When I installed my Rheem water heater that I got from home depot, the dial of the control panel was stuck and wouldnt go past hot. Unfortunately, the water heater installer left and wouldnt return, but Rheem customer service was able to 2-day ship a replacement unit and scheduled a local installer free of charge. Pedro came early with a smile. He found a small leak due to the improper installation on one of water line and fixed it right away without any fuss. He replaced the control panel with such mastery, and completed the job in less than 30 minutes. He was very friendly and helpful with all kinds of questions that I had. Thank you Drain Rite plumbing, you have the "right" kind of personnel working for you. His quote for a future water heater installation is also a lot less than what most plumber would charge. read more

it's impossible to receive better service than we experienced. We called on a Saturday at 6:30 AM since our AC had stopped working and a major heat wave was approaching. The technician arrived at noon, to our amazement. Pleasant and efficient, he diagnosed our problem and advised that he had to obtain a new motor, which he would do on Monday (the parts distributor was closed on the weekend). At 7:30 AM on Monday we called, were told the tech had the part and would arrive that morning to install. He arrived and completed the job. Our cost was exactly what we had been quoted. At all times their office and field people were cheerful, friendly and responsive. Perhaps no one can be better than perfect, but this might be the exception! read more

Called a few places about my water heater which was fairly new and under warranty but other plumbers felt like I needed a new water heater $$$$$.(Rheem heater replacement $1500) I called Drain Rite and talked John. He was Very personable and knowledgeable and knew the problem immediately and said he would get the part for free and charge for labor. He also performed a sediment drain all for a fair price. (Under $200) So far the quality and value are the Best and will highly recommend (work done in April 2023, so late review) read more

I recently had a water heater issue at and called several plumbers for quotes. Unfortunately, none of them were able to properly diagnose the issue. Luckily, I came across Drain Rite Plumbing and their expertise provided me with a solution at a fair price. Pedro the service technician was able to properly identify and fix the issue within an hour of the call. I highly recommend Drain Rite Plumbing and thank Pedro and the company for their professionalism, expertise, honesty, and willingness to work with the manufacturer's warranty. If you have a Rheem water heater that's giving you an issue, you'll be doing yourself a disservice for not giving them a call first. read more

Our Water Heater went on Sat morning. I called Rheem manufacturer to request warranty service. I received email by Sunday that Drain Rite Plumbing out of Anaheim will coordinate service for our area. Spoke with John Monday morning at Drain rite. John said they received the order and have parts on hand and would send a plumber tech first thing Tuesday between 8-10am. Technician name is Pedro and arrived at 9am. He accessed the problem and replaced faulty parts Gas Control Valve and Chamber Sensor. Pedro took care of this job and was done before 11am. Very friendly and professional. Great attitude. Even called back a half hour later to check on us. Thank you John and Pedro for such a prompt response. It's tough not having hot water with 6 people household including a 92 mother. Highly recommend Drain Rite Plumbing. read more

We contacted Drain Rite Plumbing to come and diagnose our water heater but after a few weeks the issue came back. During the past 4 years we called this company 5 times and until this one last 5th time they blame the issue to be due to our lack of maintenance on the water heater. First 4 times they blamed the parts were going bad because of water getting to the water heater or some type of chemical fumes. I believe I have done my part each time in calling them and paying their bill but this last call on April 12, 2024 was supposed to be warranty on labor of the visit on Janyary 2024. The contractor ended charging my credit card with out authorization just because he had it on file. Further more the contractor kept calling the manufacturer for warranty parts just to charge me for labor eventhough they knew (as they stated) that our water heater parts warranty should have been revoked because we are not using it according to the manufacturer specifications and they kept pursuing free parts just to charge me each visit. Each time the contractor went onsite and replaced parts but the problem was never resolved as it was only a temporary solution. It took 5 service calls and over $800 dollars to come to this conclusion which is unaceptable as according to the contractor the water heater problem is now beyond repair due to the time that has past.. I have filed a complain with the state contractor license board as well. Bottom line... if the Drain Rite Plumbing does not resolve your issue the first time around you better call some one else that will. read more

