They came in and started right away and new exactly what they were doing. Everything looks amazing and working properly. They recommend the Nest E Thermostat for a AC cooling situation on the second floor and it solved my issue Great price too!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They have predatory practices. I had an alarm installed 9/2014 at which…read moretime I was told I had a 3 year contract term. I was OK with that because while most companies have a 2 year term, I figured I would always need/want alarm monitoring. When I signed the contract it was never brought to my attention that if I did not cancel PRIOR to my 3 year term expiration I would be automatically renew for another 12 months. Really??? Like who does that? I was supposed to receive a camera and they never installed it. If my alarm went off and I disarmed it, they still sent the police to my home which has resulted in over $500 in fees to my local police department...I am currently disputing this with them as well. The app they give you doesn't work. And now after 3 years, my system keeps going off in my home for no reason. I JUST WANT OUT!!! I called back in early 2017 to express my displeasure. At that time I was told by Casey that I would have to wait until my 3 year term was up to cancel. Its now 3 years and 1 month and I call back only to have Lindsay Behl tell me that I will be automatically renewed for another 12 months. WHAT?????????? Are you kidding me? Why wasn't I told this back when I called prior to my contract expiration? I understand contracts and I get it is my responsibility to read them but this is ridiculous. I called prior to my contract expiration date, I should have been told at that time that I needed to put the request in not tell me to call back after my expiration date so that they could charge me an extra 12 months! CROOKS! I asked Lindsay to speak with a manager and I am being told he, the manager Brian Fish, will call me back in 3-5 days. 3-5 days??? Really? You seriously cannot claim to provide good customer service when you tell a customer to wait 3-5 days to speak with someone to get this resolved. So now Lindsay is going to put in the cancellation request but I will have to dispute the charges because despite my displeasure they are going to bill me for 12 more months. Incredible. Save yourself that hassle and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

FYI, they lock you into a 3-year contract to start, and then AUTO-renews for 12-month contracts…read more AND, when we moved in February of 2017, this company apparently put us on ANOTHER, NEW 3-year contract. Now I cannot cancel unless I pay a $1,085.86 fee. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Of course the tech never explained this to us. They are going to say this is IN THE CONTRACT but tell me, who reads those things line-by-line? PLEASE do yourself a favor and STAY FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR AWAY from this company. Apparently moving permanently out of the country is not a good enough reason for them to waive this RIDICULOUS balance.

I have used Nextdoor Electric once for actual work and also obtained three quotes from them. My…read moreusual electrical company, Blue Electrical Contractors, was super busy so I decided to try Nextdoor based on their Yelp reviews. I had them take down an old outdoor ceiling fan from my back porch and install two new ceiling lights: one in the same spot as the ceiling fan and the other over the seating area to provide more light (see photo). The job cost $572 which I thought was a little bit high, but I wanted the work done. Two big issues with the job: First of all, the technician didn't install the round ceiling light insulation discs in each fixture (see photo) which is to my understanding required to meet Underwriters Laboratory requirements. (The insulation is used to reflect heat from incandescent bulbs.) He also cracked one of the plastic conduit hangers so that it was actually broke. I found the insulation thrown in the garbage and had to dig them back out and have the technician come back to put them in and replace the broken hanger. Also, wasn't really keen on the fact that he used plastic hangers vs. metal to hang the conduit. Another issue was that I wanted a multi-outlet switch in my garage changed out to a standard outlet; see photo. Nextdoor quoted me $187 to change it out. Caido, from Blue Electrical Contractors stopped by and I had him look at it. It was only a cover; Caido unscrewed one screw and the regular outlet was underneath. I could have done it had I known this. It took Caid 5 seconds to take the multi-outlet cover off and he didn't charge me a thing. Okay. This is ridiculous! $187??!! This shows me the technician from Nextdoor Electric didn't even know what he was quoting. I was speaking to Caido from Blue Electric about Nextdoor and how I will never use them again, but can't understand their great reviews. Caido was telling me that Nextdoor's reviews could be fake and/or purchased. I really am questioning these reviews. I will never have them do any work for me again. Go with Blue Electric the next time you need electrical work; I have used them for years.

We recently needed troubleshooting for our home theater system and my husband made numerous attempts to reach someone at Empire for assistance. Calls were not returned and when he did manage to speak with someone about a service appointment, all he could get was "maybe we can stop by on Friday". Not exactly what we expected given the money we initially spent. Needless to say, no one showed up on Friday. We ended up finding another company that not only returned our calls, they sent a tech out a few days later who quickly resolved our issue. Then he went through our system and pointed out some optimizations that, honestly, should have been made during the installation. When you invest in Control4, any updates/changes have to be made through a dealer, so it's extra annoying when the dealer you purchased through no longer wants your business. We look forward to working with our NEW dealer to install additional home automation and home theater components.

Not sure about the "No job too small" claim…read more We had a great initial experience with them when they upgraded our Wi-Fi gear and ran Cat6 Ethernet wiring through our house. Nice work, professional, great customer service. Then... not so much. I called them a couple of years later, following post-storm home renovations (thanks, Gulf Coast weather), to get Wi-Fi working again and re-run Ethernet cables. Over the next couple of weeks, when I'd call to follow up, Kimberley would tell me that "the GM is working on the proposal," but never got return calls. Ghosted. Finally hired an independent IT guy to make the fixes, as well as for some followup reconfigurations on the Wi-Fi gear.

I hired them for a residential project, and Dan Penny and his team were true professionals from start to finish. While my project was residential, I know they also handle commercial work, and based on my experience, I would confidently recommend them for both residential and commercial projects. From the initial walkthrough to final installation, their level of knowledge and expertise was immediately apparent. They took the time to understand exactly what I wanted with my network and security camera setup and then made thoughtful recommendations to improve performance while also keeping costs in check. What really stood out was their efficiency and attention to detail. They found smart, clean ways to run cabling that minimized disruption while maximizing long-term reliability. Everything was done neatly and with a level of precision you typically only see in high-end custom work. Communication throughout the entire process was excellent--clear, timely, and proactive. They showed up when they said they would, stayed on schedule, and delivered exactly what they promised. It is rare to find a company that combines technical expertise, honesty, and craftsmanship at this level. Dan and his team exceeded expectations in every way. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, clean, and reliable installation.

Daniel is an awesome communicator and he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable. He loves what he does and it shows. He doesn't just recommend the most expensive products out there. He recommended quality hardware for us in our budget. Moreover he is prompt and responsive. What I appreciate the most however is his attention to detail and commitment to his work. He is one of a kind. Before and after pictures attached.
