A flick of the wrist found me this place ...good.ol yelp…read more We were greeted immediately and led us to the nearest table. The decor was simplistic laden with Square tables with crockery to match . Impulsively we scanned through the menu, purely with sushi in mind. It's always easy for me to choose what I want. Tuna and salmon maki and sashimi yes please. Everything was reasonably priced, and the sake was was of good quality. While sipping on this warmed up beverage we decided on a spicy ramen each. I requested that the ramen noodles were replaced with udon, this was granted. The sushi itself was good, however the ramen was a little bit of a let down. The broth was flavoursome and contained the usual half egg, sweetcorn, beansprouts etc. But I couldn't understand how my epic sized salmon was so drY despite it was submerged in a spicy pond. The shredded beef in my partners ramen dish was shredded so much that it had a "already chewed consistency" and seasoned oddly..so for the £8.50 it was...okay but I have had so much better for the price. Overall definitely give this place a go, pricing was reasonable..but I would try a non soupy dish for the main...

Ordered delivery via deliveroo. Just two mains and some spring rolls. It confirmed immediately and…read morethen said this would be delivered by their own driver so there's no tracking. The ETA was for about 45 mins after I placed the order. An hour after I placed the order I tried calling, to find that the phone number wouldn't ring and would immediately say 'user busy'. I tried 105 more times just pressing redial, which took me up to an hour and a half after ordering. That's when I spoke to Deliveroo and they just offered to cancel it and refund - which is so infuriating when you're so hungry and have waited this long for food?! Then we ordered a huge McDonald's order. 2 hours and 20 minutes after I ordered the food, it showed up. 2 minutes after this my maccies showed up. I have no idea why they delivered the freezing cold food. And the delivery driver mumbled 'sorry for your wait' and walked off. Don't bother ordering delivery.

Okay, so this was my first experience in the whole to sushi thing and I actually really enjoyed it…read more When my group went in, there was 9 of is they sat us on two tables, but one either side of the belt so we could still talk. We also went in quite late, so anything we really wanted we predominantly ordered over being able to get off the belt (which was no issue to me). Being a vegetarian I was very careful if I were to pick anything up so I ordered hot food mainly. I was really hoping they would have rice, which I found strange that they didn't. Noodles instead were fine though. Vegetable tempura here is spot on, so much I had more than I probably should have done. I also got the chocolate pancakes and they were AMAZING. Only wish more of them came on the plate. Service was decent, I found the buzzer system quite a strange concept but I can understand why they would do that. Drink selection wise, I wish there was more, they don't have a mass selection of drinks and what they do have is pretty basic - mostly bottles and cans which can make it expensive. Overall for my first time there I was quite impressed. I would definitely go back because not only was it decent food but I enjoyed the different style of eating. Picking and choosing and having food in small quantities is really nice. Overall good place and they have a 25% student discount which made my meal with drink around £14.

Yummyyyyy! I'm a big…read morefan of sushi so was well excited to discover that Trinity Leeds would have it's own branch, rather than having to traipse uncomfortably through Harvey Nicks, feeling very out of place, to get my fix. As it's part of a chain, the Yo! experience was much as I expected, yummy dishes going around on the belt, and delicious options to order from the menu. I've been in a few times since it opened and it's always been pretty busy, especially when there's a promotion on, and as someone who could easily eat their own bodyweight in sushi, I need the promos to make filling my face affordable. I must admit I was a bit disappointed that the restaurant wasn't a bit bigger, but there are a few booths kind of hidden around the back of the belt which gives a little bit of extra room. This branch of Yo! loses a star from me compared to the Harvey Nicks branch as the only time I've been and had to use the facilities, the toilets were a mess! A broken sink, water all over the place, toilet roll everywhere... yack! Reading others' reviews about the toilets being nice though, perhaps this was just a one-off? Hmmm will have to go again to see.... Blue Monday anyone....?

This place has a great location…read more The service was slow, I don't think they hired enough people for the early dinner rush. The food was just okay and the conveyor belt choices didn't look great. I guess I'm spoiled living in So Cal. It's very easy to order though.

