already. Excellent service, responsiveness and genuine customer service. Tony works with you not just for you. He worked with me on within my budget and timelines, and provided great suggestions, options and education to make sure I ended up with the best outcome. Everyone with his company I interacted with was professional, nice, and great at their jobs. Finally, he worked just as hard after the install and payments to locate grill covers for my recently purchased speakers. Which was hard as due to budget/value we went with end of model life options so the grills were no longer being produced. I may have gotten last two in America. This level of follow-through and post-sale support is rare today.

We recently needed troubleshooting for our home theater system and my husband made numerous attempts to reach someone at Empire for assistance. Calls were not returned and when he did manage to speak with someone about a service appointment, all he could get was "maybe we can stop by on Friday". Not exactly what we expected given the money we initially spent. Needless to say, no one showed up on Friday. We ended up finding another company that not only returned our calls, they sent a tech out a few days later who quickly resolved our issue. Then he went through our system and pointed out some optimizations that, honestly, should have been made during the installation. When you invest in Control4, any updates/changes have to be made through a dealer, so it's extra annoying when the dealer you purchased through no longer wants your business. We look forward to working with our NEW dealer to install additional home automation and home theater components.

Nice work, professional, great customer service. Then... not so much. I called them a couple of years later, following post-storm home renovations (thanks, Gulf Coast weather), to get Wi-Fi working again and re-run Ethernet cables. Over the next couple of weeks, when I'd call to follow up, Kimberley would tell me that "the GM is working on the proposal," but never got return calls. Ghosted. Finally hired an independent IT guy to make the fixes, as well as for some followup reconfigurations on the Wi-Fi gear.

Amazon and Modia immediately charged my card. However, Modia never delivered my tv. The delivery date was continuously pushed back with no communication regarding why. At one point, a delivery driver texted me saying they wanted to deliver the TV "tomorrow," but I was unavailable at the recommended time. Later that week, I asked when delivery would be attempted again. Modia then made up a story about the tv being magically damaged so they were having it RE-shipped from a far away location. After 3 weeks of delays between Nov.21 - Dec. 9, I finally demanded a refund. The refund was completed. Then I posted a negative review on Amazon explaining that Modia never delivered my tv. Modia then called me repeatedly, asking me to take down my negative review in exchange for a $200 gift card. If you view Modia's customer reviews on Amazon you will see numerous 1 star reviews that now have a strikethrough them because those customers likely agreed to remove their accurate negative review.

While they are relatively newer by history, I have no doubt that I made the right decision going with them. For someone who doesn't live in Houston proper anymore, much more convenient for starters if you live in the general area. First thing I wanted was some easy running boards attached. They were able to do so quickly without issue. Second thing I requested was for a dash cam to be hardwired and wires concealed. Look at the photos I took, only the minimum amount of wire is hanging out and I can't even notice my front camera when I'm in the driver's seat. Lastly, I felt like my car was lacking bass and was seeing what sort of options I had. Dylin and Elie went over what sorts of parts would be needed, explaining what the purpose of each was. I visited a few other car shops and the rest didn't seem quite as interested or quoted me a ridiculously absurd price without even seeming to care what I was looking for (some place tried to tell me that my meh base car audio was worth $15k and trying to convince me I NEEDED a $10k audio job right off the bat to upgrade it). They gave me a few options as far as location. I was trying to see if I could somehow have a subwoofer but with the box not taking up too much room. In the trunk of my SUV, there was a relatively small nook and they were able to fit a 10" JL Audio subwoofer with a custom enclosure. Look at the photos I put up, looks great and sounds great. There's less than 1/2 an inch from the opening of the trunk enclosure and the sub but they made it work without the sub being touched. I dropped the car off on a Tuesday, picked up on Wednesday with all smiles. Very happy with the job they've done. Fair pricing, extremely high quality job and attention to detail. Great customer service. I would highly recommend them. I will be back for more when I figure out what else I want to customize! Thank you!
