Gorgeous place for a movie! Great place for a concert. Area is clean. Great place to play sports with friends and to bring your kids too.
I remember the park before it was this park and it still blows my mind what it looks like now. It's an awesome park with plenty of green space, kids in the jungle gym area, dogs in the dog park, and grownups on the Porch with a beverage. There are fun events, plenty of trees to picnic under, and honestly, if you give this park three stars, I don't know what you're comparing it to. My favorite park in Cincinnati far and away.
Love the Nutcracker story coming to life in Washington Park for the winter season. It's totally interactive and really well done. The weather has been just nice enough to make this a really nice destination for the whole family.
I inadvertently checked into Washington Park Apartments, but that won't keep me from reviewing this beautiful downtown Cincinnati park. Washington Park is right on the Connector line, which makes it convenient to get to. It's also in close proximity to Music Hall, Memorial Hall, plenty of restaurants as well as the Vine Street OTR district. A parking garage below Washington Park (yes you can park under the Park) puts all these things in easy reach. Events are scheduled at the park year round. Add to all of these positives the beauty of the park itself. It's a shining beacon that helps draw people downtown. Love it!
It's okay place if you live in the area parking is kind of hard to get but if you live in the area you can walk to it and there's a lot to do there
Beautiful downtown park with free community events all the time. They have something going on every day of the week during the summer, from Jazz on Monday at The Porch, their bar with plenty of covered seating, to Workout on the Green on Wednesdays. Follow them on social media to keep up or just come out for a stroll!
A wonderful public space with nice walking pads, a big splash pad for the kids to play in, a industrial playground, music, and bar venue, and a dog park.
What a great place to enjoy your day off! Sit and enjoy the weather; bring your kids to play in the water fountains; enjoy one of their many festivals or concerts; watch a movie after dark; grab a drink at the concession stand; reserve space for a wedding or party. Plus they have public bathrooms! Would return
Washington Park is one of the bigger parks in Cincinnati. It's just north of downtown. Located in Over The Rhine. Close to Findlay Market. There's often something happening like a festival or a parade. It's not the prettiest in the city. It's still a lot better than it was several years ago. This place used to be overrun with homeless and it wasn't somewhere to bring a family and feel safe. Now it's much safer to wander around. There's all kinds of festivals throughout the year. City Flea is a monthly market. There's also lots to do in the areas around the park. It's close to Findlay Market. There's many restaurants and shops. It's pretty easy to find. It has a parking garage under it. There's also street level parking.
This is a great park right in the middle of the Over the Rhine/Findlay Market area of Cincinnati. I have walked past or through it during every single visit to the city. It sits across the street from the music halls and one of the many theaters in town. The parks hosts monthly markets and hosted a large-scale interactive installation as part of Blink. There are relatively clean restrooms, and a bar in the park, as well as a playground and some places to sit and relax. A great addition to a great part of town!
My partner in crime sister from another mother and I attended bourbon and cigar event this summer. We didn't know what to expect. We were so happy that we made it down. We did many tasting and three of the demonstrations and pairings. There were too many samples, we could not even finish our punch card. We were in good company because we saw many people with tastings left on their card. The cost was well worth it. We also received a few gifts to take home The last event was the cigar and bourbon pairing. Oh man I felt like a grown woman. I thoroughly enjoyed this event. My only issue, there should have been more food booths to soak up a little of that bourbon.
Nice little park oasis in the heart of the big city. While it isn't the safest or nicest park in Cincy, the special events, which are often free, are the draw for me. I recently came for Tuesday night free yoga in the park. Being an experienced yogi I was impressed with the great flow of the class outside on such a large scale! It was a great, relaxing workout, and wasn't overly crowded. Nearby people were waking dogs, riding bikes, and kids were playing in the fountains. There is parking underneath, which I've never used. I usually look for meter parking or walk from a friend's apartment. Check out their events page for more upcoming free stuff such as movies in the park!
Washington Park is a gem for families in OTR and downtown Cincinnati. I love the dancing Fountains the children can play in on a hot day. Adults can enjoy this too. There is a super fun playground with a castle and a little concrete stream that loops around which I just recently discovered. The parents can sit on the surrounding wall while the children play. The stage on the north end of the park is great for concerts with an excellent sound system. I love the old fashion gazebo in the center of the park and the trees that shade the south end of the park. With the outdoor bar area, tables and food trucks a lot of family friendly events are held here. There is moderately priced and convenient parking in the under ground garage and on the surrounding streets. I hope you come and enjoy Washington Park on a regular basis.#yelpcincinnati read more
One of my favorite parks in the city for many, many reasons: 1. Location. This park is a great starting point for any days spent wandering the shops, restaurants, and bars in OTR. Also parking under Washington Park is around $5 and safer than street parking. 2. Events! Washington Park always has something going on on the weekends. There's always a different festival, movie showing, concert, or craft fair going on. Lumenocity, City Flea, and Midpoint Music Festival are a few of my favorites, but there are so many things going on here all the time! 3. Love the dog park! It's small, but they have a nice water fountain for the dogs, and the people that bring their pets here take good care of it. 4. Concession stand and free public restrooms. They serve local craft beers, wine, and cocktails on the weekends! This park is very well taken care of, safe, and great for families. Love all of the investments they have put into this park, it is definitely paying off! read more

