This company is a joke ! James was assigned by my insurance to locate a slab leak. First time he showed up, he plain refused that there is even a leak. When we turned the water main on, and the entire garage flooded with water, we called back the insurance. Mind you, he has Zero leak detection equipment with him ! Second time around, James shows up admits there is a water leak but has no clue where it is from. He then quotes me $380 to change dripping faucet in the far side bathroom, as he "believes" that could be causing the substantial water leak in the garage. Hate writing bad reviews because the technicians aren't the ones at fault. The lady Julie who gave me a quote of $165 to come out and fix my leaky pipe didn't tell me it's a per hour rate. The technician, Eddie, also told me when he got here it's $165 plus parts. 2 hours later, no fault of anyone else, it's the HOA who turned off the water late, ended up telling me that $165 is a per hour rate. No point of arguing with them because the quotation was thru the phone and the lady said she told me it's per hour. So I ended up paying an extra $330. Not an honest business and I will never use them again. I told the friend who referred them to me to not to use them too. Get everything in writing is what I am saying. Buyers beware. read more

I originally was referred to Water Works by my home warranty company, so I was skeptical - they've sent some pretty questionable repair people in the past. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the service I received. I share a wall with my neighbor, who the plumber could hear working on the other side, and since he had come to clear a clog in my drain which he suspected was past the point of where my plumbing merged with my neighbor's, he insisted on going next door to see if the workers there had done anything to cause the clog. He was professional, friendly and thorough. Fast forward to when I was having some insurance repairs done, and encountered a situation where my contractor needed to send his plumber out for some out-of-scope work, his plumber didn't call me back for a day and a half! I remembered how great Water Works was, so I called them, and they were able to get a couple of guys out right away to solve my problem. Problem: Running Toilet and clogged Bathroom Sink that wouldn't drain. We called and received quotes from several other plumbers, handymen, and rooter services from yelp reviews, the local santa clarita monthly magazine, and large chains. We had issues with high prices, awkward quote meetings, and the inability for most of these places to work Saturdays. I read the reviews for Water Works Plumbing and saw all the positive comments. More importantly, I saw that they worked Saturday mornings. I called in on a Thursday afternoon and scheduled an appointment for that Saturday at 10 am. I was given a window for arrival between 10 am - 12 pm. I received a phone call 20 minutes prior to arrival. I can't remember the two gentlemen's names that arrived, but they were kind, friendly and professionals. They checked out the toilet and the sink. They assessed the problems and told us what they could do to fix the problem and approximately how long it would take them. They went to their truck to get a quote on parts and write up a formal breakdown. When they came back, they gave us a few options and made no pressure to upsell anything. With the more expensive option, they were still cheaper than one of their competitors. They left to go pick up materials, took a few hours to complete the jobs, and cleaned up after themselves. Entering the home with a smile on their faces and leaving with a smile as well. It has been a few weeks and everything is working perfectly. I scheduled my regular sewer maintenance of the main line out of my house. This routine was done on time every 6 months to break up roots found in the sewer pipe on 11/20/09. I've had a house full of guests at times and no problems by maintaining the roots. This past time on 4/3/13 the snaking did not cut the roots properly as sewage started to backup through my downstairs toilet and shower onto the floor. I called the company head, James, and explained that the maintenance did not work. He did not want to return and said he would return the cost in full by check. The cost was $125 just for the maintenance, a $30 increase from 6 months ago without notice to me till the job was done and I saw the invoice. When they came for the maintenance, I had requested prior that I needed them to look at other plumbing problems and give a quote as to how to fix the problems and cost of repair. Prior to snaking he replaced without asking me or telling me the price, an outside hose faucet, as well as the water heater valve which had nothing wrong with it. He then decided the new problem was at the master bath handle. He left for quite a while to get equipment to find leaks and to find the bath handle part. He could not find the part yet when I went later on my own to the local plumbing store they had the part and it still was not the problem. If he had come back with the part he said it would be $250, so glad I did it myself! I was given a partial written quote on my invoice for finding a water leak, but not what the range of repair cost would be in total. When I got the check for the sewer maintenance it was only for the cost of the valves, $58.73. I called to ask why when the issue was that the sewer maintenance did not work, and I'd have to pay someone else to snake now plus had raw sewage backing onto my bathroom floor. The woman on the phone was rude and just kept telling me they were there for 3 hours and they would not pay me back a penny more. I explained they had left, they did not have the proper equipment to hear leaks and it was not the issue, getting a quote. I was not even asking for the valve cost which was totally unnecessary. She asked me to call back because I had a bad phone connection. When I did, she just said forget it, we don't want to do business with you and you are not going to see a penny more, and hung up on me. The main issue is the principle of not coming back to do a job that was not done properly, but also leaving me with a raw sewage backup. I'm low income, so this amount of money is huge for me, let alone having guests here and losing a bathroom because of sewage. I've had other contractors come to give quotes on the leakage issue and it took a while yet no charge and no complaining. Waterworks has no clue that treating a customer with respect and making good on a regular maintenance job could have given them more work. Instead they got angry.And I'm out the cost of the maintenance work and left with raw sewage coming up when a toilet flushes or a load of wash runs. read more

