Index card identifying different cuts of meat - very good idea!
Winnie L.

Delicious, delicious meat! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We didn't have reservations but they managed to find a table for us. Unfortunately, one side of the grill worked only intermittently but that didn't stop us from feasting. I really like how they provide an index card so you know what type and cut of meat you are eating. They do not provide tap water so you must choose between still or sparkling. Overall, really good experience.

Premium Wagyu

Excellent service! Our waitress spoke fluent English and was very attentive. The 12€ premium outside skirt cut was the best cut we had. In my opinion, it was tastier than the 45€ premium wagyu that we ordered. The tri tip and chuck roll were kinda weak, I'd skip on those. Beef tongue was okay. Not the best, but not bad. Overall very satisfying meal. I'd definitely come back again.

1. Good ingredients especially the Japanese version of beef is so tasty, the beef tongue is served which is hard to find somewhere else. 2. Nice presentation of food with delicate plates and tableware. 3. The best service I had ever have in Germany!!! They actually forgot our reservation, but they did their best to offer a table, that day not only we got special drinks but also desserts which are not in the menu; stuffs always come to ask if there's anything they can help with, and they bowed in 90 degrees when you are leaving the restaurant like real Japanese will do which is very impressive!!!

This used to be my 'Go To' BBQ in Berlin but after my…read moreRecent visit it seems 'different' and not in the best way. The choice was limited to 2 meats and it was 12.30 During a non existent rush Lunch hour. It used to be Lined with excited eaters, Now it's virtually empty. I'm not a fan of pork belly So I was left with underwhelming Dry Pulled but not Pulled Pork. And 13 euro for 200 grams. Needless to say this purchase was regrettable. For the same Price or less I have several Viable options to choose from. In the future, this won't be One of them. (

I smell smoked meat!" I followed my nose to an oasis of of meaty delight: Big Stuff Smoked BBQ. I swear that tears formed in my eyes as I saw the writing on the glass display: BRISKET. Alas, my tears of joy turned to tears of sorrow, when the guy in front of me got the last delectable-looking piece. Then the tough decision: pulled pork or pork belly? Well, anyone with a brain would choose the crispy fat and juicy flesh of the pork belly... so I chose pulled pork. ;-) While I was waiting for my sandwich to be assembled, I started up a conversation with the owners about the difficulties of finding brisket in Germany. I was quite impressed with their knowledge of brisket versus tri-tip, and the delicate process of cooking brisket hot, then warm for hours. These guys knew their stuff!! After my pork was pulled (by hand), I was asked to choose a sauce. I went with the spicy one, naturally. Most sandwiches come with a variety of veggies: cucumbers, lettuce, etc., but I'm a purist. Meat, sauce and bun, please. Pickles on the side, if you've got 'em. I think my hands actually trembled a bit when I went to take the first bite. The aroma of the smoky sauce and juicy pork were almost overwhelming. The sandwich did not disappoint. I would even go so far as to say it was on par with some of the best barbecue I've had - even from central Texas, the Vaterland of barbecuing excellence. A glass of tart lemonade, garnished with lime, mint and cucumber was a delicious accompaniment to the sandwich. I'm already planning my next visit at the end of September. I'll be there first thing on Thursday morning, guys. Save me a slab of brisket and a bottle of the spicy sauce!!

The selection is decent and offers all expected variety of a BBC shop. I've got the house burger and my gf the veggie burger. The bun was extremely sloppy and the taste of the burger had been pretty low and boring. That being said the actual experience been rather low considering the prices charged. Burgers came without fries and coleslaw which ended up being pretty expensive with 3-4 euros extra per serving. Even the price of a beer with 4,50 is even higher than you would expect in Mitte at top tier locations like entrecôte. Actually great basis for a good shop but price and taste is far lower than what you can get in Berlin on average.

