Quite possible the worst customer service I have ever had. We have 3 containers at the cost of thousands of dollars. The automated phone line is bad enough with our "we are having technical issues" call ended, to connecting with a person and getting disconnected on transfer. Finally getting someone on the line and we have you scheduled for this date and time and they no show. Rinse and repeat the events as stated before. Add this to all the one stars as well. A huge group of waste management came in to gamble at wekopa and majority of them didnt tip anybody. This group was selfish, inappropriate, and completely wasted our time. We worked very hard to give them a good night and hardly any of them tipped- even on good hands winning $200, $500 or more. Avoid at all costs. Last time I checked charging someone's credit card without their consent is FRAUD! I canceled my service in July due to repeated billing issues. I turned off autopay. In August I was charged for service from Aug to October even though the service was canceled. After repeated calls trying to resolve, they still refuse to refund me the money I am owed. Customer service is awful. I am now disputing this with my credit card company to try to resolve. read more

If I could leave negative stars I would. Waste Management is horrible. I canceled my service in October because I was moving. I was told I had to send a handwritten certified letter to cancel. I send in thus ridiculous letter and tell them I'm moving Oct. 30. Sorry we can't help you per WM. I'm still paying for trash service through Dec. 1 as the dumpster can't be picked up sooner, per WM. Now I'm told I will be paying 325.00 for pick up plus a final bill and I just pd. 190.00 for this month. I ordered a roll off to be on our small construction site at 8:00 a.m., they make you pay before delivery so I paid and they delivered the following day at 3:00 pm. We were done the next morning and requested pick up and they charged me and additional fee - over $600 to rent and then almost $500 to pick up! That is double the cost of the other dumpster rental place in the area. I had no idea that the first payment didn't cover pickup. I will never use them again. Overcharged, accused me of not paying. I get my bill today and apparently they say I did not pay last month. They said the payment was declined. I checked my bank account, nothing was declined. In fact, I haven't had any payments declined for over 30 years. They said I gave the wrong account number but it was the same I have always used. Unfortunately, there is no garbage services in this area so I'm stuck with this company. Now I will have to use my credit card to pay just so I can provide proof of payment. I received no notification from my bank about a declined payment. Waste Management didn't notify me that the payment was declined, either. I can only conclude that they are so incompetent that they have no idea what their billing department does. If you have a choice, please choose someone other than Waste Management. read more

To say this company is horrendous is being generous. In January I paid a exorbitant fee to have a large dumpster delivered to clean out a house. I paid for a month and then had it picked up. In March I received a bill for another $800. After a lot of time on the phone they finally agreed it was an overcharge. In April i received another bill for $400. This time I called the corporate office. They needed to investigate. Several days later i receive a phone call and i had to explain everything again!! He put me on hold so he could "investigate". When he came back he said i was correct and my account showed a zero balance and i would not be charged for the $400. Today my bank statement showed it was taken out. This business is horrendous! They do not care one iota about their customers. Trying to get someone on the phone is next to impossible. Then when you actually do get a live customer service person on the phone, they treat you like a piece of the trash that they are supposed to be collecting. They missed our recycle pick up 3 weeks in a row, then I make a payment and it does not go through due to an error on their end, they never notify me of the error. I only find out when they send me an email stating my account is past due. It seems odd to me that email comes through, but the one they supposedly sent me in regards to the payment being declined never did. I wish I could give them zero stars! We told them to pick up our bins. I have no idea what we are going to do about our trash and recyclable pick up since they hold the monopoly in our community, but we do intend to inform the HOA. Just received notice of a new convince fee of $1.99/ payment unless you give them direct access to your bank account for payment. This on top of all the other fees is the last straw. Signed up for service, containers to be delivered on Jan 31st, did not happen. Tried to chat with WM and their chat wouldn't connect. Called and sat on hold without talking to live person for over n hour, finally hung up. Called on the 1st of Feb after half hour on hold was told they would email local WM to find out about my container and would email me back within the hour. Two hours go by I call again, wait for 45 min before talking to live person to be told that 1. there is a shortage of containers in the areas. 2. They have 5 days to deliver the containers from the scheduled date. I cancelled my previous service based on the information I had from the WM web site after I scheduled service. So now I am sitting here paying for a service that I don't have and collecting household trash at the same time. Calling customer service is a joke three different agents will tell you three different stories about your service. I regret signing up with Waste Management! read more

There is absolutely no reason to ever sign a contract with WM. Once you are month to month, they are not going to cancel service with you. However, they will ask to renew and sign a 3 year contract that essentially has no rate protection for the customer. WM can increase your rate at one year and unless you immediately confront them you have no recourse. Add to this the ever increasing fuel surcharges l recommend you find an other option for your trash collection if possible. read more

