The place was clean and looked sufficiently oriental to whisk the diner if not to China at least to a curb outside a house owned by people of Chinese decent. Now, the Flaming Dragon chain advertise a fixed price of £5.99 for diners under 16 but what they don't tell you is that you have to have proof that you are under 16 in order to qualify so the 12 and 13 year olds in the group had to pay full price. If you are X-scape and simply must have Chinese then I suppose it will do but if you just need to eat then there are loads of better options. If you have children don't even think about going here.

All the usual favourites are there but there is so much more. My particular favourite is the Mongolian Lamb curry but The Royale has also introduced me to frogs legs (something I swore I'd never eat) which were delicious. We now use the Royale when there are a lot of us eating as large orders don't seem to faze them, I normally pick up to save on delivery but there have been occasions when laziness happens and I have found the delivery to be very timely. I have noticed that the restaurant always seems empty (it doesn't help that it's so big) and I am now determined to do my bit to fill it as soon as I can by taking the family or friends (or even random friendly people) there for the all you can eat banquet.

We have been looking for a Chinese buffet for a while that is good value with nice food. My husband…read moresaw this so we decided to try it. I was pleasantly surprised. The decor is nice. I've been in buffets before that have almost resembled the dining hall in a really rough high school but this had a calming and relaxing feel to it. The tables are well spaced so you don't feel like you're eating from a stranger's lap (that happened to me once - that was enough). We went for the lunch buffet and the selection of dishes was okay. Three was something for everyone. A great range of starters and mains were available. Three were some stations that were unused but I'm guessing they're probably used during the evening buffet. The food we tried was delicious. The service was exceptional with very attentive staff who made sure everyone was kept happy.