Known as one of the most unsavory parks in the city, it may or may not be worth the visit. I've had some experiences on the outer sides of the park, but have actually not ventured into the park. Located on Elm Street right across from Memorial Hall and Music Hall. There is a bandstand and pavilion right in the center of the park. The park isn't big only taking up the width and length of a city block in Over-the-Rhine. There may be some unsavory characters and homeless people hanging down in the park so always be cautious, but also be aware that this park is beautiful and deserves attention too. Someday patrons of the arts at Music Hall will have a beautiful park to stroll in before the concert. Downtown is changing and I'm a part of that movement. Are you? read more

The new, the improved Washington Park opened today and I couldn't be more thrilled about it's much-needed facelift! Dating back to 1810, the land originated as the city's cemetery. In 1855, remains were exhumed and transported to Spring Grove Cemetery, and the space was transformed into a community park. Today, many of the features and historical artifacts have been incorporated into the new Washington Park layout. The Robert McCook Memorial and Friedrich Hecker Memorial, date from the late 1800s and remain at their original sites. The cannon, and the large boulder near it date back to the Civil War. They have been relocated near the bandstand, which has been preserved in its original 1911 location. The oldest artifacts are three headstones that were discovered during the 2012 renovation, dating back to the 1830s. For the grand opening, the Bandstand area was decorated with OTR Flags; silk flags that were hand-painted by the community. I enjoyed seeing my flag flying proudly in the breeze, and spotting my friend's flags scattered throughout. About 100 flags were created for the event, which brings a hometown presence to the park. Modern additions include: - 130 pop up jets that are synchronized to music and lights - A QR Code to select music to be played over the Muzak speakers at the park - Children's playground, complete with soft-crete, spinning handlebars, slides, and a disc swing (modern tire swing) - Life-sized canal boat with stream of water running throughout the park - Musical playground, with drums, xylophone, and pipes - Dog park - Classical Music Walk of Fame near Music Hall - Bandstand - A massive event lawn - Plenty of green space and shady trees - A convenient parking garage underneath the park I avoided going to the old Washington Park, but with the improvements and stunning views, I look forward to spending a lot of time here! read more
Simply amazing. This park was once a scary place to go. My roommates and I would make sandwiches on Sundays and go down to feed the homeless. I always felt nervous in the area. WHAT a change. The park is absolutely beautiful. It's broken up perfectly - playground for kids, a fun fountain, dog park, grassy area, place for entertainment, bathrooms, and an awesome garage underneath the park. There is something going on just about every night in the summer - yoga, opera, farmer's market, dance lessons, movies, etc... I want to experience it all! I am so happy about this part of revitalizing Cincinnati. read more

City flea that is all! Awesome local vendors that have variety of things to sell from jewelry to baked goods! ... Also great place to take your pups to play in the fenced in dog park! During city flea they sell ice cream for your lovely dogs! I bought my dog a banana peanut butter ice cream which she loved. Besides city flea the park offers free yoga classes during the week and also movie night in the lawn! Of course best of all you have a great view of the Cincinnati music hall! Which they have an awesome show called lumenocity that is held there every year. Very worth seeing read more

Washington Park is a cute park with lots of room for everyone. They have a water sprinkling system for kids and tons of grass area for picnics, family time, date day/afternoon, doing work, just relaxing, and more. They also have areas to sit and have tables if you want to sit and work. It's a space for everybody with enough room so people aren't on top of one another. I went for a picnic shoot with Tiff D. The food was provided by Goose & Elder, a restaurant located in Findlay Market and owned by Jose Salazar. They have picnic food options available that are so perfect and fitting for a nice summer day at the park. I had never been to Washington Park before the day of the shoot. I was so amazed at how big the park was. I've drove past it a few times but never really paid attention. It is a clean park and well taken care of. The day we went the weather was perfect and it was not crowded. I heard on the weekends it gets pretty crowded. Overall, I loved the vibe and atmosphere of Washington Park. I will for sure be back with the hubs and kids for a family picnic at the park. read more
Right by music hall and OTR main strip. Nice to see people outside. Saturday early morning Yoga class had over 50 people. Today there was a free arts class for kids and free popcorn and sno cones. Inexpensive parking garage and nice restrooms. Craft beers and pop for sale on weekends. Often there are markets here. Findlay market nearby. read more

There are so many great events in Washington Park during the summer! I've come to the Summer Cinema several times as well as the Workout on the Green. I particularly like the Summer Cinema line-up this year. The park is always very clean and well-kept. It's a great asset to our city! read more

