This is for the Watami on the 3rd floor next to Olive Garden. The place is OK. The lack of a sushi bar should have been a sign to lower my expectations. The servers try their best but the food is served out of order, the apetizers came towards the middle of what else I had ordered and so did the cocktail. And as I feared with cheap places, the wasabi was a little ball, as if someone took the time and roll it. No wasabi is not served in little ball shapes, and it wouldn't dissolves in the soy sauce. Also there was no ginger/gari given with the sashimi and nigiri I ordered. At least they had sashimi and traditional nigiri and gunkan on the menu, and not some weird fusion stuff. The fish used was good. And for some reason, the Shrimp tempura was greasy, not sure if they used sesame oil or not but it sure was greasy. They used the right batter at least and it was crunchy, but yah my fingers were greasy. The assorted yakitori was OK, but it's as if someone dipped, not basted them in tare after being grilled not during. But there were no grill marks on the skewers. Final thoughts, people at the other tables were even taking pics of their food, not knowing that it wouldn't pass to a Japanese person or someone who knows Japanese food. Like the time a Pinoy chef introduced hard shell tacos as traditional Mexican lol. Food is OK, but please get someone to supervise who knows about Japanese food. read more
