My West Virginia friend and I decided to have lunch in Beckley, since we needed to be in downtown later that November 2025 day. We decided to have lunch at Wasabi Fusion. It was nice having Asian cuisine in the heart of southern West Virginia. We looked around yelp to see what's appealing for lunch. My friend gave some suggestions and we ultimately ended up here at Wasabi Fusion. We arrived here around 12:30pm after hanging out at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine earlier that day. The restaurant was particular dim lighted and only the daylight from the outside illuminated the inside. There were a few tables occupied while we waited for a table. We ended up getting one almost immediately. Our time spent here was about an hour or so. We got ice water first before deciding on what to eat for lunch. The menu was pretty simple and extensive at the same time. I ended up getting the fried rice because it was simple yet delicious at the same time. Plus, ultimately, they gave enough to satisfy my hunger and appetite. We spent about an hour here from start to finish, enjoying some downtime between being on the road and the evening ahead of us. The staff here was friendly and fast. They gave us ice water first before allowing us to decide what we wanted for lunch. It was a typical thing. The fried rice I had was good and delicious. I also had a side of French fries, which ended up being crispy and awesome. Better than McDonald's and other leading fast food chains. I enjoyed dining in here especially due to the ambiance and atmosphere here. Very quiet and pleasant to just be in here. Definitely worth coming here if you're in the area and want something else than your typical all American fast food fare. Consider coming to this Asian fusion restaurant to explore more options for your favorites in south West Virginia. Who knows? This might be the hidden gem you're looking for! The overall experience here at Wasabi Fusion in Beckley, West Virginia was very nice and welcoming. It was interesting to see Asian restaurants in West Virginia when it's uncommon. I enjoyed the service especially when it's friendly and fast. While that is usually typical anywhere, West Virginia friendly is always welcomed here. The prices here at Wasabi Fusion is competitive and around the same prices as you'd see anywhere. $13 for a Chinese entree and $6 for a sushi roll. Almost the same price strategy for anywhere in a big metro city or a small town. And of course, 4 to 5 dollars for side order of french fries. It is cool that an Asian restaurant is in West Virginia. I felt at home because obviously I grew up Asian and felt akin to the cuisine that they serve here. The restaurant itself is clean and definitely want to visit if you're in the area and not wanting any more of the stereotypical fast food American cuisine. This place serves up wholesome food that can be healthy. I like the service here which is awesome. For the most part though, the experience was typical yet comforting at the same times. It was nice to have some Asian comfort food in southern West Virginia when you don't see it often enough regularly or represented in the region. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and very satisfactory. And so, if you're looking for something better, consider coming down here to Beckley and find this delicious oasis. It's one of the few places in the state that has good Asian cuisine that I've been to so far. They're physically located at 114 New River Drive in Beckley. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there's a good chance you'll find good parking spots here. Best bet would be to come here early enough to secure your preferred parking. If you like me, invite a friend over for lunch if you have friends to live in the area, I don't mind to join you for lunch. There is very limited of a transportation options for anybody and everybody who needs that. But to be sure, best bet will be to have a car or rent one if possible. And then, of course, there is Uber or Lyft or your personal convenience, but ride sharing services do cost a lot of money, especially in rural areas where maybe a handful of drivers are there when you want something on demand at a particular time. And so, if you're in the area and want something different than your typical road trip fare, considered the wasabi fusion Asian fusion restaurant in Beckley, West Virginia. I ordered pineapple fried rice. The dish that came was steamed rice mixed with a smattering of vegetables less than an ounce of chicken. It had no seasoning at all. It wasn't fried as far as I could tell Maybe they have a new chef who doesn't know how to make Thai food. This food was fit for nursing home. It was so bland. First time here at Wasabi..my son and his fiancé eat here a lot but I have never been. They where surprised I hadn't..we'll on to the food! I had the crab rangoons as a started with a sweet and sour sauce as appetizer and it was very good..did need more filling 3.5 starts.. Son got steak with extra noodles..I got steak with noodles and gf got a sushi roll and rangoons. My son ate every bite and his gf as well..I liked the soup and the steak was perfectly cooked. Noodles where very good and not super sweet like some places are. The portions are huge for the price! Will definitely return again..yummy! read more