I live in a condominium complex and this company is the worst. Their workers will stop the truck, get out, look inside the dumpster and then leave. They leave our dumpsters half full or even full! Then we are charged for an "overage" the next time they come by. Makes me wonder if the workers are told to leave if not full so we can be charged extra, or if the workers are just lazy. Our Board had a meeting with their representative and he said he'd take care of it. Nothing has been done. If you're an HOA considering them, my advice is run fast and far from them. Absolute incompetent drivers! Called the morning of our scheduled pick-up (Wed), after they had come by to inform them that the trash was not completely emptied(only 2-3 kitchen bags that were on the top of grass and yard debris had been dumped. The gal said she would send out another truck to empty the entire bin, since there was approximately 70% still left in bin and that I should leave bin out until the night of following day. After about an hour, I was outside coming back from my walk and see another truck with 2 men enter our gated community and drive right past our house and down the street to our back entrance of development, without stopping or emptying squat! When checking again this morning, the bin is STILL not emptied and had to call AGAIN. This time I talked to Erma, and she stated the driver noted that he had emptied the bin! I let her know that was a blatant fraudulent statement on his behalf. I told her I wanted to talk to the management regarding this and she said she would put in another "courtesy" pick-up but couldn't guarantee anything, and also would transfer me over to management. I actually got transferred to a voice recording and left a message for them to please call me... nothing! Not surprising since they are based out of LA. How they remain in business with hiring incompetent people is mind-boggling. This is completely unacceptable. read more

Just bought a house where the previous owner has contract with waste management for another few months. The dumpster is full. Even though the previous owner has a contract and is paying for services, WM refuses to pickup the contents or the container. Multiple calls, long waits, ultimately to find out that they are refusing to pick up the contents nor the container until the contract is over. This shows you what WM thinks of business integrity and your neighborhood. Find any other service than these yahoos. read more

On 9-5-2019 at about 10:00AM the driver for Waste Management Recycling rammed his truck loader hooks into my wrought iron fence and block wall completly bending and breaking them. This is a safety issue and this is a non electrical gate allowing manual entrance/exit to my home in case of emergency. I contacted Linda at Waste Management who told me she would get hold of the district manager immediately. I live on a dead end street with only two houses and I have an outside camera. I am waiting to hear from Waste Management. The driver never bothered to stop or apologize or make a report. I am livid. I am a senior on a fixed income and need Waste Management to get this taken care of ASAP. read more

I had ordered a residential dumpster for one of my clients to help her get her house ready for sale and everything that could possibly go wrong, did go wrong. Timing with this order was crucial and I made that clear when I placed the order. - Dumpster was first delivered in the wrong size. - Then it was delayed for two days. - It seemed impossible to get anyone to respond to phone calls and emails. - Dumpster was picked up 6! days too late and they then had the audacity to charge me partially for that. I still have not been reimbursed for this. - Then I received another invoice for an additional $500 and I have no idea what that was even for; no explanation was given either. With the original order, my account was, of course, debited immediately when I placed the order online. They did not cancel the $500 until I wrote to someone in their accounting dept. Two calls had to be placed in order to even get an email address where I could send my request and backup documentation. Overall, the service was terrible, at best. It caused my clients unnecessary stress; aggravation and we wasted a lot of time. Not to mention that I was charged for something I never asked for. Instead, I should have received a credit for the two days we did not have the dumpster available to us. I never received that either. I would NEVER recommend Waste Management to anyone. Horrible company, they lock you into A 5 year contract then proceed to triple the price of your service stating that the only thing that is fixed I'm the contract is the base rate and that the service charges can fluctuate based upon gas prices, well the gas prices haven't moved much in 5 years but the price of their service went up 300 percent. I've been using Waste Management since moving to Cave Creek a few years ago with no issues, until I moved just two blocks away to another home. At that time I called them and was able to change my pick up address with no problems. Apparently they changed my accout number. I pay my bills with Bill Pay on my bank web page and paid the last two bills on time. Because my Bill Pay account used my usual account number they sent me a notice that they were going to discontinue my service. I immediately called them, talked to a lady and gave my payment information complete with bank check conformation numbers for each payment made. She told me she would check it out and call me soon. Well, the company quit picking up my trash and no one had called. This is when I became acquainted with their CUSTOMER NONSERVICE. I have spent a solid week making many, many phone calls and only reaching their independent payment service but can't talk to a Waste Management employee. I even went to my account on their web page and left two requests for someone to call me about the confusion. NO HELP there! I believe they are very good at taking my money but they have no interest in helping me straighten out this problem. Luckily Ihave choices and I was able to find another waste pickup company. Honestly, I have never done so much to accomplish so little. I have never been so fustrated. Take it from me, look elsewhere. read more

Was told three different time frames for waste container drop offs, paid my laborers extra for lunch due to the lack of precision and professionalism. Exceedingly disappointed in Waste Management Corporation. We signed up for new service after a telephone price quote during which the representative assured us that the monthly total, after delivery/set up fees, would be a certain amount. We were looking to save some money on the service so switched from another waste pick up provider to WM. First bill arrived yesterday and it is 48% higher than quoted! Emailed the rep. who had been helping us and so quick to respond when we were setting this up and have received no response. They delivered the dumpster on the wrong day, 3 days earlier than agreed upon so the old dumpster hadn't yet been removed. That means the new dumpster was put in the wrong location. The bill prorated the charges for the delivery date -- 3 days early! Their error to deliver early then charge us for those days? How can a company pull a bait and switch like this with their pricing. My advice: STAY AWAY FROM WASTE MANAGEMENT - they are not to be trusted. read more
