the best Nobu I've ever been to so far!! What can I say, this was truly an amazing experience for me & I was catered to so well by our servers. They were very attentive to our needs & we were given knowledgeable recommendations. Starting off, this location is special because it's located in the heart of Mall of Asia, the hotel atmosphere is super nice--the entrance is basically a casino. Food was spectacular me & my cousin shared all the bites. Calamansi Martini - 10/10 one of a kind!! Might be exclusive to Manila! Chasu Miso - 7/10, super buttery texture Toro - 12/10 TO DIE FOR! Must order Spicy tuna rice - 10/10 sensational I will definitely be back for happy hour as they have a bar on Fridays & it's pretty much a party with a DJ. Mahal!!

Had a great dinner here. The chef even made a dish for me that isn't on the menu but available at other locations. Everything we ordered we enjoyed. Will be craving it until we return again!

JC is the best waiter in Manilla! Every course my area was taken care of... every course explained. 5 stars Food however was solid 3 for what they charge and what you get. Left me hungry. For sushi the best things was the pork belly and the black cod. Sushi was meh and about average for fresh in USA. Great presentation but average in the wowza factor. No Emril bam factor outside the charred pork belly that had the yin and yang of the crunchy crust and the melt in your mouth fat

Stumbled across an excellent restaurant called Nobu in the Nobu Hotel City of Dreams. (Yes! It's one off Chef Nobu restaurants) After a long day of travel, I dropped into the bar to have a drink. The bartender recommended the house Bloody Mary. It was flavored with hints of wasabi and calamansi. The drink was refreshing and left a strong punch of radish at the end. Excellent! I popped into the restaurant which was very bright. Atmosphere almost felt like a cafeteria. There were only three tables with limited diners eating. The table and silverware were clean. Sad to say, they were limited on the sake selection. I stuck with the house Bloody Mary. Super refreshing! I was starving and ordered the wagyu selection. It was served mid rare with exotic dipping sauces. The meat was like butter and melted in my mouth. There was no need for sauces. The meat was served over hot round rocks and was sizzling. What a presentation! The side was a bed of roasted mushrooms and asparagus. Complimented the dish perfectly. Didn't bother with dessert as I was bound to hit the Manila night scene with buddies. The portions and a bit small and very expensive. I know, "you ordered wagyu you dufus!". I know, but in the end, it's the experience of eating in a Nobu restaurant. So if your up to spend a lot of pesos for a great steak and experience, try it out! Salamat!

I have visited Nobu LA long time ago. At that time Nobu was already famous however not to the ubiquitous of the present. I mean at last count there was 39 locations in the world. There are 3 locations in London alone, London Berkeley St, London Old Park Lane, and London Shoreditch. It was with high expectation that walked in the Nobu Manila pursuant to my 9pm reservation. The restaurant was virtually empty. My jovial Filipino server Miko was helpful recommending their pork sisig because Kim is unable eat a lot of food now due to her dentist's advice. We ordered the following: 1. Mushroom soup with an eclectic mix of fungi. It was very light and not too salty. It was a 7 out of 10. 2. Sashimi Ocean 12 probably named after the movie. It was overall just OK. The fish was fresh however not delicious. I would say it was a 7 also. 3. Pork Sisig was extremely salty. I could not even eat a spoonful of this dish. It was a 4 out of 10. 4. Tofu new style basically was some silken tofu sliced up with some sesame oil drizzle on it. This was a 3. 5. The three oysters prepared 3 styles. The oyster were edible however that was it. It was a 4 due to the high cost and low taste quality. Overall, I thought the food for this place this place was OK however given the extreme high cost and high expectation this was a huge letdown for me. I would not recommend dining here unless you have a strong desire to say you dined at a Nob

Located in the Nobu Hotel in City of Dreams, Nobu Manila is high class Japanese dining. With a high reputation to live up to, Manila's Nobu is solid, but it misses the mark sometimes. The interior is spacious, modern and beautiful with both inside and outside seating. Unlike other branches in New York or Las Vegas, Nobu Manila is not that crowded. While reservations are encouraged, most nights you should be fine just walking in. Service is very friendly and generally attentive. Dishes are presented beautifully in true 5-star fashion. Portions are generally on the small side, but not always. But of course most important of all is taste and that's where Nobu could use some improvement. One of their signature dishes is the crispy shrimp. But shockingly for such a famous dish, it really lacked flavor. Similarly the toro with cavier is quite expensive, but lacking in a flavorful punch. The tacos are yummy, but very small. Oysters were good. Tuna with crispy rice was presented creatively so the rice stayed crispy. After receiving all our food, we were still hungry and the server recommended the tuna tataki salad. This was a great flavorful dish with a generous portion. I wish all the dishes lived up to the flavor of this seemingly simple salad. Nobu is certainly very good. Great even. But at these sky high prices, you expect perfection and some work needs to be done to bring Nobu Manila up to the level of it's international counterparts.

We tried Nobu Manila for the first time and the experience did not disappoint. Service, ambience, and food were all amazing, and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely come back soon.