Oh my flippin' manga daydream. Right. I'm not a sushi fan, traditionally. I've really tried. I've…read moremasticated many a salmon skin roll, and seriously tried to enjoy the odd texture, seaside flavour and salty taste. But I've always failed- there was just something about the seaweed and moist pink pulpous flesh that I couldn't abide. Apparently, until now. After a meet up with a new friend I realised it was almost criminally past lunch time and I'd not yet eaten a thing. He was headed out to Yo! Sushi and so invited me along - my first sentence being, "Mmmkay, do they do things NOT sushi?!" Well, that they do. So we arrived and we greeted and seated really nicely, wandering around a full half of the venue, which is possibly the most exciting place I've ever been. Maybe that's an exaggeration. I don't know. I was giddy as a school kid on their first ever sugar rush from snorting sherbert twizzlers. (Or similar.) The conveyor belts of delightful little dishes! On a constant rotation before you! The fibre optic poles! The televisions with Japanese Russian-doll like characters! The little personal water taps! The mini dishes for soy and wasabi! The tiny tiny pepper pots! Literally, I was high on life. Everything needed looking into. It was way too exciting. So, once our other dining companion came to join us, we began taking our treats off the ever-kinetic shelf. We started with those green beans that you pop out between your teeth and a really light sushi dish. Being so ignorant, I'll explain what it looked like. Black something holding together rice with a mini bit of prawn/tuna/salmon inside. Anyway, I loved it. Yes it was a little fishy, yes it was a little seaweedy, but with some soy and wasabi I was happy as Larry. Who ever he is, anyway. I didn't try the caviar dappled one, which was practically luminous, but I did enjoy a few other lightly fish-ed bits. I also had some mini duck pancake affair, a dish of their Yakisoba (which was nice, but not nearly as tasty as Fuji Hiro) and some kind of Japanese pancake situation to finish. Everything was amazing. The staff, the setting, the seats. Oh the excitement! My green tea was refilled 3 times, all for free, as was my companions' miso soup. And with dishes for as little as a couple of quid, with three or four depending on which you choose coming in at around the ten-fifteen pound mark, it's well worth it on a lunchtime. The three of us had over 12 bowls and paid about fifteen quid each. Bargain. I simply love it!

Tried something new last night and was well impressed with our decision…read more Again, taking advantage of a 'livingsocial' voucher which always encourages me to try something for a taster and see if I would pay full price- on this occasion, just that happened. We booked in for 6pm but due to the awful weather I didn't get there until 6.20 but my Mr was having a beer and chilling in the very calming 'bar' area. The entrance is a bit daunting and the door needs a firm hand to open but then you are transported into a Japanese paradise! Across the bridge you go, beautiful fish swimming underneath, to be greeted by a very 'traditional' waitress and seated for drinks. The drinks menu is ok, couple of beers and a wine list and also spirits etc so something for everyone. We had a few minutes to browse the menu before they came to take our order. I'm glad we were limited to the 'early bird' choice with the voucher we had as I was over faced with the choice available and would have taken ages to choose had I had to use the full menu! We were seated around the table and waited for our starters - Zensai - A mixture of Japanese Appetisers Yasai Tempura - Vegetables Both dishes were well presented, nice and hot and a pleasure to eat! We polished them off quite quickly. The vege tempura was lovely and light and we had a nice selection of mini Japanese nibbles on the 'Zensai'. We then had another couple come and be seated right next to us which we found a bit strange! They also were then served their starters. Another couple then were sat opposite us which added to our confusion a little more but then the neighbouring couple filled us in! This is the traditional seating pattern of Japanese, all sit together no matter who & around one table/hot plate to all enjoy the show! Ahhh, I get it now! Maybe I should have done more thorough research! The third couple got their starters which the 'hostess' attended to more drinks for us and the chef set up for his 'show'. We were then treated to a very entertaining dining experience while our main courses were cooked. A dazzling array of skills with the cooking utensils and a flash of fire! We had chosen- Fillet of Beef with Oriental Mushrooms & Chicken Teriyaki with leeks but all the food was cooked on the one hot plate- even the other couples fish which I wasn't overly impressed with as I'm not a big fish fan. The beef was lovely and tender and the only criticism we'd have was there didn't appear to be a lot! The chicken was also very tender and a slightly bigger portion! Even though we thought there wasn't enough, by the time we had ate the fried rice and stir fried veg we were too stuffed to even consider the dessert. As we had somewhere to be we paid quickly and rushed out- a shame really but totally our own fault- we should have allowed longer to appreciate the experience. This place is very entertaining and the food is super Very fresh and filling and totally worth a return visit. Best to go with more than 2 to make the most of the 'experience'.