May have just been because it was a Friday night but I wouldn't be surprised if it's always that busy. Food was good and the portions were big enough for 2 or even 3 people. Some of the better hibachi I've tried crab Rangoon was standard stuff but tasted as it should. The outside sign doesn't appear to scream, "Come inside!", but we are always in search of places we can not find anywhere else on our travels, and the locals sang praises. When I say I enjoyed the food, we thoroughly enjoyed every single item we ordered. The crab rangoon were perfectly crunchy, not burnt, actually flaky even. There could have been a couple more to the appetizer, but then I wouldn't have been able to finish near what I did of the entrée. We also ordered the "Yum Yum Roll" which was something that seemed similar to a roll we had tried before, but this one was by far the best. We could have gotten two of these and made a meal of it alone. My husband went with the tried and true General Tso and I decided to try some Thai Yellow Curry. I was worried about trying Thai at a fusion restauraunt as a lot of places that try too many types of food in my experience tend to fall flat. Not here! I think my husband might have been a little jealous. The portion sizes versus the price were epic. My family of 5 all ordered all we wanted, had plenty to take with us, and it cost less than we expect for any sit-down restaurant. If you enjoy good Asian food, this is not the place. I think it's popular with the locals because Asian restaurants are few in the area. I had the pad Thai with chicken. It was a plate full of mush. Noodles were over cooked, the tofu was not edible and the chicken, which was minimal, tasted odd. My husband had the general tso's chicken, With fried rice. Do not eat here! This must be the best stop locals can find but, I can do without eating a RUBBER BAND in my so called pad Thai! Yes, there was a rubber band cooked into my food. I put a fork sized amount of noodles (which were way over cooked and mushy) and noticed something wasn't right, I spit out my food and there was the rubber band. I immediately called and was told she would remake it... no thanks!! This is a tough one. I would give a 3.5 if I could. I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi and I'm a bit of a sushi snob. Unfortunately, the main dish is where things went sideways for me. I had the steak and scallops with fried rice. The best way I can describe it is bad food court food. Our server was very tentative and promptly removed any finished plates and glass stayed full. 9/10* Such a great value!!! I'm really impressed with Wasabi Fusion. Their prices are really cheap for Japanese food, yet the quality exceeds what you'd expect for that price. I'm not going to sit here and say that it's better than the more expensive option of Fujiyama, but I will say that I find it to be equal to the food quality of Kimono, except half the price. The portion sizes are good and the service is extremely fast. Their hibachi chicken and hibachi salmon are on par with any other Japanese restaurant in my opinion. They also offer a limited Chinese menu, which features my personal favorite, General Tso Chicken.... And theirs is really good. In fact, I'd probably say it's the best Tso in the area. Additionally, they offer Crab Rangoon (cheese wonton w/crab) that might be the best I've had. Every time I've ordered them for the table, they don't last long at all. The sweet and sour sauce that accompanies it is perfect too. Again, not the best Japanese food I've ever had, and probably not the best in Beckley, but it's the best priced by far and worth a shot. Worst case scenario you're out less than $10 if you don't like it. read more

On July 23 me and my dad and daughter are there. We have ate there before and have noticed gnats and flies there before but for some reason they were worse today than other days. We watched a employee go through the restaurant swatting at the gnats and flies with a electric bug zapper. (Literally sounded like a machine gun swatting bugs that's how many he was swatting) And what made it worse was when he went to the kitchen and they seemed to be worse in there seemingly to the sound the zapper was making. Not one time did he come wipe the tables off he was just killing the gnats and flies over. I would hope they at least wiped the kitchen where they was swatting at. We ended up leaving cause of the swatting and flies and gnats flying over our food. Guessing we paid extra for the flying critters as our bill was $54. We tried calling to complain but the worker got smart with us. What a shame we enjoyed eating there but won't be back as customer service wasn't good and didn't enjoy swatting bugs away from our food and listening to bug zapper the whole time there.