After speaking on the phone, making an appointment for a free estimate and agreeing on a general price of $200 for a leaking T valve in my attic, he arrived, took a look and showed me a scratch paper that said $367. He also told me that if I wanted to have water right away, he would have to use a special glue that is more expensive, otherwise I would have no water at all for 24 hours while the "regular glue" cured. If you are a plumber, shouldn't you always be using the kind of glue that dries immediately so that people can use the water immediately? I told him that was way over the telephonic estimate and asked him to break down the price for me into parts, labor, etc. He went out to his truck and then came back and showed me the same scratch paper with three numbers: one parts, one labor, one total price. I was expecting an official write up on a company form with the parts broken down as to which part was what price. The labor was $250 for a one hour job. Then he wouldn't even hand me the scratch paper. He kept leaning over and showing it to me on his clipboard. I told him I felt it was too much money and I would call another plumber. Before leaving, he had the gall to ask if anyone had "mentioned a service charge". No, it was supposed to be a free estimate... He sheepishly said, "That's all I needed to hear." Really? So, if my husband hadn't told me it was a free estimate, you would have screwed me for a service charge? Nice. Overpriced. Unprofessional. Unethical. read more

The first time they hydro jetted my out side yard drain and drains around my pool - remodelers buried my drain under new grass, they were able to hydro jet through and clear out my drain and find out where the other end was hidden. The second time my kitchen sink was clogged, they came the same day I called and were in and out in less than 20 minutes. I had a local plumber that I found on Yelp for a sewer drain that was potentially clogged. They arrived and claimed I had a broken sewer pipe under the foundation that would cost $2,500 to jackhammer up to repair. Called my home warrant company that sent out Water Works to repair. James called me first to assess the situation and decided to respond immediately. He arrived and re-snaked the pipe and used a very high quality camera. He found there was no broken sewer pipe and the sewer was now usable. This saved me a week of no sewer pipe (no toilet, no showering, no sink use) for my family and a large headache. Without him, I would have to of waited one week for anything to get done and a large mess from jack hammering the tile up. James was very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. These are the sweetest most considerate and thorough group of professionals you could ask for. They went right to work, diagnosed the problem and presented an estimate to replace my garbage disposal. My problem was a leak under my kitchen sink. When they said I needed a new disposal I remembered I had insurance that could cover this. They told me to call my insurance and they would go back to their truck and wait until I contacted them to see if a disposal is covered. In about 15 to 30 minutes I went out and thanked them and told them it was covered and asked them what this service call would cost. They said nothing but asked if I would recommend them to my friends. This is my second experience with Water Works where they left without compensation. Last time they were only here for 15 minutes for a stuck faucet and they left without charging me anything.
