Went back today and WOW. Had the beef pho and Thai tea. No lie, might be the best pho broth I've EVER tasted (this includes hole-in-the-wall joints in LA, and homemade pho at Thai friends' homes). I will say the steak in it was meh, but the brisket, tendons (requested addition), and meatballs were AMAZING. Best meatballs too, not that usual terrible crunchy eraser/flip-flop texture, these were soft and delicious. Only point of improvement/request would be to carry limes instead of lemons, but that's a minor detail. Very delicious big bowl of warm comforting pho. Thai tea was a generous and beautifully presented serving for the price. Also very delicious. Customer service was on point, and they did all the proper covid stuff. Awesome place. Sushi here is great, especially when you look at the price, however, service was horrible. You can't send food back for any reason, even if staff got the order wrong. Also the man who took our order didn't even work here and was just 'helping out his girlfriend', even though she wasn't working at all and there was only us and another table while we ate. The other table had issues as well he forgot an extra soy sauce dish to us and to busy promoting his own business to the other table to ever check on us. Offered no refills until we already had our checks. The restaurant is disgusting as well. read more

Great sushi! I have only been to this place one other time and loved it, but I always forget it about. It's tucked in a small area that's not very noticeable, but I had a craving today for sushi and remembered this place. I'm glad I wasn't disappointed. I have been going to Wasabi for many years with friends & family. I was in there on June 2nd and ordered sushi for two for myself as I like to take home leftovers. I felt like when the waitress brought my food out something was missing. I questioned our waitress, what all comes with sushi for two. She said "I don't know" I said I have ordered this before and something is missing on the trays, not only that, they put my friends California roll on my tray, which was fine. My friend and I started eating and my friend stated "her California roll didn't taste right". So, when the waitress came back to check on us, my friend said "what is this in my sushi"? It was noodles. The waitress said "haven't you ever had a California roll before?" she said "yes we eat here all the time" and it has never looked like that the waitress said "well that is how we make them here". I asked the waitress again, did you check to see what all comes with sushi for two, she said "it's all there" I said no ma'am it's not. I know I am missing at least the 2 pieces of eel and something else. She brought that out and we continued to enjoy our lunch. I thought about what happened for a few days. I called back up there on June 6th and asked to speak to the owner. The lady who answered said "I am the owner". She said "I was the lady that waited on you and you are calling a week later complaining". I said to her very nicely, first of all I am not complaining and the reason for my call is to prevent this from happening again. I only want the food that I ordered and paid for. It isn't my intentions on trying to get free food, because I am not that type of person. I want to be clear so when I order again. I told her I took pictures of my order she asked "can you send them to me" I said I was out of town and prefer to come up there in the next fews days. I was able to go up there on June 7th, to talk to the owner in person. I walked in she said how can I help you, I said are you the owner and "she said the owners daughter". However on the phone she said "she was the owner" I said politely to her, you are the owners daughter, so technically you were not the owner. She looked at her mom and said "can you help her because obviously I can't" she was very rude in talking with me. I explained to her mom and continued to be polite. Her mother of course took up for her and said well technically we are a family owned business so you will talk to her on occasions. I said that was fine but as a business owner myself, I would never speak to anyone the way your daughter spoke to me. She said "well that is you and asked if I was done". I said to her mom see you don't even want to talk or try to apologize. So, my point for my review, kindness goes a long way and I was nothing but nice from day one. Lastly, while waiting to talk to the owner, with it being a family owned business. I am assuming that was their young child behind the counter dipping out his own soup and rice, as small as he was, I said to myself. I sure hope he doesn't burn himself. I'm pretty sure if a food inspector walked in that wouldn't be allowed. Makes you wonder what else goes on behind the counter that you don't see. Atmosphere: The place was dirty, the floor was extremely sticky, there was a mysterious brown liquid on the wall. There is no room. I hit the wall with my elbow trying to eat. It is literally a hallway with tables. The tables were clean and so were the chairs. Food: The food was merely mediocre. I got the veggie tempura roll but it wasn't particularly good. They gave me just enough wasabi for 4 pieces. And there was a creamy unidentifiable sauce in the soy sauce. My meat eating friend got pork dumplings and said the texture was off and it was bland. Their food was the best part. But nothing compared to the other sushi places in concord. Service: Was pretty much not great. We had to get up and get our own box for leftovers. They clearly favored a large group that made a reservation. They put lemon in your drink without asking. read more

