I have been living at Toscana Apartments for almost 3 years, and I must say it has been an exceptional experience. From the moment I moved in, the staff has been incredibly friendly and helpful. The property is well-maintained, and the amenities are top-notch. The apartment itself is spacious, modern, and well-designed. The kitchen is a dream, and I love the open layout of the living space. The attention to detail in the design is evident, and it truly feels like a home. One of the standout features of Toscana Apartments is the sense of community. There are regular events organized by the management that allow residents to connect and build relationships. It's a great way to meet neighbors and make friends, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The maintenance team is prompt and efficient. Any issues or concerns I've had were addressed promptly, and the staff always made sure I was satisfied with the resolution. The location is also fantastic. It's convenient to shopping centers, restaurants, and major highways, making it easy to get around the city. Overall, I highly recommend Toscana Apartments to anyone looking for a comfortable and vibrant community. The combination of excellent staff, well-maintained facilities, and a sense of community make it a standout choice for apartment living. Please ask for Lydia. She is a sweetheart of a woman, tiny but mighty. read more

As a Tenant very unsatisfied with the Upkeep of the Property and the Attitude of the Property Manager Lydia. The Intercom Phone at the Front of the Building has been broken for over 2 Months so cannot buzz people in. Must go downstairs to let them in. Outside Property is being Neglected by Management. Tall Pine Tree Brown and rotten for close to a year. Very dangerous with low hanging branches ready to break off. Lights I Hallway that also light up the stairs periodically not coming on at night. Pitch Black everywhere very dangerous. Not living up to the Terms of the Lease as to what you're paying for. Rent and especially Water very high. read more

Toscana Apartments - Apartments Near Me - Van Nuys, California

Walls are too thin. You can hear your neighbors do everything including use the bathroom. Community Manager isn't very helpful. Lydia and Yesica are extremely biased. Good luck. Noisy and busy street. A few roaches. Their corporate office lacks accountability for renting a poorly insulated building. Not ideal if you work from home, sleep, or need peace. I wouldn't recommend living here. read more

I am deeply disappointed by how this property management company has handled my situation. Despite providing them with a valid restraining order that legally allows me to break the lease for my safety, they have refused to remove me. This is not only unethical but also illegal under tenant protection laws for survivors of abuse. They are doing this to illegally hold my security deposit and refuse to give it back to me despite the fact that I presented the restraining order in March. I feel helpless dealing with this property manager who continues to ignore my legal rights and my safety concerns. No tenant should have to fight this hard to protect themselves when the law is clear. If you are considering renting here, know that you may not be supported in serious matters like this. I would never recommend a property management company that ignores state laws and puts tenants at risk. They are in clear violation Of California Civil Code §1946.7, which allows victims of domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault, or abuse to terminate a lease with 14 days' written notice and proper documentation (police report or restraining order). read more

A big thank you to Toscana and Lydia for always being helpful and accommodating anytime I have a concern or need assistance. A couple times I've needed urgent help and they've almost always been incredibly responsive and most importantly, understanding in times of urgent need. read more

Great management and fantastic community events! The apartment units are nice and it's next to the 405 which is convenient

Visited my friend here the other day and i was so impressed with how clean and nice the building is ! Property manager is so a great job !

I absolutely love the manager, Lydia! she is so friendly and welcoming every time I speak with her on the phone. The building is always clean and well-maintained, which really shows how much care goes into creating a comfortable environment for residents. It truly feels warm and inviting, and I can already picture myself living here and feeling right at home. This seems like a wonderful community. read more

I toured this building and it was beautiful very clean nice view and loved the pool area. The onsite manager was wonderful, not rude like most managers. We ended up renting elsewhere because it was closer to my mom. read more

Rude & difficult to get a hold of anyone at the building. Left messages at corporate and with the "manager", it was days before anyone tried to call me back. read more

I have been at these apartments for several years and am very happy staying here. We feel very safe here with our kids. The community is well kept and clean. The pool and bbq area are a plus. Our manager Lydia is very helpful as well. She is quick to respond within her office hours and is even willing to schedule time with us outside of her working hours. Our elevators used to reek of marijuana and I'm happy our concerns were addressed. Very professional management team. read more

I've lived at Toscana Apartments for two years now and I've had a pleasant experience so far. The location is great, with proximity to grocery stores, gas stations, and dining options. The complex is well-maintained and clean and maintenance stays on top of things. The apartments are spacious and there's a great backyard area with a pool and barbecue. The cherries on top are the ability to pay rent online, the FOB/intercom system to enter the building, and the secured mail area. I did have to take off one star because management could use some work. For some reason, we're always getting a new manager, which has been annoying. Not to mention, that management isn't the most responsive and has very limited hours...which only happen to be during the day when people are at work and can't stop by :/ read more

I have been living here for about 3 years and it has been nothing but great it's a nice quiet building with a pool and grassy area. Whenever there is a problematic resident the manager does a great job of getting them out or getting them to stop. I see some of the bad reviews and these are the exact people that caused issues ignore those reviews I imagine it's just butthurt people that didn't get their leases renewed. Great management great maintenance. Great place to rent. read more

Lydia (manager) was contacted whom then replied to let me know some of the issues we encountered were fixed. Which they were (maintenance was constantly parking in my parking spot) her solution was to park in other parking spots. Which was annoying after coming home from a 12 hour shift. After letting me know she gave me a solution for that she told me she was no longer my point of contact. She did not give me further information (number and name were not provided for who I may contact) . I decided to look all that information and sent a detailed letter with proof to the company but up until this day no one has contacted myself or husband. read more

