From the beginning of my journey, I felt like I was more than just a patient. Dr. Devine has been incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate throughout every step. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made a very overwhelming process feel much more manageable. Carrie was consistently supportive and responsive, always making sure my questions were answered and that I felt informed and cared for. Her kindness and attention to detail made a real difference during a stressful time. Hanaa Gordie also provided excellent care and reassurance. She was professional, kind, and made each interaction feel calm and encouraging, which meant a lot during such an emotional journey. Fertility treatment can be overwhelming, but having a team that shows genuine care, respect, and dedication makes all the difference. I am grateful for the support I received from this team and the role they played in my experience at Shady Grove.

With comments like, "you haven't eaten breakfast have you?" "have you drank enough water today?" or "your veins roll too easily" ... I have had so many bruises and countless bad experiences over the 2 years I worked with them. I was once made to wait an hour and a half to be seen because I arrived 10 minutes late due to inability to find parking. No one explained why, or apologized. I asked multiple times why I was still waiting and they just kept telling me someone would see me soon. I did eventually have a successful pregnancy thanks to them, but now that I am looking to have a second child I will absolutely not be returning to SGF.

I've been a patient of Dr. Pineda's for several years. I came to her after having several…read morephysicians in the DC area that were horrible. I finally decided my health was too important to put up with doctors that have no business practicing medicine. Dr. Pineda is the only physician that's given me personal attention, asked questions, listened to my responses, explained my health, and recommended changes to achieve optimal health. She's an endocrinologist as well as a board-certified internist (contrary to another review), so she does order blood tests other doctors never recommended to me. As a result, she identified issues that were never identified by my previous doctors. Occasionally, I've waited a little longer than I would've liked but all doctors get behind sometimes and she never rushes you out of her office half-listening to your concerns like some experiences I've had. She's also responsive via email.

Probably the worst, meanest back office medical staff in the city, and that's saying a lot. So when she needed her prescriptions renewed, they said she needed an appointment in person -- no video appointment -- before she could get her meds. The only way to get the prescriptions was if she paid $15 per prescription. Kafka couldn't have come up with a better scheme. Be very wary if this doctor. Avoid if you possibly can and only if you have no other choice. A friend asked for her annual physical from her and Dr Pineda refused we think because it doesn't reimburse enough from insurance.

Responding to GWs request to leave a review of my visit to the 6th floor dermatology: My first (and…read morewonderful) experience in this office is what drove me to my second visit, and my second visit was not great and I will not be a returning patient. I'm rating as a 2 because I was seen by the provider and my concern was addressed. 1. Entering the office, someone from GW was at the front desk talking to the receptionist. I (the only patient at 745am) sat and waited several minutes for their conversation to end. It struck me as odd that they would not opt to check in a patient first, then proceed to finish their conversation. It was definitely odd from a patient sat standpoint. 2. Instead of someone coming out to the front to greet me, they yelled my name from somewhere in the back office. I felt like a child being yelled at by my mother in another room in a house. It actually took me a minute to realize they were talking to me because of how inappropriate this behavior was. As someone who has visited many medical spaces for myself and supporting physicians, this was an absolute and shocking first. After realizing I was being called, I said, 'yes', and was advised to 'come back'. I had not been to this office in over a year, and had only been once, I had no idea where I was going. 3. The overall feeling of this office space was cold and lacking any warmth or positive energy. I left feeling like I had done something wrong because I had felt an overall sense of annoyance. After many days of this visit being on my mind, it seems like there had been some changes since last year that definitely affected this space. It was no longer cheerful, warm, or happy. I was relieved to walk out of there.

I've been to the Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) | Sexual Health and Gender Affirmation Center…read moretwice now and both times my experience has been great. Dr. Anita Mikkilineni is very kind, knowledgeable, and everyone I've interacted with has great bedside manner. Both of my appointments have been in the morning and I've never waited more than a few minutes before being seen.