Great experience with Drain Rite. Rheem approved a replacement waterheater for me and within 30 mins of the ticket being sent to Drain Rite I received a voicemail from John (the Dad) to set an appointment. I had been without hot water for 8 days due to Rheem parts on backorder. John (the son and now owner) heard the dialog and was at my home within an hour to help me out! My main water shutoff value was stuck so he taught me how to turn off the water at the street, I wanted a turnoff tool like his and he offered to select one while we were at home depot. John went with me to Home Depot, told me what to expect, dropped off the old unit, grabbed the new unit and the water shut off tool and waited very patiently while I argued with the Home Depot employee over the warranty. Once the new unit was at the house he hooked it up within 15 minutes! We discuss other plumping work I'm thinking about doing and he'll be sending me quotes. I really enjoyed getting to know him and appriectead his work. read more

I had a warranty on my Rheem water heater, and Drain-Rite was a company named as a certified service provider for the warranty. We originally called out the guy who installed it (not from Drain-Rite), but he told me that I had to get a brand new water heater. The hell?! It was only 3.5 years old. So I wanted a second opinion. Due to the amount of time that elapsed, it only covered parts, not labor. My water heater had an issue with an ignition lockout, and I did not know what that would entail. I initially called another certified service provider, but they quoted me $149 just to diagnose the damn thing, and that didn't even include the cost of labor, which they didn't give me a quote on. When I called John, he returned my call the same day and had someone come out to fix the water heater for $135. It took 5 minutes to fix, but it cost less than the other place, and they responded promptly, so it was worth it in the end. I feel like I got into the wrong business considering they just made $135 front minutes worth of work, but it was better than me blowing up the house or causing a leak. Service was fast and there's finally hot water so can't complain. read more

Saw the good rating for this business and didn't think to look any further, that was a huge mistake. First off, there are multiple 1 star reviews that have been hidden, scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see them. I wonder if the reason they have glowing reviews is because they pay Yelp to hide the bad ones. On further inspection of the sparse 1 star reviews that are shown, they are extremely accurate to what I experience. The man I spoke to on the phone was rude and downright condescending. I asked some questions for clarification and he brushed them off, basically belittling me and implying my questions were common knowledge everyone should have already known. Well if I knew these answer already I wouldn't have reached out to an expert in the field. Overall I would tread cautiously if you're still thinking about doing business with this company. read more

This owner had the worst customer service I have ever seen. He thinks we need him and he doesn't need us. I highly don't reccomend him. I don't know how he has 4 stars. I do see some honest 1 star. Hopefully this review will help him provide better customer service. Old rude man who prob sit on his desk all day and answer phone calls but still cannot provide a good service. I will never call. Notice all the 1star review. It's either these 5 stars are from family or people he knows. I go through them and I don't believe it. The one stars are right on point to his rude service. So disappointed. read more

We had been struggling with our Rheem water heater for months. The pilot would light, but in hours or days, it would go out again and we'd find ourselves without hot water. I had bad experiences with several companies who claimed to fix water heaters, but actually were just high pressure salesmen who wanted to sell me a new water heater on the spot. After asking Rheem for authorized service providers, I was sent the contact info for Drain Rite. When I called, my call was immediately answered by John, who was clearly experienced with Rheem water heaters and who, after listening to my issues, accurately diagnosed what the issue probably was and gave me a firm--and very reasonable--quote. Less than two hours later, service provider Pedro was at our door. He was personable and friendly, and took time to explain exactly what he was going to do. Our problem was fixed in an hour, for the modest price quoted. These guys are honest, knowledgeable, and fast--and the prices are reasonable. If I'd called them in the first place, we could've avoided months of frustration. If you need a plumber, call them first! I know I will. read more

