Yummy Udon
Kimberly C.

Here to celebrate my birthday with 4 of my besties. Arrived at 4:30pm on a Thursday and we were seated right away. Our drink orders were taken and then our server returned to take our dinner order. 2 of us ordered Udon. There is only choice for Udon. It comes hot, temperature hot, not spicy and delicious. The vegetables are assembled separately and come with two sauces. All are delicious. One friend ordered chicken teriyaki and the portion was so big she had lots to take home for lunch the next day. The two other friends ordered rolls which they enjoyed! After dinner our server brought us containers for the leftovers. Since it was my birthday, our server brought me a cup of vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge sauce and a candle. She and another server sang me happy birthday. That was nice.

Wassabi bowl with bulgogi

Had Wassabi on Fire a couple times now, but recently had it for lunch, and it was pretty good. I ordered one of their lunch specials, a wassabi bulgogi bowl. It was good, but to be honest, the portion of meat could've been bigger considering I felt like I was filled up on rice. Or perhaps more veggies? Either way, I would've preferred less rice and more of something else. As for the restaurant itself, it was not busy today, so it was nice and chill. I think some people over by the teppanyaki tables were indulging in some music or something--that was a bit loud. I've had the sushi before though, and overall the food itself and the service is good. I would come back.

Rice with spicy teriyaki

We came to Wasabi on Fire for Valentine's Day with our two kids and had a great experience. Our reservation was at 12:30, and everything was smooth and welcoming from the start. It's rare that we get to go out and enjoy a meal together as a family, so this meant a lot to us. The food was amazing and full of flavor, and the service was just as good. Our server Sunny was incredible friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. This is officially our new favorite Teppanyaki spot. We'll definitely be coming back!

Nice place to celebrate a Birthday!

Though my friends got sushi and enjoyed it, I ordered chicken teriyaki. There was plenty of meat and a large amount of rice, with sautéed vegetables. The chicken was a bit on the dry side and the veges were limp. The rice was perfect. The service was good, when we ordered and got our food. After eating, the plates were left on the table, even though we stacked them and moved them to the side, so we could have a birthday treat for my friends. The restaurant was filled on a Thursday night! Good ambiance with lighting and decor.

"Booty on fire", "the climax", and "smells like my ex" are just of a few of the unique names you'll find on the menu. Oddly enough, my father-in-law, who joined us, said the, "smells like my ex" is his favorite menu item here"... yikes! Even though the name is not appetizing, this did look very good. It's a tower of real crab, spicy tuna, tobiko, green onion, mango, avocado & seared salmon. I didn't try this, but my father-in-law swears by it. I ordered the Max roll; shrimp tempura and avocado wrapped in salmon. Then topped with spicy mayo, sriracha, unagi sauce, and tobiko. This roll was very good and I quickly inhaled it! The raw salmon on top was extremely fresh and paired with a spicy mayo and crunchy shrimp tempura; It had all the textures you want in one bite. We also ordered some edamame and fried calamari for the table. The service was on point and our server, Lisa?, was very attentive and checked on us multiple times to make sure we liked our food or needed our drinks refreshed. Which we greatly appreciated, especially because it was so busy on a Wednesday night. Just based off their menu, they have great happy hour options with tons of food and drink deals. If I lived close by this might be a date night regular spot for my wife and I. To all the sushi snobs out there reading this, trust me I know, this is not a "traditional" sushi place, but if you're looking for a fun time and some tasty food, Wasabi On Fire is the spot!

This place is always packed. I always find the hostesses helpful and the waiter/waitress attentive. Food quality is good. A lot of cool items on their menu. Teppanyaki is fun. Lunch specials are good. Sushi rolls are good too. My fav appetizer is the tofu.

We enjoyed a delicious family sushi meal here last weekend! We had appetizers and sushi rolls and they were all delicious! The restaurant was hip and clean. The service was decent, the busboys cleared the tables quickly but our server was gone for long periods. They also forgot to make one of our rolls, but made it very quickly once we reminded them. To start, we enjoyed the edamame, seaweed salad, and cucumber salad, which were all fresh and tasty. We then shared multiple different rolls and they were all delicious! We liked one so much we ordered it again, but when it came the second time it was definitely spicier than the first so there was some inconsistency in the roll preparation. Overall a great meal!

Amazing experience all around! The sushi was fresh and flavorful, the cocktail was so good, and the colors and lighting in the restaurant created such a fun atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, and service was quick.

