Renters beware!! After moving out of the Le Blanc apartments they are not only are withholding my…read moresecurity deposit of over $2k, but are trying to charge me additional money to clean, paint and change carpets in our unit. The carpets were in bad shape to begin with when we moved in, and now they are charging us to replace them (eventhough this normally should be an accepted charge for managing and maintaining an apartment building that has years of use.) They also are claiming that because the apartment was not deep cleaned - absolutely nothing was left in the unit and we fully cleaned the place with some minor scuffs on the wall just from living - that it is beyond normal wear and tear of someone living in an apartment, eventhough there is photo evidence of the opposite. I had never not received a security deposit back, and now have to spend my time taking them to court because they are being the typical, greedy property manager people warn you about. It is also important to note that we moved out 5 months ago, and are just now getting to the legal process due to their complete delays in email responses, and we have only gotten answers after following up, occasionally multiple times. I will acknowledge the building manager Edie was very sweet and generally helpful while we were renting there, and their maitenance team was super responsive. Please think twice before renting with them if you want to see any bit of your security deposit back.

I had a very frustrating experience with the application process at Woodland House Apartments…read more Unfortunately, I received conflicting and misleading information throughout the process, which ultimately resulted in my application being denied after I followed the leasing office's instructions. I applied for a specific unit and paid an application fee as well as a $100 "holding deposit." I was not informed verbally, in the listing, or before paying that the unit would supposedly only be held for 72 hours. I only learned about this limitation later, while my application was still actively being processed. I was then told that my income was insufficient and was instructed to add a guarantor in order to proceed. Based on that instruction, another person completed an application, provided financial/credit information, and paid another application fee. After all of that, another employee told me that a guarantor could not resolve insufficient income in the first place and was primarily for issues such as credit. That left me wondering why I was instructed to have someone apply as a guarantor and pay another application fee if it could not address the stated reason for my denial. I repeatedly tried to clarify and correct these issues, but instead my application was ultimately denied. Management agreed to refund the $100 holding deposit but refused to refund either application fee and stated that they considered the matter addressed. I understand that not every applicant will qualify for an apartment. My issue is not that I was denied. My issue is how the application was handled, the contradictory information I received, and being charged additional fees after relying on instructions from the leasing staff. Based on the repeated contradictions and mishandling of my application, I have very little confidence in the leasing staff's competence or understanding of their own screening procedures. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that prospective applicants get every condition, screening requirement, holding-deposit term, and instruction in writing before paying any fees.

I have had a terrible experience with the management and customer service at Q Variel. The building…read moreitself is beautiful, but the communication, professionalism, and overall customer service from multiple levels of management have been extremely disappointing. From the very beginning, the leasing office had poor communication and our move in was delayed and had many complications because questions I had sent by email were not responded to. When our move in appointment consequently took longer than expected, the manager, Gohar, told us to wait in the lobby while she gave a tour. As paying tenants who were actively trying to move into our apartment, I found this completely unacceptable. We also had movers being paid by the hour waiting outside while we were sitting in the lobby waiting for management. During this situation, I spoke with the leasing manager, April, over the phone, and her attitude and customer service were incredibly disappointing. Once we finally got into our apartment, no inspection was completed with us. The manager went on break, and we never heard from her that day about completing the inspection. To make matters worse, our apartment was NOT move in ready. It was visibly dirty and had clearly not been properly cleaned. There was hair throughout the apartment, including in the shower, spills and shoe prints on the kitchen island, and paint splatters all over the floors and the hardwood floors were very dented and scraped. After spending over $7,000 to move in, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect an apartment to actually be clean. When I brought this to management's attention, I was told that I could use the complimentary cleaning service that comes with move in. This was incredibly frustrating. The apartment wasn't properly cleaned in the first place, and I was being asked to use my complimentary cleaning service to clean up the previous tenant's mess. Approximately two weeks later, cleaning staff sent out, but they only cleaned the floors and addressed a few wall scuffs. The bathrooms were not properly cleaned or even addressed. I was also told that marks in the shower were considered normal wear and tear, yet I was personally able to remove them myself with nothing more than a paper towel and water. I should not have to clean a previous tenant's shower and that is disgusting. The move in inspection itself was not completed by management until several weeks after we had already moved in. I also had two conversations with the regional leasing manager, Allison, because I genuinely hoped someone at a higher level would take the situation seriously, help resolve the issues, and potentially offer some form of compensation given the experience. I was told I would hear back from her, but I never did. I have attempted to reach her for weeks without receiving a response. Eventually, I received a response from manager Filipe, who told me that he and his assistant were my only points of contact. When I explained that I had specifically been told Allison would be contacting me, he simply repeated the same information. I attempted to call because I did not want to continue sending emails explaining the same situation over and over when management was already fully aware of what had happened. Filipe stated that he would only handle the matter through email. Why does it matter? The calls are recorded anyways? They never want to face the issue at hand and just want to email the same crap without helping. On top of everything else, our AC has never worked properly and neither has our dryer. We have attempted to have these issues addressed multiple times and have ultimately reached the point where we've given up. I have talked to multiple other tenants who claim to have the same issue and said that they have also given up too with trying to resolve it so it is not just my unit. Maintenance has checked the temperature, essentially said that it works, and left, despite the fact that it does not function properly from our experience living here. The concierge staff has also given me incorrect information on multiple occasions. They seem to be able to assist with basic things like opening the door and packages, but when it comes to questions about the property or resident services, I've repeatedly received inaccurate information. The most frustrating part of this entire experience is that I am not asking for anything unreasonable, them not being willing to offer any form of compensation is terrible customer service. I simply want someone to actually take ownership of the problems, communicate with me, and make a genuine effort to resolve them. Instead, I have repeatedly felt like I am being passed around and given corporate, robotic responses rather than speaking with people who genuinely care about their residents. I would not choose to live here again and would not recommend Q Variel to anyone who values responsive communication and good customer service.

