These guys are the best. After a bad storm in December, I had some water coming in through my ceiling. I called two companies -- one of them said they would do a drive-by and e-mail me an estimate (they never did). Waterman was able to have someone out the next day. Andy was very thorough in his inspection, discussion of the options, and even went up into the attic to check the roof from the inside. He wore a mask at all times while talking to me or inside the house. I got a detailed estimate by e-mail the same day. As soon as I sent in the deposit check, he came out to put a temporary patch on the roof, since the weather was going to prevent a full roof replacement until March.
Then I got a surprise call from the office at the end of January, saying the weather was going to be warm enough to get the job done, and they had an opening at the end of the week. Friday morning, they showed up with a big crew, and got to work. The foreman was also very thorough, and measured the joists to make sure the nails wouldn't penetrate the ceiling in the parts where it's right up against the joists. He also wore a mask at all times when talking to me. By early afternoon, the job was completely done, and that included partial removal of an old chimney. The site was very thoroughly cleaned up, and apart from the new roof, you couldn't even tell that anyone had been there. We had a slight issue afterwards that I had to follow-up on, but I got a call back from the foreman within an hour of leaving a message at the office. He went over the options with me on the phone, and the issue was resolved to my satisfaction.
The price was very reasonable -- accounting for inflation, it was actually cheaper than the new roof installed on my old house in Somerville in 2006. But more importantly, these guys clearly care about getting the job done right, and talking to their customers. When we have to replace the 30 year old vinyl siding in a couple of years, I'm going to give them a call again. read more
