Really lovely, small izakaya in our hood. Just happened to walk by on a wine run & decided to try it out for a light dinner. Tried the velvety eggplant that's an umami bomb, the very good pickled mackerel, the surf clam on spinach & scallions with miso, scallop & grapefruit carpaccio, and the pork gyoza.
Everything is presented beautifully, and great quality. The plates aren't expensive per se, but things can add up if one is a big eater.
They also have a fairly extensive sake selection. My only criticism is that the place is not very well ventilated, and it's got an open kitchen -- this means you will def smell like you sat in the fryer after leaving. I will go back, but only if I can sit outside next time. read more