If I could give it a 0 star rating I would. I have been living here happily since September 2020. Everything was fine until Lydia Arteaga become the new yet beyond mediocre property manager. Beware of her inefficiency, she lies about the deposits to pay, overcharges you and never answers emails; yet always acts as a victim. She's never available, works 4 hours a day yet takes breaks whenever she feels like it. Totally unprofessional, I'd suggest you re-evaluate your decision of living here unless she rightfully gets fired as I believe she should. She hurts the business of her own company by evidently being unfamiliar, inexperienced and beyond ignorant. Be careful when she says "I'll follow up on that" translated it means "I don't know and I don't care". Again, it's a wonderful place to live in but be careful dealing with this dishonest and unprofessional person. I have never witnessed such poor customer service and so much ignorance displayed. read more

I would recommend staying here simply because the Toscana community is quiet, comfortable, laid-back, and overall a pleasant place to live in my opinion. Also, Ms. Lydia, the Manager, is awesome. I have been here for about 4 years read more

I lived here for 3 years and as far as the units and grounds themselves, it was fine. Except I had a patio that was directly next to the smoking area and I have asthma so that sucked for 3 years. Secondly they can't keep a landlord for more than a year which is an annoyance but oh well. But the real issue with this place is that they take ADVANTAGE of their tenants. They NEVER sent me or gave me a copy of my full lease agreement even though I've repeatedly asked them to. And her response was they don't print those cause there's too many pages. And yet they can post unnecessary notices on every door of the building every month. She said it's on the portal, but the full lease is not on there. I lost my job during covid and yet still managed to pay my last 6 months of my lease there while talking to Brittany, the current manager, about trying to move out early. She knew about the troubles. I told her verbally I would not be renewing my lease that ended on dec. 31,2020. I sent an email on the 4th stating that I would not be renewing my lease. And yet I was charged for a full month of January 2021. Now I have 2100 due to collections because I can't pay it due to losing my job. My unemployment is going to my bills that I still have. Tell me how that's okay with them. Taking advantage of their tenants during a pandemic. I've called and sent emails to them about this but all I got back was an email from collections. So now I need to take them to small claims court over a month of rent I wasn't even there for. read more

I have been a resident at Toscana Apartments for the past 3 months now and I have to say that living here exceeds my expectations. The building is overall quiet (with the exception of some noise during rush hour), it remains clean, and the greenery on the property is beautiful. If you don't have great credit they'll bilk you out of a hefty 5k double deposit then screw you over on the refund when it's time to leave! , I was there for three years and never caused any problems and right when I complained because my car was stolen due to their broken security gate system they immediately gave me my notice which was less than a month, actually I only had a couple of weeks to leave! , The management is horrible, smug, think they're above others , narcissistic DOUCHE BAGS! The manager is the biggest phony as well, like fake smile friendly but will stab someone in the back (which I'm sure she's done to many!) very shady, they added up all these extra charges to keep my money instead of return it when I went out of my way to clean the walls in the entire apartment the floors were already damaged from a flood but they charge me for those anyway even though it wasn't my fault, they even charge me 200 bucks for the smoke alarm when it was brand new it just wasn't connected to the ceiling , they charge me for shower doors that I had already fixed and all kinds of other things that were not necessary, it's ok though, they know who they are and what they have done, and when their karma returns they WILL KNOW WHY! Yup, I smile knowing that they will reap what they have sewn, as above, so below! read more

I just moved here in June and I must say my experience has been good so far. The leasing consultant is very nice and helpful. Although I think the operation hours suck (8am-12pm) I still think he does a good job getting back to me. Maintenance request have a fast turnaround time as well. My only complaint doesn't have to deal with the property just the people with dogs. often times people don't clean up behind their dog. I've seen dog urine in the hallway and the back area near the pool has dog sh*t. For the most part there is little noise, such a nice controlled environment. No parties or loud music. The building is kept clean by the property management and the things that aren't is somewhat out of their control. So far so good read more

I lived here for a year and a half and only left because of life circumstances (moved in with boyfriend and moved closer to work). There were three land managers (the first left only a couple weeks after I moved in). They were all great, our second one whose name escapes me at the moment, helped stop an annoying smoking alarm chirp that went on for two weeks. The last, most recent land manager, Christine, has been great, super personable and very easy to contact. The complex updated the thermostats to Nest Thermostats, which was awesome and helped me save on power since the air conditioning would stop when I left and not keep going if I forgot to turn it off. Maintenance was responsive and took care of things. Lastly, the kitchen (in the one bedroom apartment anyway since that's what I had) was amazing and what anyone who likes to cook truly wants and isn't widely available in Los Angeles (at that budget level anyway). It was a huge U shape, with so much counter space. Wish it came with a fridge so I didn't have to buy one only to look for a new owner for it when my next apartment did come with a fridge, but I blame LA, mostly the Valley. read more

Nicole is great. Facilities are kept up and maintained fairly well. Tandem parking is always somewhat of a pain, but no surprise there. Some cockroaches in the kitchen but I haven't seen in any for a couple months now which is good. Central AC works well. Dishwasher works alright. Hot water in the shower takes a couple minutes to warm up but that's ok. Not a huge fan of carpet, but I chose it so I can't complain about that lol. Decent sized living room is nice. Some airplane noise from the Van Nuys airport, but not typical at night. Nice palm trees in the backyard. Pool seems nice, I've been meaning to hop in sometime now that it's warming up a bit! Handful of stray cats live in the neighborhood and hang out in the garage quite frequently. They're skittish for the most part. Overall, a comfortable living experience. read more