It's all about the Sunday brunch. I read about the brunch on the Internet and they had me at the matcha fountain. The sashimi and sushi they served was also delicious especially their salmon sashimi with Miso sauce. Also they had this Sea bass that was also the bomb. But I really enjoyed the matcha fountain and also their matcha green tea ice cream. A must go at least once if u haven't been. It is pricey not gonna lie!

Staying in Robert De Niro's Nobu Manila Hotel? Make sure to check out Chef Nobu's Japanese and Peruvian menu at Nobu restaurant and take advantage of the discount offered to their guests. Since our trip to the Philippines is coming to an end, I decided to treat the family out to dinner here. Their cocktails are inspired with Filipino, Japanese, and Peruvian flavors make sure to try em! We ordered several sushi and entrees to share. The sushi were supposed to be served last but since some of the entrees took too long they served us the sushi first. All that rice made us almost full. lol. Then came our entrees: Mixed Seafod Ceviche - YUMMMM I love the spicy Peruvian ceviche! Thai Satay w/ Rice - This was so good and the stay were tender and flavorful! It was so good we ended up ordering a second one. Nobu Paella - This seafood paella was soooo good! Black Cod - This black cod miso is another must try from here. This is actually my favorite to pair with the seafood paella Creamy Spicy Crab - Not my favorite it was on the oily side and the portion was just too small. Beef Tenderloin - Another favorite of the night. We had it with teriyaki sauce! Grilled Squid - This dish was presented nicely, but it just didn't hit the spot for me. I prefer the stuffed grilled squid which has more flavor than this one with the sauce. Overall, We had a good meal at Nobu Manila. Amazing service from beginning to end! I was so bummed we didn't get a chance to check out their brunch offerings, but I'll be back Nobu Manila!

One of my favorite sushi restaurants. They have locations throughout the world and I was glad to find this location in Manila. They have happy hour specials and the food was good. It is located inside the casino. They also have Sunday brunches!

Every New Year's Eve, one of our family's traditions is to celebrate the last day of the year and the first day of the coming year with an exceptional gastronomical experience. Perfect timing for Nobu Manila's soft opening. We had heard so much about it and have always been big Japanese cuisine fans (who isn't?). So I called to reserve and not surprisingly, they were fully booked for December 31 and we were put on the waiting list. We didn't really count on this list so much but surprisingly, they informed us after a few hours saying our reservation was confirmed. Woohoo! Decked in our NYE outfits, my family and I were more than ready to sample Nobu's much-hyped, elevated Omakase menu. I don't really remember everything we ordered but I remember the stellar ones: tuna tataki and rock shrimp tempura with that creamy spicy sauce. I also remember the Japanese tacos we got but not because they were oh-so-good (but should've been; I really had high hopes!) but because they were very tiny and ridiculously overpriced (1 piece the size of your thumb for around PHP400 if I remember correctly). The others were forgettable for a reason (or my taste buds just didn't get the subtleties?!). Overall, this restaurant is something that you should experience at least once in Manila, if only to broaden your foodie horizons and your idea of what top-notch restaurant service should be. But if you're just going for the sushi rolls, Little Tokyo (or Tokyo itself) is still the place to be.

I love you, Black Cod Miso.
    Aussy A.

I have never tasted anything like that melt-in-your-mouth Black Cod Miso. Sometimes I even dream about having it. Then I tried the White Fish with Miso sashimi and I died. Those two are Nobu classics and whether you're in Manila or one of the other 31 Nobu restaurants in the world, it was created to blow your mind. I really like the tonkatsu sandwich; and, according to the waitress, Robert De Niro loves it too! It's slow-cooked pork belly on white bread and it's absolutely delicious. I could also probably wipe out a bowl of the rock shrimp tempura with creamy butter ponzu! I've never tried, it's about a thousand pesos for an order so I've always had to share. But one day, rock shrimp tempura, one day...

    omakase
    Sarina J.

I really don't want to give this place 3 stars, but sadly it was a very disappointing experience. I am from San Francisco and we are big "foodies". SF is filled with outstanding food, customer service, and presentation. And this place, despite being modern and new, lacked all of the above. We ordered the omakase which we though was actually cheap for $90 each. There was not one dish that blew us away. Even if I stayed at the Nobu Hotel again, I would not try the omakase again. Next time I'm in town, I'd probably give it another try but just order from the menu.

It's usually always better quality and tasty. Im not talking about japan good which is always a 10/10 but this was more like a 8/10 and the pricing made it 9/10 lol. There was not a negative thing I could say about the times I visited and ate lol my husband did I am sure get tired of it. He's more into Filipino food of course but usually if you grow up in the provinces food like this place isn't a daily or weekly thing so for him he got tired of it quickly lol I went to the one at MOA near the road entrance and the location at SM Baguio and both were fantastic! You do not have to talk to anyone lol which is more of my style. You click and choose what you want on the TV screen and it comes out to you. If it is a drink or larger item like a soup, they will hand deliver it but it's a quick drop and go kind of thing. There is a hot water spout at your table with matcha (which isn't the best grade) but it works lol Air con worked, it was never really "busy" when we went. Only a few tables but I'm sure it's because everyone was working at the times when we went.