I LOVE this dog park, and cannot stop saying nice things about it, but it's not quite perfect. The Pros: It's a dog park in Cincinnati - and that's saying a lot. There's a noticeable lack of these in the area. I'm hoping that Washington park is a model for things to come in the area. It's got a water feature.. so hot pooches can cool off and splash and play. Great for dogs on a summer day while playing on the hot pavement. it's mostly concrete and astroturf- when I first saw it, I thought it would be a nightmare, but the dogs don't mind the hard surface at all, and I don't have to give them a full bath every time we come home from the park. It's got free mutt-mitts. (Doggie bags) to clean up your dog's mess. These are great since they're biodegradable and don't clutter up the park with used grocery bags that people usually use to clean up after their pets. Overall, this is a huge win for the park. Small, but beautifully landscaped. And it's in the center of so much activity downtown. It makes me want to be a bigger part of downtown. The Cons: In the summer, the dog hair builds up, clogging the drain on the water feature once every hour or so. This is forgivable since they DO clean it regularly. The park is relatively new, and I'm guessing there is no simple fix to this, but it makes the whole park look like a dirty moat when it overflows. The park (even though beautifully designed) is a bit small. The big dogs have a hard time getting up to full speed, and when it gets crowded, you really notice it. The landscaping has evolved a bit over time as they continue to work out gardening challenges in a dog-friendly space. (Originally, they had a big patch of thorny roses along one wall, which dogs and leashes were constantly getting caught in.) But my one remaining gripe is that the east side of the dog park has pea gravel which always overflows and looks sloppy across the park. All in all - It's as good as Cincinnati gets when it comes to dog parks. read more

Man what an outstanding addition to downtown. Are you kidding me? This is one of the nicest areas in the city much less downtown. I have been here for many events and the park is an outstanding and versatile place for events. I've seen a Rob Base concert, shopped at The City Flea, been through the water park, watched movies on the screens, and even taken my dogs to the dog park. All of this in one 8 block area of downtown. The neighboring Music Hall is a fantastic sight to see as you peruse through the park doing whatever you please. The great thing about the park is that there are so many different backgrounds of people coming together to enjoy single entity. It really is fun to see this happening in Cincinnati. The park is uber safe, with lights covering the entire park as well as the surrounding roadways, and cameras as well keeping an eye on things. There are also police officers walking around and talking to people and taking in the festivities as well. There is now a great parking garage located below the park so parking will not be as much of an issue, especially with Music Hall touting large crowds. One thing that I can't wait for is the development of the area surrounding Washington Park. There are already signs of new restaurants, bars, and shops popping up to support the new park. Enzo's has always been a great coffee shop hidden on Race St., The Anchor which just opened seems to be a legitamate seafood option finally for downtown, and the much anticipated Zula will be opening in November. I can't help but think Washington Park's development will only help this area even more. I can't think of a more pleasant place to spend my weekends than at a park, and Washington Park is definitely he cream of the crop. It is always a great thing to walk my dogs down to the park and enjoy the happenings on any given day. read more

Washington Park, post makeover, has provided a handful of really wonderful, exciting, diverse experiences for me. I think this is exactly what the planners and investors, moreover the neighborhood (I hope), expected and sought out. The space is fresh, clean, exciting, open. There is a park for everyone here: kids play areas with things to climb on and run around, a dog park to catch some pretty cute pups playing, water features that proved very helpful on warm summer days, music that comes randomly from the trees at times, and a stage. There is also art work throughout with mosaics, statues, and for a while at least, painted pigs. I have had the pleasure of milling around here just relaxing and enjoying myself, I've also playing in the water a bit, watched people from many walks of life gather in this spot, and watched AVP volleyball. That was an unexpected addition for me, but speaks to the potential and versatility of this space. I know there are many planned and ongoing events in the park involving movies, music, and kid oriented education. I think this is wonderful! I have yet to partake in the more structured activities, but even without that...the park is peaceful, hopeful, and a huge benefit to the city of Cincinnati. read more

I love, Love, LOVE Washington Park! It reminds me of Union Square in NYC. It's a great venue for festivals, live music, community events, etc. I love the energy that it brings to the OTR area. And the parking garage is so convenient! My one complaint about this park is the dog park. It's small and awkward, and therefore always packed. If your dog is over 10lbs or so and you want him to actually be able to run, this isn't the place to do it. It is really nice that there's no grass - some other dog parks turn into muddy swamps during the rainy season. I might feel differently about the Washington Park dog park if we lived walking distance - I certainly wouldn't make a special trip for it, though. read more
the dog park here is great! there are always so many pups running around and the water features are great for the summer. Especially since its running/clean water, you just have to let your dog dry off for a bit after. The park in general is so fun and pet friendly during festivals and events. I've attended numerous food and family festivals and all have been fun and well put together. My favorite part of the park is that whenever you're there, there is something random going on from live music, to theater performaces, bootcamps, kickball etc. It makes going to the park an experience each time. read more

Me & my dog LOVE this park, i love the location, it's great to spend some time in the park & then take a walk across the street and grab a bite to eat. The park is always well kept, and looks beautiful at night with the new lights stringing over the patio. They recently added tables and a bar on the patio with corn hole, chess, etc. They host fun events for example yoga on the lawn, flea markets, and much more. We come down here often, and absolutely love it. Definitely a place to check out if you have children (playground), dogs (dog park) or simply just want to take a walk in the park. read more