Worst contractors ever! We hired John Peterson last week to come unclog the drain in our upstairs bathroom. He used this giant snake and was doing it for a while. I got bored and went into my office for a bit. 20 minutes later he said it was done, charged us $210, then left. I went back upstairs and the sink was draining but really slow. I called him back and he said that was the best he could do and wouldn't come back. Here's why. He couldn't get the snake back out so he cut it off and left it in the pipes. WTF? He cut the snake off and left it in my pipes?!? Since he wouldn't come back, I had to call another plumber who took off the P trap under the drain and showed me the cut off snake. So I had to pay the new plumber to take the snake out. I called John back but he wouldn't take my calls and then blocked my number. Totally unprofessional. Who does that?? read more

Its funny that I had the same company come out the same day as the last review. But I did commend the plumber for doing such an excellent job. If you have read my past post I usually mention that I take care of most of my parents issues since I am the closest to them, my dad who has worked on machines and been a business owner all of his life thought he could fix the shower that was clogged up, after a week they gave in and asked me to call a plumber. I heard about Drain Rite Plumbing through a friend who said that they were excellent and fairly priced. I do know that any service job such as car repair, or an electrician are costly because you pay for their knowledge and expertise on a job you obviously dont know how to do, so I called and received a very modest quote which made me happy. We arranged for a time that fit our needs, 5 pm on a friday evening where I could leave work early enough to meet them, I was the last call after hours and they were completely willing to work with me! I couldnt believe how much they valued me as a new customer because they had appts for the entire day. Well the man who came walked upstairs and looked at the shower and the wall. He said its a pretty normal routine job and with old pipes on 50s style housing its pretty common. He went back to his van and brought his machine and tools and began taking things apart. This compressor machine allowed him to go much further up and down 3 different sets of pipes to find the clog. He even climbed onto the roof to check the vent which was only 2inches in diameter so it wasnt going to be helpful, he joked that he shouldnt have said this was going to be a routine job. He worked on it more and finally was able to clear it, he said it was about 25 or 30 feet into the pipes and pulled so much of my moms hair out of the drain I was embarassed! I asked him to leave it on the side so that she could see and hopefully learn her lesson. He then suggested to pour bleach down the shower every few weeks to help clear any clogs, and is easy and very inexpensive to do. When I asked him about drain o, he explained to me how it wasnt any more or less effective then putting dish soap down the drain since it just lubes up the pipes to loosen the stuff caught on the sides which makes perfect sense. He didnt charge any more or less than he quoted and had a great discussion with my parents even though it was after his work hours. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and courteous! I am unsure what the other woman was talking about because when I asked him how his day was he said his only worry was about a potential yelp review, I told him I would put one about my experience as well at the end of the job. I noticed though that her reviews either rave or bash companies, and her bashing outweighs the raves (house wife with nothing else to do). But I do recommend this company for being so full of integrity. Thank you again Drain-Rite Plumbing! I will definitely be using them and recommending them again. read more

I have used Drain Rite for support for our tankless water heater in the past and had a need for servicing a leaky shower valve. The tech was running early so he called first to make sure he could arrive in advance of the scheduled appointment, which was great! I had opened up the drywall behind the valve while trying to diagnose the problem myself. Finding a leak from the valve, I knew that there were a couple courses of action that might be required. He replaced the cartridge which, fortunately, addressed the problem. I was concerned that the valve would need replaced, which would involve cutting and welding pipes You can probably find a lower hourly rate, but that savings goes away when you get up sold or led to believe it is a bigger problem. And finding a support contractor you can trust is priceless read more

