Every female employee was over the moon to see my son there running around. As a new walker, they couldn't get enough of his little stumbles and they all told us how cute he was. The employee we worked with to get our certificate with was super nice. And, funny! Like, what?! A government worker who actually seemed to enjoy their job. It was awesome. Not only was his personality great, but he was super thorough in walking us through the different documents we were receiving and made sure we understood everything. Great experience!

Stopped in to the Vital Statistics office to pick up a copy of my birth certificate…read more I entered through the main entrance of the hospital, and that was the wrong move. Trying to find the Vital Statistics office was a challenge. I asked a nurse for directions and she pointed me towards a WHOLE OTHER BUILDING ACROSS THE STREET. I finally found the office. It's a small little office up in the corner of the building I was sent to. Very clean, and very quiet. Signs around instruct you to fill out a piece of paper and give the employees about twenty minutes to meet with you. They got to me in about two minutes and were super kind! I was in and out of there, with my certificate, in about five minutes. Woohoo!

Basically, you just walk in and (after going through some metal detectors) you're in... to the right is paperwork and to the left is courtrooms. The confusing thing might be that there's no check in process. Just walk over to some electronic boards and look for your name and it will tell you the time to report to court (which should match your paperwork) and which court room. In my case, the courtroom doors were locked for about 15-20 minutes and I wasn't sure if I had missed out on my time or if they were calling names individually to enter or what (there were a lot of people loitering outside the room wondering the same thing). In the end, the courtroom doors opened and they let all moving violations people in at once. Overall, it was fast and easy and I was in and out in about 45 mins to an hour total.

I thought that the next best thing would be to have the postcards stamped in Seattle, Washington. I searched my Yelp app for the closest post office and this one in Georgetown popped up. There were many free parking spaces right next to the building. Inside, there was a long line of customers! I guess it's because there are only ten more days until Christmas?!?!? They completely wasted my time…read more I scheduled my appointment 2-3 weeks in advance and arrived 15 minutes early, but still had to wait almost an hour for my turn. When I finally got called, they told me I had to reschedule because my form was missing some information. The confusing part is that I wasn't sure about the missing information and thought they would help me figure it out, but they didn't. I had to take time off work for this appointment, and now I've wasted an entire day for nothing. Very frustrating and disappointing.
