The sushi in this restaurant is very delicious and authentic. The sashimi is also very fresh and inexpensive.

Not so good. Although it's a really Japanese restaurant, the food tastes not as good as I ate before in other places.

Having been at an event all day we had certainly worked up an appetite…read more The agenda was to seek out some sushi, however walking along Oldham Street I spotted this place. I am a massive fan of ramen and cook this dish at home regularly. Having not heard of this place before I suggested we scarp the sushi and head here ( believe me it takes a lot for me to abandon my sushi mission) On entering, the ambiance washed over me immediately, nicely spaced out tables with soothing music. The gent behind the bar took heed of us promptly and welcomed us to sit anywhere. Menus were handed out and although the cocktails sounded delish I was watching my pennies after having spent a fair amount at the event. Unlike me I stuck with the tap water and went straight for the ramen. These started off at £10.50 I did not pay too much attention to the appetisers. Himself chose the basic Tonkatsu which included pork belly and crackling. I was tempted by this but chose to go with the curried soft shell crab tonkatsu which was the most expensive £14.50. They arrived promptly and I have to say the broth was a magnitude of flavour. The soft shell crab I prioritised to prevent it from getting soggy and snaffled the perfectly soft boiled eggs. Apart from some spring onion and noodles, these were the only ingredients. What I would say overrall, I think the Shoryu Ramen place offers more in diversity and ingredients when it comes to the ramen however I felt a lot more comfortable sat in this venue. Also I believe paying this price for ramen is a little bit expensive especially as I know how much it costs to scrape one together. Will I be back? Yes I would not mind trying more of their food along with their alcoholic beverages..

Than a steaming bowl of ramen? We were greeted by a very cheerful server who took us through the menu options - basically there are several ramen choices and several bao bun options. We both went with ramen though - Sparky had tonkotsu, I went for the spicy nagoya. Both bowls were absolutely delicious - probably the best ramen I've had in Manchester. Drink wise they had a wide choice of beer and cocktails - we were surprised and happy to see they had draught Asahi so we went with a couple of those. Overall there's nothing to fault here. Great food, great drink, friendly service and reasonable prices.

As you enter the ominous opening at the bottom and ascend the stairs you would be forgiven for thinking that upstairs was some terrible dive of a bar, where danger could be lurking. But no, quite the opposite. I was confronted with a rather glitzy bar area, the air of posh all around, and customers wearing distinctly dressier garments than the effective rags I now felt I was draped in. Embarrassment. My friend held similar sentiments. Anyway, off to the bar we trot. I ordered a rasberry mojito, which was the advised drink of choice, and my friend something with a star fruit in it. The mojito was not in fact the best mojito in Leeds. It was slightly too sour, very weak and not very rasberry. Perhaps I had a bad bar tender. My friend's mysterious cocktail was interesting - we mostly enjoyed the star fruit to be honest. So, having been relieved of nearly £15 we vacated, aware of the eyes looking down their noses at our tatty jeans, as we descended the stairs and on into the night. I haven't, needless to say, paid Chino Latino a secondary visit.

And looking from the street, Chino Latino doesn't give off the impression of being very 'open' either. Oh, but it is. Chino Latino is the place to go if you like Asian food. Not specifically Indian, not specifically Chinese, not specifically Japanese - Pan-Asian, you know? No? Me neither. But I like it. The decor is gloomy, like the front, but it works. Kind of. The subtle lighting gives Chino Latino an almost glamorous feel, a restaurant that makes you feel like you could be anywhere in the world. That's special.

I won't lie the prices are a little steep.. I got salt and pepper squid tentacles at £7.90.. to be fair it was the only one we considered worth the money because the squid was nice and soft and you got a nice crisp from the thin coating on the outside, it tasted really nice but it was a little dry because it came with no dipping sauce or anything just to make it easier to swallow. We also ordered the ma lat beef, which tasted nice too but didn't have a kick when it said it was supposed to be spicy.. harbour king prawns which was also dry but in its defence i think it was supposed to be like that because the king prawns in it were beautifully cooked. The chicken in black bean sauce tasted nice and also the the won tons from the mixed starter to share were very good.. they did charge over £5 for a portion of bean sprouts and also the house special rice cost over £10. All in all I'd give it 3.5 stars but I though giving it three stars on here wouldn't be fair to knock their rating down. They also add on an optional 10% service charge onto your bill, so if you don't want to pay it then you have to check your bill properly, we chose to pay ours because in the end.. it was a nice evening out.

It's a little bit…read moredifferent to your average take away, as the menu avoids stacking up the greasy options of donner meat and shit burgers, and veers more towards special grills and other treats. The first meal I had was their lamb chops from the grill, mash, and veg. I have to say, I was really impressed. The lamb chops were cooked beautifully, and had a lovely charcoal grill taste. The mash, which could easily have been smash I suppose, tasted lovely and buttery and the veg were freshly steamed and piping hot. Considering the cost, it was a really decent meal to order for tea - most of the time, getting a take away means eating more than you need, and isn't a healthy option. The second meal I had was their tikka masala. I opted for the chef special version, which was a quid more, just to see how special it was. It was pretty special. Made spicier than usual, it had a nice kick, and was well balanced. The only thing I wished was that it had more sauce for my rice. Chips were good, and plentiful. I'd been piggy, and ordered charcoal paneer too, which was an excellent choice. You get six huge pieces of paneer, herbed and charcoaled, and they were delicious. It all came with three little dips, garlic mayo, raita, and another red minty one, all of which were lush. They even gave me a wee salad box - nice touch! And nice try to keep me healthy, Lahore. Sadly I scoffed the other bits before I could think about being good to myself... Finally, although it's not rocket science, their milkshakes are to die for. I went for the Rolo shake, which was everything I desired it to be - sweet, chocolatey, caramel overtones, and blended really well. It cooled down the curry a treat, and I highly recommend you give 'em a go. I'll let you know - the milkshake actually swung the decision to get Lahore. I love a decent beverage selection! So, if you're in the area, or just want to avoid going shopping - this is a decent spot to grab a bite.

The decor was simplistic laden with Square tables with crockery to match . Impulsively we scanned through the menu, purely with sushi in mind. It's always easy for me to choose what I want. Tuna and salmon maki and sashimi yes please. Everything was reasonably priced, and the sake was was of good quality. While sipping on this warmed up beverage we decided on a spicy ramen each. I requested that the ramen noodles were replaced with udon, this was granted. The sushi itself was good, however the ramen was a little bit of a let down. The broth was flavoursome and contained the usual half egg, sweetcorn, beansprouts etc. But I couldn't understand how my epic sized salmon was so drY despite it was submerged in a spicy pond. The shredded beef in my partners ramen dish was shredded so much that it had a "already chewed consistency" and seasoned oddly..so for the £8.50 it was...okay but I have had so much better for the price. Overall definitely give this place a go, pricing was reasonable..but I would try a non soupy dish for the main...

I tried 105 more times just pressing redial, which took me up to an hour and a half after ordering. That's when I spoke to Deliveroo and they just offered to cancel it and refund - which is so infuriating when you're so hungry and have waited this long for food?! Then we ordered a huge McDonald's order. 2 hours and 20 minutes after I ordered the food, it showed up. 2 minutes after this my maccies showed up.