Just chatting with the pit master I could tell he had a lot knowledge about good bbq in Austin and around Texas. Also appreciated the large and ever-changing craft beer selection. Staff was nice- will definitely be back when I get the craving for the taste of home. The only suggestion I have is to improve the sides. The mac and cheese could use some love and would taste much better if it was made from scratch. Also the Mexican street corn came straight from the can, but would be much better if corn cobs could be grilled for a bit on the smoker. But the place hasn't been around too long, hopefully the sides will get better with time!

Edamame - warm, soft and lightly salted. Just right. Seaweed salad - standard and good YAKITORI SKEWERS Chicken thigh - good, as expected, just not a head turner Tomato - sizeable and plump. Good charcoal flavor. Zucchini - flavorful and tender but not overdone Shiitake mushroom - regular, needs seasoning Okra - soft and mushy Water chestnut - large sized but then the middle becomes difficult to season - ends up being lots of flavorless water chestnut to chew Chicken meatballs - delicious and well made Nice glaze of teriyaki sauce. Chicken wings - less meat and more work to navigate around the tiny bones Pork - pretty regular Pork with chives - more character - the green onion adds different texture, but without overwhelming the pork flavor Beef tenderloin - good, but pretty regular. Beef and cheese - made with chunks of what I think was mozzarella Lamb - quite overdone and underwhelming - if it's going to be overdone, at least be crispy. Salmon - very tender and succulent. One of the best skewers here, if not the best. Also sampled the Kiyo ramen - nice al dente noodles and good amount of vegetables bathed in a savory stock. Great stop for Japanese that hits the spot. That's all

In a word - fun Korean bbq place with other cool tweaks…read more Longer version (for the brave) - after a long wait, came here with Anne (our lovely CM) and Alex for a girls night out This place is easy to miss if you don't look out as the sign (and the place) are rather small, or maybe it's just me daydreaming :) The decor inside is really nice and creates a rather cosy atmosphere. On to the menus - you have a choice of a "proper" dish or a bbq dish.. Yes, the one that comes with its own grill-by-yourself portion! Not only that, you get all these really cool appetizers and rice with as many refills as you'd like! So the choice was easy - bbq it is! We ordered the beef and the chicken. With the grill came a personal rice bowl, cucumber salad, kimchi, potatoes, cabbage and other goodies! Besides the fact it was lots of fun to grill on our own- the taste was great. The beef was tender and well seasoned! We also asked for some lettuce to make some ssambaps (hope I spelled it right)... And also, of course - some spicy sauce :) We wanted to start with some starter and thought about edamame but then we've noticed sweet potato fries - what a good choice it was! They were fried to perfection. Could've had another portion but I was already too full, how sad :( There was nothing left in the bbq, and after a few salad refills we were already too stuffed to move. After resting for a bit it was time to move on for something sweet - matcha panna cotta. It took us a while to feel the matcha as it was covered by a thick sweet red syrup. Even though it was a bit too sweet for me I really liked it, and it was the perfect ending for that meal. The service is great and the food was served rather quick, besides the dessert that took a little longer... The price is fair and you won't leave hungry :)

They have the smokers, the owner comes from Texas, this is as close as you're going to get in Berlin. That said, the Brisket was a little drier than it should be, and and ribs were just OK. Now, this is compared to Austin BBQ, which is king country for this style of BBQ. If you put the Texas flag up and claim you're THE spot for Texas BBQ, then someone from Texas is going to come in there. The jalapeño sausage is spot on, however. I think it's going to be very hard to hit the true Texas mark, because the smokers are indoor here and you probably can't get the right kind of wood, and I don't know how long or at what temperatures they're cooking at. I really want to give this a more accurate 4.5 stars, because it's Berlin, NOT Texas. But it cannot be 5 because it's just NOT as good as something you'd get IN Texas, but it's the best you're going to come close to in Berlin, or probably all of Europe. So, if you're European, make believe this is 5 stars and you'll love it. If you're a Texan in Berlin, it'll remind you of home, but don't expect Terry Black's or Michelthwait's. Don't even mention the guy who's name begins with F...that would be sacrilege to compare Lino's to F's.