But, they made improvements on their kitchen (open layout where you can see the chefs preparing food behind the glass window), the flooring, the seat cushions and other details. Basically, it's way cleaner than before. Just so you know, this is the original branch which is right across Dusit Thani Hotel. The restaurant is bigger and they have smoking and non smoking areas. Parking is limited, so I suggest you eat here during the middle of the day or late night so that you won't be joining the crowds. They serve a wide variety of Japanese favorites: sushi, sashimi, ramen, teppanyaki, cold and hot soba/udon, tempura, donburi, gyuniku, curry rice, okonomiyaki, gyoza, yakitori, etc. All of these dishes are at a very reasonable price and in good servings. It is my go to restaurant when I am craving for Japanese. It's perfect because they are open til late! I always order anything with Uni! Unidon is LOOOVE! But, you should definitely try the Chirashi Don and the famous Spicy Tuna Sashimi! When I'm hungry, I order the Zaru Soba with their Grilled Salmon Head. For me, it's the perfect combination! For tempura, try their Kisu. Oh, go try the Nigiri Set if you just want all sushi! The downside is that, since they moved the original staff, their service has become inconsistent and slow. However, sometimes they're fast when you are the only diners. Which is why I prefer to go either during down times or very late at night. I've been eating at this Nihonbashitei for the past 4 years and the quality of their dishes hasn't changed. The place is always packed. Plus, a true measure of a good Japanese restaurant is that Japanese businessmen and tourists eat here too. This is a must-try when in Makati. :)

OK, it's been a while since I've had some decent sushi and I was craving for some "good ass" sushi,…read moreFound It! Now, comparably speaking, I would have to say one of the better sushi places I've been to. I stumbled upon this place on yelp as I happened to go to another Japanese restaurant that was closed partially because I didn't look for their hours before going and partially because their hours we not listed on yelp yet, boo. What I did stumble upon was a photo... of Foie Gras sushi, which 1) I heart Foie Gras and 2) was reminiscent of my time in Hawaii when I was able to enjoy foie gras sushi my first time ever. Soooooo Off We GO to the new Sensei Sushi! Quite possibly one of the better decisions we will make this weekend in regards to cuisine. Service was good, but I did notice a drop off as the place got more and more busy with customers. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The server kept recommending things, which was good and bad, as in my opinion if I wanted some recommendations, I would simply ask and I've been to more than my share of sushi joints and usually know what to order. Nonetheless, overall very helpful. As for the food. One word, Yummy comes to mind, delicious, tasty, fresh-er than most places. OK, that's 7. I usually don't order cooked food at a sushi place, so my review is a mix of their raw and cooked menu. Seared Chutoro Sushi: Well prepared, well cut, not the absolute best part of the tuna belly compared to Otoro, but certainly a delicious treat! Chutoro Sushi: same as above, delicious, very satisfying for those who love that fatty goodness tuna belly has to offer. Foie gras Sushi: great cut, larger than most places I've had this similar dish. Seared perfectly, in my opinion. NOT burnt like most places here in the PH that over sear their foie gras, including Antonio's. MUST TRY! Amaebi: Looked and tasted very fresh. Color was gorgeous and sweet as it should be. Not too much wasabi to spoil it, perfectly balanced in my opinion. Oh! and they deep fry the heads so they can be eaten! Proper! Japanese Uni Sashimi: Color was much better than almost every place I've been in the PH. Looked and tasted fresh-er than most, there was 1 small brownish piece at the bottom, but overlooked it because at most other places, all the pieces are brown. Snaps for the nice yellow Uni to Sensei Sushi! Color wasn't eye popping yellow as it would be when super fresh, yet I'll take it over so many others in Metro Manila. Fish Tacos: Actually quite scrumptious. I wasn't prepared to have good fish tacos, but I saw them on the menu and couldn't resist. They were delicious. Ikura Sushi: A bit disappointed, color was a bit dark and wasn't super fresh, however, that's simply an opinion. I DO KNOW, there are many different grades of ikura, I'm just used to the bright orange color with more of a traditional salted caviar taste, this one just tasted like there was something else I wasn't familiar with. Seared Salmon Belly Suhsi: Another treat I was not expecting. I wasn't expecting a salmon belly so fatty similarly to their chutoro. Overall, very good. Tuna Dynamite Roll: For a roll, quite good. A nice filler, taste was on point with what you would expect in a more than decent roll. I forget the name of the last dish: it was thin strips of beef with chopped foie gras and uni. Quite honestly my first attempt at this dish was head on, meat, foie gras, uni. So sorry not quite what I had expected. THEN however, I deconstructed it, Uni by itself, which the uni on this dish we're I think local, was a bit fishy. BUT then, the foie gras and steak alone, darn it if that wasn't reminiscent to a filet topped with seared foie gras from Central Park Bistro in San Francisco! All that was missing was a perfectly balanced '12 Opus One red to cap it off. Overall: with the exceptions above... I will be back for more! A la cuisine! Stay Hungry My Friends
