I love the atmosphere! My husband and I travel here few times out the month love the vibe here. Sometimes it's just us or we're here with friends it's always something going on such a lively event space rather you're upstairs or downstairs or even outside we have been here when different events take place as far as the war of the Wings, a taco festival and most recently the World Cup final. Definitely a packed house standing room only. But we was able to get a spot in a corner where we could see the TVs. TVs are all around as well as a large projector screen. Technically there's no bad spot if you're there to look at any type of sporting event or anything on the television's there. We did not have any food there but I did see that they were selling like burgers and fries and some other things. We did get our drinks from upstairs at the harbor Club. Our favorite bartender Sonya was there on post as usual. There was a cornhole tournament in progress so this space was closed for this private event. But Sonya has a super super fun personality... hospitality is always a 10 out of 10 definitely unmatched. Parking... we were able to park in the garage directly across the street from Waterside... it was storming out therefore parking in that garage we were able to use the catwalk to head over to Waterside so we didn't get any drop of rain on us. It's free to enter unless they have events that are taking place. But usually it's free. Check before you go if that's a concern but nevertheless it's always a fun time here. We enjoy it throughly. Have fun and enjoy life.:)

Came here for a concert and honestly forgot how much there is to do at Waterside. The space is huge and super open, which made it really easy to move around, grab drinks, and still have a great view of the stage. There was plenty of room to dance without feeling cramped, even as the crowd grew throughout the night. One thing I really liked is that there are bars set up all around the venue, so you're never waiting too long for a drink. It keeps the flow of the night going instead of everyone crowding into one area. The energy during the show was great, lively but still organized, and security and staff seemed on top of things without being overbearing. It's also nice that you're not limited to just the concert. You can easily turn it into a whole night out with all the dining and bar options inside. We walked past spots like Blue Moon Taphouse, The Fudgery, PBR Norfolk, and Stripers Waterside, which made it feel more like an entertainment district than just a single venue. There are options for everything from quick bites to sit-down meals, so you can easily grab food before or after a show. I'd say this is a great spot for live shows, sports watch parties, and festivals. The layout makes a big difference. It's spacious, easy to navigate, and a fun atmosphere that feels lively without being chaotic. Definitely recommend coming early, grabbing a drink, and exploring a bit before the event starts.

Great spot along the waterfront to dine, relax, and do some people watching. The area is easily accessible from the downtown hotel area and it seems to be safe to just hang out and watch what is going on. I saw a nice little water fountain area with little kids running though the water sports while their parents sat in lounge chairs watching them. There is a large grassy area for a Frisbee game and many places along the boardwalk to stop in and eat. There is a good view of the military ships docked on the bay and even an old time sailboat. There is also a charter tourist boat that is docked at the small marina. It was very enjoyable to take a stroll after dinner.

Stopped inside after the outdoor flea market for some drinks before heading to get food. It was a Sunday around 1 pm and there was a decent sized busy crowd inside. We were able to get a couple of seats at the bar which was full all around. I asked the bartender for something fruity, whatever she wanted to do, and she gave me a peach schnapps drink (10/10) don't remember if there was a name for it but it was really good. We also had long islands (9/10) no real complaints. All of the drinks were strong and good, so I'll def come back here for drinks again. I also snapped a photo of the weekly specials menu, gonna try to check all of those out eventually! My overall rate of experience : 9/10

Always a good time. No complaints here as long as the bar is open. Love the event schedule and the friendliness of the bar staff. This visit the bartender Michael totally made us a delicious drink off the cuff. It was so delicious. The Ambiance is always as it seems, very lowkey and casual. Can't wait to drop by again.

Nice spot with great vibes! I stopped in on a Norfolk visit, and the DJ was top tier! I also enjoyed the drinks and nachos from the restaurant in the back right. This is the perfect spot to bring a group, watch the game, catch a vibe, and enjoy a fun Friday night out!

We went to miracle at waterside and it was okay. It's very cute inside, but the service was bad and we never got our food. They have an interesting drink menu where all the drinks seem complicated and overly sweet. We ordered three appetizers and never got them after waiting 45 minutes after ordering. Our server did not know we never got them and we had to ask for them to be taken off. Between the time we ordered appetizers to the time the bill came our server did not come back. Part of the issue is that at 1:30 pm when they opened, they sat the entire bar at one time, so the bar and kitchen started off rushed instead of spacing everyone out. The atmosphere was cute, but wouldn't go back, especially since it's primarily reservation only and a 10$ cover per a person. You'd think under those circumstances they would have everything together. Our server was nice but I don't know if it was just they were overwhelmed or what.

Megan did a wondeful job at taking care of us. She was attentive to our needs and timing was great for dessert. Great atmosphere!

A beautiful bar with a wonderful vibe, however, they do scam you with some of these buy a drink and get a shot glass deal. It's very overpriced, to be expected. However, I ordered a naughty shot, on the menu it specified that a novelty shot was included in the price but they were out of the naughty novelty shot. I was still charged almost the full amount with just the shot. Just be careful when coming here, paid over $100 with just two people and a couple drinks. You also pay $10 per person without them notifying you, definitely not worth it. I've read several previous reviews that are similar to mine and the "owner" just responds to them in the same way without actual action. I'd say pass on this spot, plenty of christmas bars near the oceanfront who do more for less.

