I went to the Miracle at Waterside Pop-up Bar and it was a cute, festive night out with friends. There were a few hiccups with communication with the kitchen and serving staff. My friend ordered the charcuterie board and it was supposed to come with a fig chutney but apparently they were out and that wasn't communicated. It was served without it and no one said anything until she addressed it and then she was told they were out and they tried to substitute it with strawberry jam. She ended up sending it back and they didn't charge us her for it. I had also ordered a buffalo chicken dip that took over an hour and by the time it would've come out it would've been nearly time to leave so I ended up just canceling it. Our server Lisa was really nice and attentive. The cocktails were really good too. I really enjoyed the Christmapolitan and the Run Run Reindeer. Overall I would go again and give it another try since it was opening week and I'm sure they had some kinks to work out. read more

What promise this space has. It was 1pm before restaurants started opening and only half did due to staffing. There was a dynamic mix of food and drink selections and not a bad view from anywhere. We rode scooters along the waterfront and took some photos, went in to warm up and bought fudge. There is a cupcake shop, Guy Fieri's grill, PBR with their mechanical bull, arcades, an event host for the playoffs, etc. The taco and pizza bar were closed. Sounds like a post-Covid issue with staffing but hopefully they bounce back! read more

Came to Portsmouth for a work trip. Stayed across the street at the Marriott. Ate at Waterside District. The food was amazing. The Calamari was delicious and the Southwest chicken bowl A plus. Stopped in just to check out the Waterside District. The place was basically empty except for workers. There weren't many businesses open even though the signs posted said they were operating their spring/summer hours. The kiddos played some of the arcade games and the corn hole board they had set up. We were able to walk around and go outside to see the Elizabeth River and the ferry. I would love to come back and visit when the place is kinda busy. There is a lot to do and see. We weren't happy with the food, but the staff was great! The bowl of she crab was the smallest portion of soup in a she crab bowl I've ever had. My son had the Mahi and the bone line really affected how it was cooked. Megan our server was great! She was friendly and attentive.
