I had a leaking water heater and called Water Heaters Only. Christian T. came out on October 8, 2018 and installed a new one. He took his time and did a nice job with the install. He re-did the bracing to code and adjusted the venting. The only issue was that the next morning my kids smelled gas in the garage. Three days ago, my 14-year old waterheater started to leak, accumulating water in the pan. Contacted WHO, Inc. for a quote. Describing the current water heater model and infrastructure, WHO, Inc. was able to quote me over the phone. The quote was excellent and I decided to hire WHO Yesterday, the technician Thomas came by and did a change out of the water heater. Thomas executed the job very professionally, bringing the installation to current code. It was a pleasure watching Thomas work, very focused and expedient. This review has to do with the person who answers the calls. I called him this morning to request a free estimate but he refuses to make an appointment and demands that if he sends someone out that I would HAVE to buy a replacement water heater. Absolutely ridiculous and big red flag. How do you know the water heater needs replacement without looking at it? That is not how you run an honest business. Too bad, their plumber Ron was really nice and I was hoping I could schedule him for an appointment. You just lost a potential customer. read more

An hour later I replied again looking for an update to which they finally responded saying they don't carry parts for our model. My water heater - which was about 10 years old - simply stopped working on Saturday morning. I tried several times, and the pilot would not re-light. I found the Water Heaters Only phone number the old fashioned way - by looking it up in the local yellow pages. I called them around 10a on Saturday, and spoke with Bill who suggested that I first try to replace the thermo coupler myself on my unit and that might fix the problem. I'm pretty handy around the house, and his description was very clear so I figured I'd try that first. I appreciated his suggestion, and that he did not go right into selling me a new water heater that I may not have needed. So I went down to the local hardware store. I got the inexpensive thermo coupler, and installed it. I tried the pilot re-lighting process again several times, and unfortunately it just didn't work. Around 1p I decided to call Bill back, and explained the situation. Then he explained that it might be a faulty gas control valve - which is a very costly part. It didn't make much sense to put a new expensive valve on my old water heater so I told him I just wanted to go ahead with installing a new water heater. Bill said he would schedule an installation for me, and that it might be the next day (Sunday). I said that sounds good, and then I expected to only wait a day to have the device installed. A short time after this their dispatcher called me back to explain that their technician in the area - Fabian - had an opening at that he could actually come out around 2p-3p on Saturday to install the new unit. This was great. Fabian showed up during the specified time and promptly removed my old unit and installed the new one. As he did the work he very clearly explained what he was doing and what would happen with the plumbing in the house with the change. He completed the job in a little over an hour and we had hot water again about 45 mins after that. Overall it was a very good experience and I'd recommend Water Heaters Only to my friends if they needed a referral. read more

Woke up to no hot water and called the team at Water Heaters Only. They got my make and model over the phone and then told me my water heater was almost 20 years old and would probably need to be replaced. They committed to having someone over within 1 - 2 hours. We had a positive experience with Water Heaters Only replacing our water heater through our home warranty. They came out to our leaking water heater within 24 hours of the service call, made a quick diagnosis, and had everything needed to replace our water heater then and there. Unfortunately there were several "modifications" that we were charged for (such as earthquake straps which we already had) which they just reused which was a bummer but overall David was a hard working and efficient serviceman who took care of our problem quickly. Awesome experience! My water heater went out so called my home warranty company to have it looked at. They ended up sending Neil from water heaters only and very thing couldn't have gone any better. Neil was at my residence within a couple hours to diagnose the problem and installed a new water heater the very next morning. I have a 100 gallon water heater that decided to leak within the warranty period. This review should be a 4.5+ which is almost as good as it gets. They initially did not want to replace the 100 gallon tank because the system they now carried was too wide for the crawl space in which the new water heater had to go. However, they came up with a great solution of two 50 gallon water heaters which would also give us a backup in the future should one of them leak. In fairness the new solution was significantly cheaper than the original solution. I have to give a special kudo to David, their installer. He was great trying to accommodate us from the start as well as working so diligently to get the new water heaters installed quickly. He was meticulous and took extreme care with the floors and cabinetry in our house. I would absolutely use them again. They are very good and I highly appreciate their work. Some slight modifications were needed to the water heater storage room (at our cost but he was crystal clear as to why it was at our cost). I was referred to Water heaters only inc by Fedelity home insurance! Our problem was never addressed and the tech showed my roommate how to turn up the heat and some bs that there must me so much calcium deposits in my tank and that's why we have our issues! Our problem was that it would turn on and off at random times not temperature (electrical box on water heater) Hopefully this will be resolved ASAP! I don't write bad reviews but a 3 hr window miss work and have no resolution costs everyone valuable time and money! Now they will need to give me another 3 hr window and cost me and my roommate more time away from work!!!! 3 stars bc I'm sure this doesn't happen often based on previous reviews I've read, so maybe this isn't the normal! read more

I had a bad thermocouple, according to the guy from the gas company, so I called water heaters only. On the phone the guy told me I needed a new water heater and it would be $3000. I told him the gas guy said all I needed was a thermocouple and he told me to change it myself and hung up. The thermocouple cost me about $9 and to his credit it was easy to change myself. But any business that tells you you need to give them $3000 to fix your problem before bothering to come out and give an in person assessment deserves one star. read more