I dont often leave bad reviews But I cannot let this business get away with this Crappy owner. Mr. Your crappy sour sarcasm will not get you any business. He doesn't want to do any work or any business. If I can give 0 star I would Rude, no customer service. I had a water heater still under warranty and they are technicians suppose contract with Rhemm to service or fix it. They have fixed it a couple times before but never improve or made it better. I received a miss call from him so i called back and told him i received a miss call from this number ,maybe for water heater fix. He was like " I don't know you call me! That was a big turn off already. He's rude, old snotty personality, crappy sour sarcasm. He decided he wants to postpone another day because he said it might be raining. Even though I said the rain stopped already. He tells me how do I know am I the forecaster? Wtheck it's being 3 days since we don't have hot running water. We schedule with Rheem support since a day and 1/2 ago. He won't schedule anyone to come and fix it. To me he's lazy or is Rheem not paying him enough to fix on contracts, maybe he doesn't care if he has customer. And he just hang up after I tell him lemme check forecast. I checked and it said rain will stop. . I will never reccomend anyone here.I told him it's urgent and he doesn't care. My heater is located on the side house of my wall. Also do not buy Rheem water heater. We have so many problems with the lighter shutting off. Constantly every week . Btw it's 2pm now. And it hasn't been raining since 9am. Stop being lazy and assume shit My heater is about 2years old and no matter how many times they fix it still the same problem. They don't know what they are doing it what. Every week the lighter or heater turns off. My old water heater lasted over 20 years according to the old owner. So either Rheem is a bad brand or this place sucks . BAD BAD BAD Update: I found someone to come and fix today because they understand how it feels to have no warm hot water for over 3 days. read more

After reading some other low ratings for this business and the customers saying the owner was condescending and sarcastic and non-responsive, just look up the last paragraph of the owners response to "Lila's" comments from March 6th, 2019....to wit: Once the customer gets her rain forecast, she can call us back to schedule the call." We've had this company help us twice in the last 8 months and both times they have come quickly to resolve our problems. The first instance was a water heater replacement. They are one of the few that stock Rheem water heaters, which are the brand that have lasted longest for us. The installer was quick, pleasant and the installation looked great. The second time was today, when the bathroom in our guest house backed up with 3 guests there...disaster! They came within 3 hours of my calling and fixed the problem. I am so grateful. read more

Referred by Rhehem water heater company. Very knowledgeable on what they are doing. $135 for labor. Part is paid under warranty.

Great experience 12.20.19. I'm a DIY. While installing a Rheem water heater burner found a bubble part laying at bottom of burner chamber. Couldn't find what it was and where it goes after extensive internet search. Spoke with John after finding him on Rheem tech list. Described part to him. He knew exactly what it was and what it does. Best of all he could repair same day and was reasonably priced. By the way no hot water past 3 days after even after new burner installed. Issac showed up at 3 pm. He is young appeared to be wet behind the the ears. He prove me wrong. Showed him the part. He removed the burner in less that 5 minute which took me more that an hour to install. He showed me where the part went. 5 minutes later burner reinstalled and water heater fired up. Issac took more time to prepare the bill than the repair. Great job. Very pleased. Thank you DrainRite, John, and Issac. read more

I concur with those who praised Isaac, who came for my Rheem water heater repair. He was very informative, efficient, and friendly. Late 2021 inflation has raised the labor rate to $145 (earlier reviews mention $135), but I'm fine with that: based on experience with doing my own plumbing repairs, there's a 20% chance I'd run into some issue I'm not prepared to handle or might not do perfectly, so when it comes to a gas appliance, I feel safer paying for a pro's knowledge and experience. read more

I had a brand new Rheem water heater installed, but the gas valve started making this buzzing noise. So, Michael from Drain-Rite, on Rheem's behalf, came out and did the repair within ten minutes. Even though I was ready to call it good after Michael told me the buzzing noise was normal, he still offered to change out the unit to see if the noise goes away, and it did! He was extremely professional and kept everything clean. You can tell when a person does things diligently, and Michael was top notch in that regard, in addition to the fact that he was very skillful and experienced. Besides, take a look at his truck; it's the cleanest and most organized work truck I've seen. :) I wouldn't have known how good they are had I not gone through two different plumbers in a week.