Reasons Not to Move Into The Q Variel Apartments…read more I never wanted to write a review like this, but after more than six months at The Q Variel apartments, the repeated lack of responsiveness, follow through, and basic care from management left me feeling like we were on our own anytime something went wrong. Issue after issue went unanswered, unaddressed, or dismissed, and over time it became clear that resident concerns were simply not treated as a priority. I held off on posting this because I genuinely hoped things would improve, but they didn't and future residents deserve to know what living here was actually like for us before making a decision they may regret. What follows is a detailed, honest account of the experiences we personally had during our stay. #1 Electric Vehicle Charging is a nightmare The valet does not actually charge your car, even though you still have to pay for valet service. The chargers in the valet area are underground, and there is no cell reception, so the smart chargers often can't connect and don't work properly. In over six months of living here, we have not successfully charged our car ONCE in this comple When we asked management what we were supposed to do, their response was that we could pay extra to park in the guest parking and use the chargers there. In other words, we'd need to pay more to access working chargers. There are only about 6 chargers in valet for 40+ Teslas plus other EV's using the building, so even if everything worked perfectly, access would still be extremely limited. #2 Major Privacy Issues + Disrespectful Management Behavior The living room blinds are practically see-through, which means anyone walking by can look straight into your apartment, especially at night with lights on. There is almost no privacy in your main living area. We installed simple bamboo sticks on our balcony to create privacy, and instead of discussing it with us, Felipe (the manager) entered our apartment without our consent to "inspect an issue related with our dryer" Afterwards, management billed us over $700 in fees and multiple emails threatening legal actions just for trying to create basic privacy that the apartment itself fails to provide. #3 Terrible Sleep: Light Leaks Through Blinds & You Can't Replace Them The bedroom blinds allow a huge amount of sunlight in the moment the sun rises. They're not blackout at all, and you cannot install your own blackout blinds, so you're forced to deal with poor sleep every morning. Every day around 6 AM, the garbage trucks arrive and are unbelievably loud. Combined with the light leaking through the blinds, getting uninterrupted rest here is nearly impossible. #4 The Dryer System Is a Complete Failure The dryers in the building have no proper ventilation, forcing you to do extremely tiny loads. Maintenance once told us our load was "too big" when we had three towels inside. Our dryer has stopped working over 12 times in 6 months. Each time, maintenance resets it, blames us, and tells us to "do smaller loads," even though the machines clearly cannot handle normal use. #5 Unprofessional, Rude, and Dismissive Management Most interactions with management are unpleasant. Emails go unanswered for weeks, questions get brushed off, and any issue you bring up is handled with irritation instead of care. #6 No explanation behind utility charges Each month, we receive a utility charge without any breakdown of how the amount was calculated or what our actual usage was. One month, we were away for the entire month, barely using the apartment at all and still received high utility charges. We asked management multiple times for a usage breakdown or explanation and were told they would get back to us. We never received that breakdown. So far, we have been expected to simply accept the charges without any transparency. #7 Maintenance Often Marks Jobs as "Completed" Without Fixing Anything Maintenance tickets are frequently closed without actually resolving the issue. Some repairs last a day or two before breaking again. #8 Serious safety concern, building fire alarm left unreported by management We recently experienced a building-wide safety issue that was extremely concerning. The building smoke alarm went off with the entire hallway filled with smoke, the alarm continued ringing for about 20 minutes with no response or communication from management. After seeing no visible action or communication being taken, we decided to call the fire department ourselves. When we spoke with them, they informed us that NO ONE had contacted them at all about the alarm. This means management not only failed to show up or address the situation, but also failed to notify local authorities about a potential fire hazard I understand that no building is perfect, but unfortunately, the combination of persistent issues and the lack of support made it impossible for us to feel at home here. We truly wish our experience had been different.