Mind-blowingly good, wallet-achingly expensive Japanese food-theatre…read more After trawling through reviews for dinner in Leeds we finally stumbled upon Teppanyaki where we could use our taste card to good effect. Our table was booked for 9, they took our food and drinks orders whilst we waited, our attention distracted briefly from our rumbling stomachs by the koi carp pond. We had to wait about half an hour until we were seated, but goodness was it worth the wait! The starter of beef sashimi was melt-in-the-mouth tender and served with a tasty dipping sauce, absolutely faultless! Appetites truly whetted, the real drama begins. The chef enters centre stage and proceeds to prepare our meals and six others with a pyrotechnic display of culinary stagecraft. Dazzled by the bright lights and flashing knives, I had King prawns and jumbo scallops in a Tokyo butter, which is as exciting and delicious as it sounds. Just one star off for the long wait and for priceyness (even with the taste card). This is Japanese food-wizardry at its finest!

Cheap and good sushi, what more could you ask for?…read more This was previously (and briefly) part of an attempt at a chain of 2 restaurants by Crazy Wendy's Thai in West Didsbury. Doring Sushi Bar has had a temporary sign up since opening at the tail end of last summer but I hope they are here permanently. I love sushi and I especially love low priced sushi! I had a platter of mixed sushi for £10 which I thoroughly enjoyed and didn't have left overs as I planned. My friend got salmon with edamame and rice and gave it a good report back. They also have the usual Japanese fare of chicken katsu, gyoza, etc on offer. I went on a quiet Wednesday lunchtime but I imagine this place us doing well in the evenings as Chorlton needed a sushi place, I now realise. The service was very friendly and the right level of attentiveness. There was an 80s mix CD on with the likes of A-ha and Cyndi Lauper which also pleased me. So, basically, I was a happy lady and I will return very soon.

Great value delicious sushi a 20 minute walk from my front door? Sign me up!…read more My friend came to visit and requested sushi because sushi is what you eat while on holiday according to her, and so I jumped at the chance to try Doring for the first time. We grabbed a table outside - beware the love seat, it is not very comfortable - and set about planning our feast. I can't remember everything that we ordered but we had some gyoza and edamame to start and then had an array of sushi and sashimi. All delicious, and the portions are pretty generous for the price. I was worried that we hadn't ordered enough, my friend was worried we had ordered too much, but it turned out to be a pretty satisfactory amount. We shared a bottle of house white wine which was perfectly fine. We also had some sake which I didn't love, though maybe I am just spoiled after the recent Yelp event featuring sake. The service was not great. Our waitress was very nice but seemed totally flustered. Thankfully as we were there for a nice leisurely meal this didn't bother us too much. Overall I really rate this place and I'll be back!

As a vegetarian I was fairly happy with the food choices. If you eat fish and other meats don't worry, there's plenty of choice for you too!!!. I enjoyed a portion of inari sushi and a beautiful bowl of mushroom and cabagge ramen with soya sauce broth and thick Udon noodles (Kinoko Udon). The hot food is cooked to order but you were welcome to grab anything that took your fancy from the belt, if what you fancy is not on the belt you just order it from one of the lovely staff members. You can eat in, order food for collection, order via uber eats, justeat, etcétera. The restaurant had a decent amount of people without being too busy (but I suppose Mondays at 1830 are fairly quiet anyway!) and I saw about 6 deliveries being collected, plus two orders to take away (this tells me the restaurant must be fairly popular with the locals.) You can take away lunch for just £4.95. Service was prompt, staff were friendly and efficient. Food was very tasty and freshly made. I wish I had been with my fiancé so I could have order some vegetable tempura to share . I would happily come back .

They are on the tastecard listing which used to be 2for1 but now it's only on sushi and not the noodles! It was a great saving before!! I do like their noodles especially veg tempura with udon noodles. The bowls are slightly smaller than Wagamamas but much cheaper! I tend to eat there about 6pm so it's quite easy to get a table or sit at the conveyor belt, it's one of the only places I feel okay sitting on my own!!
