Hibachi chicken with white rice and a spring roll.
Rusty J.

This place is more of a Japanese takeaway than a nice sit down restaurant. They have about a dozen tables in the dining area if you choose to eat there. We chose to dine in. The dining area may be a little small but it's clean. The kitchen area is in open sight. It appears clean. They have a 99.0 sanitation grade posted! The employees were very friendly. An employee delivered our food to our table. I had the wrong rice on my plate but she took it back and swapped it out quickly and was nice about it. Our food was was good. The spring roll was really good. The shrimp sauce that came with the meal was good. I want to return and try something besides chicken. They have a vast menu above the counter.

We've been coming here for over 10 years and the food is delicious! We've had the hibachi steak and rice, chicken, and shrimp. My kids love the egg rolls. They have always accommodated for our family and our picky eaters with switching the veggies if needed. I do hear the owners have switched to their kids/friends but the food is just as great! I have to say the only thing we miss is the old recipe for the shrimp sauce! (And the older gentlemen reading newspaper at the table. Haha) My mama used to buy it by the jar when he opened and it is something I'll never forget. If you are in the town want a quick stop for Japanese stop here! You won't regret it.

Hibachi Chicken portion size was small especially since I added broccoli. The shrimp sauce was average.

Say no more. Hibachi pit is the perfect lunch spot for when you want to grab a quick bite with huge portions. You can customize your meal making it as healthy or unhealthy as you want it to be. I ordered the rice bowl with crispy chicken and the sweet and spicy sauce. The sauces all come on the side in a small cup, but you can ask for more. There was so much chicken in my bowl, and plenty of rice and veggies to go along with it. The chicken was on par with most fast casual places. I did need to use lots of sauce though to get more flavor out of the bowl. It's nothing that will blow your mind, but it's a good staple to have in your lunch rotation! The price is really fair too, you get what you pay for.

Since we are big fans of…read moretheir affiliate, The Smoke Pit, we had high hopes for the food quality--and they did not disappoint! Our party of 8 had a bit of a bumpy start. We were crowded around the entrance for a while without much direction until I checked in; they have a policy of not seating until the entire party arrives (6 of us were there, awaiting 2). Once the full group was present, though, we were seated promptly. Our server was excellent--very polite and on top of things. Even when two of our orders came out wrong, the server corrected the mistakes so quickly it didn't disrupt the meal at all. The food quality is definitely where this place shines: * Portion Sizes: Massive. As you can see from the photos, the trays are packed to the edges with rice, noodles, and protein. * Quality: The steak was tender and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. You can tell they care about the quality of their meat. * Affiliation: Knowing they are connected to The Smoke Pit gave us high expectations for the proteins, and they lived up to the name. While it might not be the absolute best hibachi I've ever had, the combination of great service, huge portions, and solid food quality makes it an easy recommendation. It's a great spot for a group--just make sure your whole party arrives at the same time!

We place large orders every time we go, always tipping well, as the wait staff were fantastic. Tonight I called and ordered like I always do, and my sister went and picked it up. I noticed the bags and containers were different, portions were much smaller, and most upsetting, the Pink Lady roll I always get had spicy tuna mash in the middle instead of the normal whole salmon (which has always been my absolute favorite). I tasted it, realized what it was, and was disgusted. To me, spicy tuna is inedible, so I took it back to be remade, thinking that it was a simple mistake. Upon arriving, there is a new girl at the counter, and I inform her my roll was made incorrectly. She looked at it and said, "No, that's a Pink Lady." Since I had never seen her before, I assumed she was new and didn't know what she was talking about, so I told her I've been coming here for over 10 years, this isn't a Pink Lady. She then informs me that the menu has changed due to a change in ownership from the old owners to their son. So I glance at the new menu and I'm like oooookkk, so the Pink Lady is different now. Can I have the rolls remade the way I would like them please? She walks back to talk to who, I assume, is the owner, and she comes back saying that they will remake them the old way. So I'm like ok, thank you, just for my clarification, when I call in the future, how do I order to get my favorite roll, as I do not like spicy tuna. She goes back to talk to who I assume is the owner, taking a long time, before returning and saying, "This is how the menu is now, there is no way to make the modifications you want as we do not want to confuse the new sushi chef, he has only been trained on the new menu and there is simply no way to make any modifications." It was in that moment I knew I wouldn't be returning to my favorite restaurant. The interaction was very rude and dismissive and I was not informed of the change of ownership or menu changes when I called to place the order either. I don't know if it's lesser quality ingredients, inexperienced staff, cutting corners, or just the general way customers are treated during this change, but me and many more people I know will not be returning, and I've seen other people reviewing similar unsatisfied experiences. I miss it the way it was, and it's crushing to know it will never be the same. If I were the old owners who had built this into the thriving family business it has always been, I would be disappointed at the current reviews.

The noodles in the short rib bowl were mushy, clumped together, and completely overcooked. On top of that, the ratio was way off -- barely any noodles, and the little bit that was in the bowl was stuck together in a soggy block. The hibachi meals were even worse. What they served as "steak hibachi" was basically Salisbury steak swimming in gravy. Hibachi should never be drenched in sauce like that, and it absolutely should not resemble reheated cafeteria food. It was unappetizing and honestly pretty disgusting. Both hibachi dishes were a total waste of money. We tried calling the restaurant as soon as we opened the food at home, but no one answered the phone. For a takeout order at this price point, the quality and care should be much higher. This experience was frustrating and deeply disappointing. I would not recommend ordering from here.

It can be kind of hard to choose from all the different dishes but there's something for everyone. I got the special which was ginger glazed salmon, and let me tell you! It was some of the best salmon I've ever had. It was perfectly crisp yet not over cooked, it still had that moist tender texture you get from decently cooked fish. The wok blistered green beans and snap peas were a perfect compliment. My wife got the hibachi steak which had great umami and was nicely tender. We also got a spicy tuna roll and the edamame which both really hit the spot. We shall be back.
