Great spot for brunch! Food is decently priced and delicious. Service is good and they offer indoor and outdoor seating with great views of Shem creek!

Came here on a very rainy Saturday with my husband before dinner. It was pretty slow , so we got sat right away. The restaurant inside is really nice, we got sat by the creek view, so we got to see all the action. Our server came pretty fast as well to take our order. I ordered the cesear salad with fried chicken and a side of sweet potato fries. The cesear salad was good, dressing was creamy..I just wish they added more of it. Chicken was fried nicely and juicy. The sweet potato fries were crisp and not soggy which is always a plus. My one complaint about the service is that our table didn't get bread, every other table around us got bread. I didn't realize until we were almost done with our meal though. My husband got shrimp and fries, it was kind of pricey for a lunch and just okay. Nothing super amazing. It was nice to sit inside and get a view with it raining though. I will also say the cole slaw was really good...I know that's random. Not sure if we would come back, we may if we are bored with the other restaurants.

Overlooking the bustling water, this Shem Creek classic offers consistently good food and service at a relatively good value. We have dined there many times. We brought some visitors from out of town that enjoyed the experience and food. There is a good variety on the menu. We were promptly seated for our reservation by a kind host. Our server greeted us and provided drinks in a timely manner. We had a variety of appetizers. For dinner the shrimp & grits is excellent (benchmark against all of the local restaurants). The crab cake dinner is tasty with plentiful crab. The Shrimp scampi was a healthy portion and a solid choice. My mother enjoyed the fried shrimp dinner that was crispy with sweet potato fries. The server was hard working and friendly, but stretched between at least 3 large parties. While the interior may be somewhat dated, the experience on the water and consistently very good food makes this an excellent option. It is a solid -4- that is a good value and consistent. There are lots of options around Shem Creek - Water's Edge provides a predictable, good experience.

Great meal today! Our BnB host recommended this place, and we're so glad she did. Our server Amy gave us solid guidance on the menu, and we tried the Ahi Tuna salad (she was right about the salad dressing, yum), and Cubano (served with mojo sauce on the side like a French Dip, and they don't skimp on the pickles). Starters were oysters (we got the brinier option, from Canada, and they were fine. But I'm picky about my oysters) and Bang Bang Shrimp (husband says they are the best he's ever had. Very smart wine list (Merry Edwards, Paul Hobbs) that is fairly priced. And I know this seems like minutiae but I really liked their iced tea. We haven't seen them yet, but Amy says the dolphins come up the creek and hang out right outside the restaurant.

Such a good experience! The appetizers were delicious, our waitress was attentive, and the food came-- for the most part-- in a timely manner. Water's Edge has a great atmosphere with even better views. Would 100% return.

Delicious luncheon on Shem Creek at Water's Edge Restaurant in Mt Pleasant SC with my beau, Marc Cardinal. I give our experience 5s for food, service, and ambiance!

Our server was great. We went for dinner. The views were amazing as dolphins kept going up and down. Great local beer selection. As appetizer, we had the boom boom shrimp. Not very spicy but delicious. For entree we had the red snapper special. Delicious!!!

What a great place this is and they have great seating options. We went on a Friday evening after making reservations earlier in the day. The hostesses were very professional, even though being approached from all sides they remained calm and gracious. Our food was amazing, we weren't rush at all and enjoyed our evening thoroughly. Even ordered some desserts.

It was good, with decent flavor, though it was a little too fishy for my taste and a bit moist in the middle. Still enjoyable, just not perfect. Two people in our party got the grilled red fish. They liked it but wished the sauce had been served on the side instead of already mixed in with the scallions and tomatoes. The standout for me was the waffle fries - they were really delicious! Nice and crispy on the outside with a soft, almost mashed/pillowy texture inside. I've seen some complaints about them being too dry, but we thought they were excellent. Our waitress was fantastic - sweet, attentive, and made the whole experience better. Overall, a reliable spot for seafood in the area. We'd come back, especially for the fries and friendly service! Recommended for a casual seafood dinner.

It is such a pretty restaurant/rooftop. We ended up going all the way to the rooftop. Specifically because I wanted a view of the water. We ended up seeing dolphins in the water which was beautiful! Okay but moving on to the restaurant lol The shrimp appetizer was AMAZING. I had a mocktail that was delicious too. I ended up getting the house smoked bbq with two sides. My sides were Mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. The smoked bbq was disappointing, it was a tad on the saltier side and lots vinegar? Maybe not sure but it tasted bitter. The Mac and cheese was also not cheesy enough. It tasted like it came from a box unfortunately. The sweet potato fries were great. I am giving this place 4 stars because the staff were very nice and the appetizer along with drinks were great. I'd come back just for drinks and the view!

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the service throughout our lunch was attentive and welcoming. Everyone at our table loved their meals -- burgers, fries, and sandwiches all around with rave reviews. I ordered "The Bird," and it was absolutely delicious: perfectly cornmeal-breaded with a crispy fried crunch on the outside while staying incredibly moist and flavorful inside. Instead of cake, our group brought blueberry pies and vanilla ice cream, and the staff graciously took everything to the kitchen, sliced and plated the pie, added generous scoops of ice cream, and even placed birthday candles on each slice. Such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration extra special. The atmosphere along the water made it even better. Watching kayaks, paddle boards, and boats pass along Shem Creek while enjoying lunch was the perfect backdrop for a celebration. This has definitely become a new favorite spot for our group! I was a little worried when the website said call ahead seating was on hold thinking they would be slammed, but forged onward!' It was Sunday afternoon. I have read about nightmare parking but did not experience that at all. Zoomed right in. Yes, it was eleven bucks. I don't mind paying and refuse to get myself worked up over it. Ask for an outside table and no sooner did we sit down, the dolphins showed up!!! I consider myself an expert on dolphin spotting and had to show the table of 5 college age young ladies where they were located. They loved them as well. Who knew they would be so active in the middle of a busy waterway? As a former boat owner, I love watching those huge honkin' boats parallel park in between the baby ones. I do not have that skill , but it's entertaining to watch. Tyler was our server and was nice and attentive. Drinks were cold and quite good. I ordered a house Chardonnay and it was Cambria. Not crazy expensive either! Had shrimp tacos and steamed shrimp. So many steamed ones that I had a full meal the next day. I look forward to trying many more dishes. What I enjoyed the most was being part of a fun atmosphere in a fun place. Not a sad person in the place. That's always my attitude near any body of water. When I walked inside the decor was coastal rustic, which was appropriate given the outside of the building. When the hostess greeted me she said that they were on 45 minute wait on a Tuesday night for a two.... So I know at that moment that food was going to be amazing and it was!! I started out with She-Crab soup, being a native Marylander it's a hard to recognize that as real crab soup but it was really good. For dinner, I went with the grilled shrimp plate. The shrimp was well seasoned and served with slaw, cornbread, and fried grits. I couldn't eat it all but enjoyed every bite. They don't have a liquor bar and their beer and wine selection is limited but you're there for super fresh seafood, not wine... so it's ok!! The service was friendly and attentive. I sampled my nephew's fried grouper (delicious) and my husband's fried oysters (also good). If you want a hard drink with dinner, they offer beer and wine. Dessert was available but we passed. Yes, this place is known for being a dive, but we had a monsoon outside and not only was the ceiling leaking, but there was a huge puddle on the floor.