Lunch box with raw tuna, fried rice, and California roll.

My husband and I were craving bento lunch boxes. We were also celebrating an accomplishment. We decided to get takeout from Wassabi On Fire. We have had it before and really liked their lunch. We got there the minute they opened. They took my order and about 30 minutes later our lunch was ready. I got the fried rice, raw tuna, and California roll. It came with a salad and miso soup. My husband got the white rice, cooked salmon, and raw tuna. His also came with miso and salad. Sadly the salad didn't have very much dressing. The fried rice had a lot of black pepper but was pretty good. The tuna was fresh and the California roll was tasty. My husband said he enjoyed his food too. However, it was $50 for both meals. It was pretty pricy for not much protein. If we crave them again we may come back as not very many Japanese spots make these in a bit of a healthier way. But I think we rather eat sushi.

Climax and Unagi

First time here and didn't know what to expect. Had reservations but they weren't ready for us. We were literally handed menus then asked about drink orders. Sushi was good and the chef cooking was entertaining. Food was just OK. Not crazy about the various chefs music competing with others. Place was like a Chuck E Cheese for families with all the noise. Ordered sushi to go well before settling but waited awkwardly at our empty table. Probably won't return.

Ask the Community - Wassabi On Fire

Is there an age for small children?

I've seen kids of all ages there. Me and my family used to go all the time with 2-3 year olds. Never had an issue

Do they offer gluten free options?

There are a lot of items on the menu that do not include gluten, so you can definitely ask! I know some of the sauces may include gluten so best to ask or do research based on the menu!

It's rich without being heavy, perfectly seasoned, and you can actually taste the quality of the beef in every bite. Nothing about it felt like an afterthought side dish, it was easily one of the standout plates of the night. And then the seafood risotto... honestly unreal. Creamy, flavorful, and loaded with seafood that actually tasted fresh, not rubbery or overcooked. You can tell they take their time with it. What really made the whole experience next level was our waitress, Kammi. She had that rare mix of being super attentive without hovering. Our drinks were always refilled before we even had to ask, she timed everything perfectly, and she knew the menu inside and out. When we asked for recommendations, she didn't just list items, she actually described them in a way that made it easy to choose, and she was spot on with everything. You can tell she genuinely cares about people having a good experience, not just turning tables.cThe place was clean, service was quick, food came out hot and beautifully presented, and the vibe just felt easy and enjoyable. One of those dinners where everything just hits.

So when my son asked us to meet him, his lovely wife and our 3 granddaughters for dinner on a recent visit I didn't have my hopes up. Namikaze is a nice quiet restaurant that from its decor could easily be an Italian, French or American restaurant. Just change the paintings on the wall. The Menu is pretty expansive. A full menu of Sushi, noodles, gyoza and rolls made it difficult to choose but eventually we narrowed it down. I always try the Unagi (eel) at any sushi restaurant. It is my barometer for how good everything else will probably be. It was good. I also ordered the Kimono Roll while my wife had Shogun roll. We also tried the Chicken Gyoza. Everything was terrific. Excellent taste and fresh. Next time someone asks me about Fresno I'll say "Fresno! They have good sushi there". Definitely Recommended.

I was immediate greeted by the two Sushi chefs behind the counter as I walked in. Not long after, the host greeted me and handed me a menu for me to select my order to go. I considered a poke bowl, however, their sauces were pretty standard. So instead I opted for their seaweed salad that came with a number of protein including tuna, edamame, shrimp, avocado, and masago. It was $19, so it wasn't necessarily inexpensive, however I figured a poke bowl with a couple proteins would run me right about there as well. The sushi chef got right away to work preparing my meal and I was in and out within 5 minutes. When I got home, I opened up my box and was a little underwhelmed with the presentation. The protein is cut up into small pieces and mixed in with the seaweed salad. In addition it is not pure seaweed as it is also mixed in with a bunch of other greens such as sprouts. So while the presentation was not what I was expecting, I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed the flavors and textures. I will definitely order this again.

The avocado and eel roll, though, skimps on the eel and the avocado. The Alaska roll would've been nice to have had the salmon on top instead of a small portion in the middle. The lobster roll was very bland and tasted like imitation crab. The prices were pretty reasonable, but the amount of food could've been better within the roll. All the rolls were 8 pieces.
