We had a really great team dinner at Blue Moon TapHouse tonight for a group of about 40 people. I worked with Courtney A. in events to coordinate everything, and she was fantastic. She helped us put together an option that fit our budget, created a custom menu for the group, incorporated in our alcohol per person, and even added our company logo to the menus at each place setting, which was such a nice touch! Our servers, Kali, Ryan V., and Janese, were all wonderful--professional, friendly, and on top of everything. The food came out quickly, tasted great, and everyone seemed really happy with their meals, my chicken fingers tasted homemade and were not too breaded. Top notch. We ordered dessert for the tables and those all got finished. I'd definitely recommend Blue Moon TapHouse for a team event or large group dinner in Norfolk. read more

Came here for a concert and honestly forgot how much there is to do at Waterside. The space is huge and super open, which made it really easy to move around, grab drinks, and still have a great view of the stage. There was plenty of room to dance without feeling cramped, even as the crowd grew throughout the night. One thing I really liked is that there are bars set up all around the venue, so you're never waiting too long for a drink. It keeps the flow of the night going instead of everyone crowding into one area. The energy during the show was great, lively but still organized, and security and staff seemed on top of things without being overbearing. It's also nice that you're not limited to just the concert. You can easily turn it into a whole night out with all the dining and bar options inside. We walked past spots like Blue Moon Taphouse, The Fudgery, PBR Norfolk, and Stripers Waterside, which made it feel more like an entertainment district than just a single venue. There are options for everything from quick bites to sit-down meals, so you can easily grab food before or after a show. I'd say this is a great spot for live shows, sports watch parties, and festivals. The layout makes a big difference. It's spacious, easy to navigate, and a fun atmosphere that feels lively without being chaotic. Great spot along the waterfront to dine, relax, and do some people watching. The area is easily accessible from the downtown hotel area and it seems to be safe to just hang out and watch what is going on. I saw a nice little water fountain area with little kids running though the water sports while their parents sat in lounge chairs watching them. There is a large grassy area for a Frisbee game and many places along the boardwalk to stop in and eat. There is a good view of the military ships docked on the bay and even an old time sailboat. There is also a charter tourist boat that is docked at the small marina. It was very enjoyable to take a stroll after dinner. read more

Stopped inside after the outdoor flea market for some drinks before heading to get food. It was a Sunday around 1 pm and there was a decent sized busy crowd inside. We were able to get a couple of seats at the bar which was full all around. I asked the bartender for something fruity, whatever she wanted to do, and she gave me a peach schnapps drink (10/10) don't remember if there was a name for it but it was really good. We also had long islands (9/10) no real complaints. All of the drinks were strong and good, so I'll def come back here for drinks again. We went to miracle at waterside and it was okay. It's very cute inside, but the service was bad and we never got our food. They have an interesting drink menu where all the drinks seem complicated and overly sweet. We ordered three appetizers and never got them after waiting 45 minutes after ordering. Our server did not know we never got them and we had to ask for them to be taken off. Between the time we ordered appetizers to the time the bill came our server did not come back. Part of the issue is that at 1:30 pm when they opened, they sat the entire bar at one time, so the bar and kitchen started off rushed instead of spacing everyone out. The atmosphere was cute, but wouldn't go back, especially since it's primarily reservation only and a 10$ cover per a person. You'd think under those circumstances they would have everything together. Our server was nice but I don't know if it was just they were overwhelmed or what. read more

A beautiful bar with a wonderful vibe, however, they do scam you with some of these buy a drink and get a shot glass deal. It's very overpriced, to be expected. However, I ordered a naughty shot, on the menu it specified that a novelty shot was included in the price but they were out of the naughty novelty shot. I was still charged almost the full amount with just the shot. Just be careful when coming here, paid over $100 with just two people and a couple drinks. You also pay $10 per person without them notifying you, definitely not worth it. I've read several previous reviews that are similar to mine and the "owner" just responds to them in the same way without actual action. I'd say pass on this spot, plenty of christmas bars near the oceanfront who do more for less. read more

We stopped be on a whim as we wanted substance to hold us over for a while. We were the luckiest couple as we had Megan as our server. By far the best server I have seen in Norfolk. She was attentive and ensured we had our drinks filled, she realized that my old fashioned drink wasn't made correctly. She addressed it with her manager and fixed my replacement drink herself. A most excellent drink...had all the right stuff...smelled right, looked right and the taste was on spot. Thanks Megan!!! Before my old fashioned drink wasn't I had the Empress Lavender Haze. I was impressed . As the lavender syrup and lemonade smoothed out the gin's bite at the end. Definitely a summer/spring drink. As for food I had the pretzel but not as an appetizer but as my meal. It was HUGE! And tasted like it was freshly made. Not like the defrosted rewarmed type. If you are a pretzel person this is the one for you. My wife had the southwest bowl and loved every bite just shy of licking the bowl. This is a place I will earmark and come back to whenever in town! And we will be asking for Megan!! read more

Waterside District hosted the Norfolk Flea Market this past weekend and I am so happy I was able to attend. The day was absolutely beautiful and there were indoor and outdoor vendors as far as the eye could see. The vendors were selling items such as clothes, shoes, body butters, seasonings, crafts, earrings, paintings, art, tumblers...you name it, they had it. I met some amazing small business owners as well and was able to purchase products for my hair, body butters, earrings (Thanks Fina!) and homemade seasonings. It was a great experience and if they ever host it again, I will definitely attend. I highly recommend stopping by next time, you never know what goodies you'll find. read more

It's a two-story tourist destination, full of eleven restaurants plus bakeries, bars, video games, skeeball, a concert stage, sports betting, and more. We had dinner at the Blue Moon Taphouse and a giant Rice Krispie Treat from The Fudgery. The Waterside District reminds me somewhat of Boston's Faneuil Hall, Hartford's Parkville Market, and Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Market. It's a required stop if you're in Norfolk. read more

Not my first time at waterside District, however, it has very much changed in a positive manner. Went to the NYE New Year's Eve event purchased a VIP ticket. The staffing was great. They were a few hiccups that I did notice on New Year's Eve for the event, however, the VIP section was more than suitable. I can say the safety and the VIP section was impeccable and the bartending service was phenomenal. Updated upstairs section was more than safe previously there was a set of stairs. Best time I've had yet at waterside. Look forward to many more events. read more
