Anyone who knows me knows that I have a bit of a problem with raw slimy fish. Try as I might, I still haven't found a sushi or sashimi that I can get accustomed to, which is a shame as my sushi loving friends never cease to inform me about how healthy and tasty it is. I've had some fortune with the vegetarian sushis, but anything wrapped in seaweed is a non starter for me - do I want the taste of the sea in my mouth, when it brings back memories where great waves knocked me down and filled my gob with sand and salt? Naw, you're alright pal.
Anyway, the point of all this rambling is thus: Juici Sushi caters for us non-super-healthy-sushi fiends. Fantastic! For my virgin visit here, to lunch with a mate, I dined upon a great big bowl or ramen. Mmm... tasty soupy ramen. There's nothing quite like it, and the bonus is you'd don't even need a drink as it hydrates as much as it fills. Winner. The meat didn't blow me away with flavour or quality, but the soup and veg were really flavoursome, and it certainly did the job of filling me up.
The atmosphere here is quite fast food - queue and order quickly, grab a seat and they bring it over within 5 minutes or so. It's perfect for the area, as there were a lot of suits in, bustling for a quick healthy lunch, and looking rather important. (My friend was one of those suits, looking all dashing and smart, where as I felt like a toddler with my converse and mad hair from the mental Bridgewater Place wind tunnel.)
All in all, I shan't be a regular merely due to location, but if you're near by I'd recommend. Brightly coloured, kitschly Japanese, bustling, tasty, and good value. Better than a subway any day. read more
