This is one of the many Japanese restaurants here in Manila within the high-end spectrum, and just as I expected, this didn't fail me. I think it's because it's in the good hands of Chef Wataru Hikawa, the executive Chef of Inagiku.
I came here with my family for my brother's early birthday dinner celebration. Since all of us were a fan of Japanese cuisine, we left my sister to order all our dishes. We started our meal with salmon sashimi and my oh my, it was literally one of the freshest I've ever tried, as if it was melting in your mouth. Then it was followed by a wave of different kinds of sushi rolls and I can tell that all the ingredients used was of premium quality and the rolls were neatly packed because it did not break apart so easily. To balance everything out, we ordered tenderloin and rib-eye steaks, pan-fried Japanese style and lastly, no Japanese meal is complete, without Ebi Tempura!
Finally, for desert, we ordered all the flavours of their mochi ice cream selections. There was Black Sesame, Red Bean, Green Tea and Wasabi. Yes, there is Wasabi! I especially liked the Black Sesame and Green Tea, however, the Wasabi was pretty interesting. So if you're the adventurous type, I suggest you try it! After our dessert, we were surprised with complimentary dark chocolate mousse cake since it was my brother's birthday and I have to say it was simply delectable!
In terms of price, it was obviously more on the expensive side, however I would still recommend it for special occasions and business meetings. I believe, it gets full easily, so I suggest you book your table in advanced should you decide to eat there.
One last thing, good service is a given for high-end restaurants, however I especially appreciated how Chef Wataru Hikawa went around the restaurant and made sure we enjoyed our food, had everything we needed. It made the whole dining experience even more authentic with the Japanese chef chit-chatting with us! read more
