Actually zero stars. Paying for a service we are not getting. They have decided unilaterally to pick up only once per month verses twice per month which is what we signed on for. Still paying the same rate and they won't provide additional containers while we hold the recyclables for an additional two weeks. to add insult to injury, we pack it down the driveway on the scheduled date only to schlep the wet mess back up the driveway after they once again FAIL to do what they are being paid to do. Can't even bother to let their customers know they are going to FAIL again. But since we can't choose a different service provider, they continue to profit, while continuing to FAIL. read more

Who ever my boyfriend spoke to on the phone was absolutely horrible. The first person when the concern was brought up goes oh that sucks and hung up on him. The second person he talked to just kept saying I'm sorry for your frustration without doing anything useful. After not having a garbage can the entire first quarter and not providing any service what so ever nothing was able to be done about it. Second quarter we did have a garbage can for about half the time but from bad weather a lot of times it never got picked up for probably a solid month or so (I didn't keep a solid record). Either way I'm not pleased with the non existent service we received, nor the follow up for how it was handled by waste management. read more

3 weeks with no yard waste pickup. Called to get credit but they wouldn't. Apparently, a wet street at 50 degrees is justification for "adverse weather" even though trash and recycle trucks came. I'm now out of town for a period of time with a pile of yard waste that I paid for pickup that Waste Management wouldn't. Absolutely terrible that they can get by with 3 consecutive weeks with no service and not give you a credit. No other company would survive with that terrible of service, and the worse thing is there is nothing you can do about it. read more

Constantly missing pick ups (for our entire street) randomly. Constantly change the pick up schedule with no notification (again, you can tell, as ENTIRE STREET misses) and then claim they mailed you a paper schedule. Which never arrives. And you cannot obtain this information online - it says "refer to paper schedule" or "go to your local office". Drivers constantly tell dispatch cans aren't at curb when they are. Unfortunately we have ZERO options for other pick up service. Update: STILL A ZERO STAR REVIEW. Contacted today again, apparently the rep sent me the wrong schedule yesterday and sometime in December they changed our pick up date and didn't tell us. So basically won't be picking up, even though it's their error that they NEVER send out updated schedules until someone complains about missed pick ups. read more

How are these guys aloud to pick up garbage between 2:30am -5am in West Seattle? I found out there is a city noise ordinance that doesn't apply to my neighborhood, however, they should be respectful and good neighbors and wait until 7am. When you have a monopoly and your customers can't go anywhere else, why try harder? In fact, why even do what you are paid to do? Waste Management has this strategy figured out. Missed pickups, glass shattered in the street, every excuse in the book but no accountability. Currently, I have been waiting for them to deliver a recycling cart for over a month. Lots of promises, so far no action. Of course, they don't seem to have an issue with billing me for putting out the cart I don't have. You would think that providing a way for customers to put things at the curb, then actually picking those things up would be pretty basic feature in the business model for a waste collection company, but it appears this is far from common sense for Waste Management. These guys deserve no stars. Not only is the general service terrible, but the customer service lacks class, integrity and decency. Unfortunately you don't have a choice in waste services. If we did people would flock, overwhelmingly to the competition. Better Business Bureau, State Offices and web search's all yield a long history of upset customers. Be sure to register your complaints with the BBB and Attorney General. Working directly with Waste Management only proved to be a frustrating waste of time with no documentation with agencies that can effect change in their poor business practices. read more

I echo the other posting. Horrible and they make billing a mystery. Sounds like our state is aware of the suckness, but they are not doing much about it. The best way to get billing questions answered is to call the main 800 number the route through new service. read more

They are the worst. During a pandemic they are cancelling service for customers who have a long standing great payment history and they claim to have no resources or payment plan options. I'm sure if you compare zip codes you'll see the same systemic racism. read more

Poor service. It's okay for them to miss a pickup and then when you complain rather than give you credit they show up at a later date thus negating the need for that next pickup. Conversely they can't wait to charge extra if the lid is even slightly ajar. read more

They skip our trash pick up 3 out of every 4 times. We call each instance and on the days when we aren't put on hold for a significant period of time, the administrative office is accommodating and removes the charge for that week. However, the pickup crew continues to not pick up our trash, even though we have an account. Our neighbors have the same issue. Please figure out a better way to label our neighborhood so that our trash is not left in our cans while we are paying you to pick it up. read more

God-awful customer service. Called 5 times over the past few weeks because they haven't picked up my compost in over a month. Kept getting the run-around... "Oh we will make a note for the driver. Oh we will notify a supervisor. Oh we will file a dispute," and my favorite "I'll write a really STERN note to dispatch." Horrendous service. This company is a monopoly. All too often they miss our garbage pick up and with the new bi-weekly pickup it STINKS by the end of the month. They give mostly lip-service and call it done. There's been a few times where they try to charge us overage because of the pickup. The driver occasionally drives strait past our cul de sac. We've complained about this before and they don't give a crap. When all ten neighbors complain they are forced to come out. But they complain, complain, complain. If there was another option I'd be all over it but there's not. Thanks for the HORRENDOUS service waste management. No better than Verizon and Comcast. read more

I'm a small business owner in the Renton Wa area. About 3 weeks ago a eye WITNESS watched a Waste Management truck take a corner to sharp and ran over my chain-link fence destroying half of it. The driver backs up and retakes the corner and drives off. Immediately call waste management to report the incident and they assured me they would take care of it and was apologetic. They sent someone out to evaluate the fence and said they would get back to us ASAP. I've heard nothing from them. When I called and called leaving messages for three different departments, no one has returned my calls. I call customer service and asked about the status of my claim and she said they found no fault in the destruction of my fence. So I have now filed a hit in run/damage report to the city of Renton and police department next is a call to my lawyer. Thank you waste management for your cooperation. read more

It is unfortunate that the City of Seattle contracted with this company. I am on my 4th call and sending emails to resolve transitional mess from old WONDERFUL company to this conglomerate. Service costs more by 35% and the bins are smaller for refuse. read more

I can't even give them a STAR. I have been trying to contact the to discuss options on lowering my service fee. With the children out of the house we on down to using one 38 gallon receptacle per week. I called in March and left a message to call or e-mail me. Funny the voice mail said they were out for the holidays starting December 23, returning in January. I then went to their web chat and left message in late April, I actually received a response indicating someone from their office would call me in 5 business days. It is now June 12 and still no call. Maybe time to take trash to their office and dump it. I can do that for free. read more

Terrible service. They've missed either our recyclables or garbage every week. When I scheduled a missed collection they told me that it would be picked up within 48 hours. Four days later, the garbage is still on the curb. Their excuse is always that they don't see the cans which is an obvious lie. This is very typical of union workers. read more
