My unboxed take out order. Sashimi deluxe, salad, rice & soups.
Linda V.

Whenever I'm visiting in the area I just have to order from Wasabi34. The food is excellent and it is delivered with a smile every time! If you are a sushi Lover order from here! or visit the restaurant. Fast service and special requests are always followed. I recommend this restaurant.

Chef's Special for 2.

Always a little nervous when you enter a restaurant and only one table is occupied, do we stay or do we go. We stayed. Plenty of help here, three men behind the sushi bar, all busy. Maybe they are still doing a big pick up business. A server was quick to open our wine and ask about drinks. We ordered the Chefs Special for 2, 10 sushi, 21 shashimi and 3 rolls. $66. All the fish seemed fresh. The roll were simple not specialty rolls. The sashimi were cut very thin, 3 pieces of 7 fish, including octopus. Sushi was very basic too. Overall everything was ok, good, not special.

Maki Dinner for 2

The food and service were incredible. Ambiance is cute and cozy, but definitely nice. Went on a Saturday evening and got seated quickly and food was really good. Got the maki dinner for two with my partner and we thought it was good quality, fresh, and adequately priced. Comes with miso soup and a salad too which was a pleasant surprise. Got some fried chicken wings (not pictured) to go and had those as a later snack. Also very good.

Very very good spot . The wait was really long but it was COVID so understandable . But I have ate here a couple of times and well worth it !!

First course of omakase. Seafood Sunomono ... good was seasoned quite nicely.

Second visit and did not disappoint. The Omakase here is one of the best. Amazing staff. Just an awesome hidden gem. Cant wait till the sushi bar seating opens up.

I had a bad experience here. It was not something I recommend you try out. We were seated and got immediate attention. We ordered an udon soup and some rolls. The waiter brought a chicken udon stir fry. Despite us telling them we wanted soup and asked for soup they argued that wasn't what we ordered. There's really no point in arguing it and we really weren't going to win. We got served some oily udon stir fry which was not what we wanted. Our rolls were okay too. Again, nothing mind blowing and nothing bad. I think we were so disappointed by the experience overall that it really prevented anything else from being excellent. The spider roll was good. The Philly and spicy though weren't special. Aside from the udon disagreement we had a really really bad fried green tea ice cream. The batter wasn't completely fried and soggy. The ice cream just as green without the green tea matcha flavor. For a dinner that cost $45 it was not worth it. I really don't understand the hype. It's a mediocre local sushi place that isn't run by Japanese people. The service was bad and I can't believe we got in an argument about soup. I would avoid this place.

We love it here. We always get the omakaese. It's the best experience. I trust the sushi chefs will not only do it justice but will impress me. They do. Maybe it's because I always look over and blow them a kiss. No, really. It's made with love. Always, always get the fresh wasabi.

Pre pandemic this place was on my list to try. My daughter and I were craving sushi though so we rolled the dice. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and although we had sticker shock when we looked at the menu? The portion size totally made up for it. Delivery time is a little long, but expected. The food? Totally worth the wait, and we'll definitely be patronizing this place when we're able to.

OYSTER roll is one of the best rolls I got here... but, I personally think that this place is pricy. The sashimi is pretty fresh.

This is our go-to Japanese restaurant. The sashimi is so fresh. Great variety of cooked and uncooked food. Delicious!

The lunch specials are a great deal. I just moved back into the area and this was one of the first places I ordered from.

Just came back from having dinner here. Surprise surprise. Another AYCE spot in Jersey…read more Overall, the fish quality was decent and the sashimi pieces were large. Good selection of hot food too. The service was quite slow even though the restaurant was empty. It took a while for the sushi to arrive, and by that time, we started feeling full from the appetizers. We knew we were not going to get our money's worth tonight. Towards the end of our meal, we started smelling a poopy stench in the air - yes you heard me, POOPY! It made me completely lose my appetite. I'm so done with sushi buffets...never again :(

Tried this spot twice!!!! Once when they first opened and once very recently. Ambiance looks dated,…read morenot modern and not period or style correct, just dated. The menu was a mix of Japanese and Chinese dishes. Unfortunately they missed the mark on both. At some point, halfway through the meal I thought to myself, wow these flavors are way off, do they even know how to cook or know the flavors that the customers are looking for. (Why would you put wasabi in the bbq squid that comes with teriyaki sauce), to order hibachi you need to order everything separately. The service was kind and attentive but very disorganized even though it was only 2 tables being served. Do NOT order the all-you- can-eat, waste of money, too expensive for the quality and flavor combinations. Only get it if you just want to shovel food down your gastronomical hole. Hate doing poor reviews!!! This is only meant for the owners/managers to take note and fix it all, and create value for the customer.

The bar honestly wasn't high, but this was probably the best dining experience I've had in Keyport,…read moreor close to it. I came here this past Saturday for an early dinner with the Millennial Chum and Co. I've driven or walked by this place a bunch of times, and I've always liked the exterior - it reminds me of an NYC Irish bar, if that makes sense. Not what I'd expect from a sushi establishment. I will say as a caveat that it IS smaller inside than I expected; it's basically one narrow corridor, so as a result it doesn't really have an opportunity to flex its interior design muscles too much. Not really a negative per se, and not something I think they can really do much about unless they move somewhere else with more square footage to play around with. I was a little apprehensive when I looked at the menu and saw they were boasting multiple Asian genres, including the aforementioned sushi but also some Thai, Chinese and Korean. (No, I didn't realize it was Asian fusion, which would have immediately explained this.) In my experience, having TOO varied of a menu can blow up in a restaurant's face, but regardless I came to try the sushi and went right to the special rolls. I opted for the Lover Roll and the Volcano Roll. The Volcano was okay for the most part - this was on me, but I didn't realize it had jalapeno in it, which is clearly referenced in the menu. I don't mind it from a taste perspective, but I hate the crunchy texture in a sushi roll (same with cucumber, which is a sushi dealbreaker for me). It was very easy to remove, and otherwise a perfectly fine roll. I think presentation value-wise it could use something since it basically looks like a pile of sawdust with the lobster salad on top, but it didn't diminish the taste. The Lover is excellent, and I wasn't too surprised to catch multiple sightings of it on other plates as we were walking out. The optics on that one were very unique, a bifurcated heart shape with a heavy dose of predictable pinks and reds. I hadn't really thought about it until now, but my sushi taste tends to go pretty savory with an emphasis on spicy tunas and wasabi mayo, that kind of thing. This is definitely on the sweeter side, which I'm assuming is primarily because of the honey. Regardless, it pairs really well with the rest of the ingredients. One of the better new sushi rolls I've tried recently, and it doesn't seem like I'm in the minority on that one. The service was very good; the Millennial Chum has been here before and said she'd had some issues on prior visits. Thankfully not a problem on this particular adventure - everyone had plans later in the evening and we were able to get in and out of here pretty quickly, probably within 40, 45 minutes or so. The price point wasn't bad either. Admittedly I'm used to being gauged on the regular in Midtown Manhattan, but special rolls being around $15 are a treat in and of itself. I'm not going to say that this is mouth-droppingly amazing sushi, but I think you have to grade on a slight curve in this area - Monmouth is pretty much a barren wasteland when it comes to its gastro offerings so when you find something decent, it's worth noting. Nemo is worth noting.

Still the absolute best. I love that you can get sushi and a variety of so many wonderful dinners…read more In the summer there are fabulous views sitting on the deck looking at the water.