Not my first time at waterside District, however, it has very much changed in a positive manner. Went to the NYE New Year's Eve event purchased a VIP ticket. The staffing was great. They were a few hiccups that I did notice on New Year's Eve for the event, however, the VIP section was more than suitable. I can say the safety and the VIP section was impeccable and the bartending service was phenomenal. Updated upstairs section was more than safe previously there was a set of stairs. Best time I've had yet at waterside. Look forward to many more events. read more

We had so much fun walking through Selden's Market, the Public Library, waterside park, a tour of the historic buildings. It is so beautiful. The sidewalks are very wide, and the technology to protect walkers has been upgraded. No more running from traffic at street intersections. Heehee! It was dusk, so the street lighting was starting to turn on. Very pretty views of the water. It was nice to see the new city cruise ships parked at the pier. The Mount Vernon dinner cruise of the local waterway is vert nice, great dare night. read more

Waterside is so much fun. Parking in downtown Norfolk is almost always in one of the city garages and you pay by the hour or about $5 total if it's a special event night. Waterside has gone through a few iterations in the 18 years I've lived here, this is one of the best ones. Currently there is a main atrium area with a central bar and some walk-up shops and bars as well as some anchor restaurants - two of which have beautiful water views from their patio. They are good about hosting local craft markets and having seasonal things to do that are fun and bring people in. read more

She took care of our large group of 17 completely on her own -- 14 high school students and 3 adults -- and handled everything with incredible patience, kindness, and professionalism. From the moment we arrived, she welcomed us with such warmth and positive energy that she immediately made us feel comfortable and cared for. Despite our large and energetic group, every single order came out correct, drinks were constantly refilled before anyone even had to ask, and she checked on us often with a genuine smile. She stayed calm, organized, and attentive the entire time, which is not easy with a group of teenagers! She treated every student with respect and kindness, joking with them, making them laugh, and making them feel important. What stood out most was how much heart she put into serving us. Husonia didn't just do her job -- she truly took care of us like family. You could tell she genuinely cared that everyone had a great experience. The quiet atmosphere took away from what I imagine could be a lively and energetic spot. Based on the setup, it looks like it would shine much more on nights and weekends when crowds likely bring it to life. The area itself is clean and nicely designed, with a good mix of dining and entertainment options. It's clear they've put effort into making it a hub for social gatherings. Unfortunately, a daytime visit just didn't showcase its full potential. I'd recommend checking it out during peak times to get the real experience. This is a cool little spot in Norfolk Virginia. The first draw that made me come here was Guy Fieri's restaurant. More on that later. When I entered they were setting up for a Mardi Gras party. From what I could see there were several restaurants in the area with a lot going on. You could go for Chipotle, the Blue Moon Tap House, Cogan's Pizza, etc. It was mid-day so everyone was inside watching college basketball games. I love coming here now that it is renovated. I remember coming here when I was younger with my parents all the time. I remember the clubs from back in the day. I like it because the atmosphere is very mature and not a lot of kids running around. There are different food options inside and also drinks. I love going when there is live entertainment. Carolyn's Grilled Salmon with a charred pineapple-ginger emulsion was crazy good! Key Lime Pie dessert that we shared left us smiling. So overall this restaurant is just fantastic and will be on our go-to list for VA Beach. One small issue I have with our meal was timing. Entrees came out mid-appetizer, but that's an easy fix. We were there with friends for a GoLaugh Comedy show and had the chance to meet Laura, the owner. She was greeting and serving guests, helping employees, cleaning and clearing, checking on things, and was clearly invested in making sure everyone had a great experience. You can tell this place means everything to her. We'd already eaten dinner before arriving because the show started at 8pm, so we only ordered some drinks and the pretzel sticks with queso which were surprisingly outstanding, unlike any I've had before. They were warm, soft, steamy and chewy on the inside like a perfect breadstick with a pretzel-like exterior and what tasted like a light dusting of popcorn salt. Crazy good. The homemade queso was creamy, a little spicy, and absolutely delicious. The drinks were poured generously, the draft beer was ice cold, and the house-made Bloody Mary was really well balanced and a little spicy. The comedy show was excellent. Nick Deez was a hilarious storyteller, Samantha Lukasiewicz did a great job interacting with the audience, Jeremy Allen kept everything moving as host and producer, and Steve Swisher was a natural. It's hard to believe he's only been doing stand-up for about a year, he was super natural and very funny. The only negative was a group of loud patrons in the back of the comedy room who disrupted part of the show for us for a while. I would have liked to see the staff step in a little sooner, but they eventually left, and it certainly wasn't enough to take away from an otherwise great evening. There's a big open bar in the center with lots of seating on 3 sides, and colorful lights, open and comfortable, pool tables, darts, TVs, and plenty of hang-out space on the right, and a separate event room to the left that tightly fits about 70 people that was a fun, intimate comedy venue. I had to bring half of it home because the portions are so large. My friend had the wings, which are on special every Thursday, and had the fully loaded nacho platter. She enjoyed hers so much she was pitching menu items to new customers. If you haven't given this place a shot, please do. You are missing out. Great attitude, attentive, and things actually came out in a timely manner. Love to see it. I ordered a mojito and they did not play in my face.