Have to update my review based on recent services. We dined in for the first time and waitress was very rude and not attentive. Sushi rolls did not taste fresh (ours are vegan) We decided to do take out the next week, which is what we usually do and each time we've ordered, the portion of tofu and veggies we get with the red curry keeps getting less and less. I mean, it only comes with green peas, peppers, and bamboo shoots. And get like 3 of each, no exaggeration and maybe 7 pieces of tofu. We won't be eating there for a while as it's 20 minutes away (so 40 minute drive time) and we only kept going there because the quality and quantity were good. But not anymore. I hope next time we order.. maybe in the winter, it will be better or this will drop to a 2 star. read more

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. This has to be the worst sushi experience I've ever had. To start, me and my girlfriend walk in to the tiny restaurant only having 3 other tables full. We sit down and wait for about 20 minutes until the server finally comes around pushing everyone's food on a cart. She takes our drink order (2 waters) and food order (the rainbow roll, Philadelphia roll, and California roll). We wait another 30 minutes for her to bring our drinks and yet again she's pushing everything on a cart as if she has to wait until her cart is full to serve any of the tables. As she goes to hand me my water she says "oh there is something in this one let me get you another one". It then takes another 20 minutes for her to bring my new water. At this point we have been there for over an hour and have started to notice that other tables that had come in 20 minutes after us have started to get their sushi and ours is still nowhere to be seen. I politely go up to the front counter to ask if ours is coming up and if it is if we can just get it to-go. She says it is coming right up so I go ahead and pay for it thinking it's almost ready. We then wait for 15 more minutes all while the waitress makes another run with her cart full of sushi taking sushi to all of the remaining tables that had gotten there after we had. I go back up to the counter when she gets back to ask how everyone else had gotten their food before us except she completely ignored me and took a man's order that was behind me at the counter. Finally she gives us our food and when we get home the sushi was absolutely terrible. It just fell apart when you picked it up and the tuna wasn't even the right color that tuna is supposed to be. And it looked dirty so we should have left as soon as we walked in. The sushi was sub par. This small restaurant reminds me of something you'd find in a very urban area, small and gritty and of moderate cleanliness. They serve sushi, pad Thai and some other Asian style dishes. Jack of all trades but master of none! I had the sushi, which looked decent but was bland, the rice poorly season and the consistency was off-- unacceptable for good sushi. Came in here late on Dec 23rd and were pleased to find they were still open and willing to serve us dinner after a long day of traveling for me. Situated in a strip mall we knew we were rolling the dice trying to eat after 9 pm but it turned out great. The service was prompt, and polite (even asking if we minded what they had on the tv). They have the Asian beers you crave when you are out to this type of food on their list and some interesting sakes. We ordered food from the Thai part of the menu. I had a pleasing tofu green curry that was mildly spicy and had the addition of green peas unlike a lot I have had before but really enjoyed. My boyfriend had the drunken noodles which he loved. Both came with choice of soup or salad, I think my salad choice was the better bet because the dressing they use is great and very gingery like my favorites from college in DC. Been passing by the restaurant since summer last year and it doesn't seem busy. Saw bad reviews on Yelp and Google so I didn't try it. Today I decided to give it a try. Stopped by here late at night since we were in the mood for some sushi. (Thank god they close at 10!!!) It's located in this strip, kinda easy to miss because the place is so so tiny! Inside looks kinda "old", and small, paint chipping, out of date decor but it gives it that local vibe which I like. We were seated immediately, service was really friendly! We could smell the aroma of the food cooking while we waited for our order, it smelled SOO good. We ordered the shrimp tempura, chicken pad Thai, vegetable tempura roll, baked salmon, volcano, miyako, and tiger roll. OHMYGOD this place is a hidden gem I swear!! One of the best sushi I had, and all for a great price too- literally a win win. My favorite has got to be the baked salmon & veggie tempura roll! The sushi rice was perfection, I feel like the rice normally is what makes or breaks the sushi. Really don't know why people don't rave about this place more! We love to eat here when we're in Cary. The deep fried bagel roll and the pad Thai with chicken are our favorites.

GREAT sushi! That is, if you can get them on the phone to call your order in. Every single time I call, the line is "busy". And their customer service is absolutely HORRENDOUS! There was a bland taste, the texture of the shredded papaya felt over crushed/mixed to the point where it's not crunchy in every bite no more. Whoever made the salad sucked so bad. It needed more fish sauce, sugar, shrimp paste, crab paste, tamarind, garlic, and lime! I could make better papaya salad from home. Never ordering here again.
