Highly recommend checking this place out! My fiancé and I came here on a Saturday night. We had tickets for Longwood Gardens at night so we decided to visit Wasabi 3 for dinner before hand. I ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner and my fiancé ordered a few sushi rolls. We both loved our meals. It was nice since it was a BYOB as well. We visited here last year too, and at the end, they gave us a new year calendar, which was awesome and unique! Unfortunately, there was no calendar this year though. Overall, I definitely recommend checking them out!

BUYER BEWARE!! DO NOT USE THE ONLINE GRUBHUB ORDERING IF YOU ARE PICKING UP!!! GRUBHUB added a 27% total surcharge to our total between their base fee + % on each item. Wasabi - you need to either ditch that setup or negotiate your online pricing or you're going so lose customers over this shadiness. Wasabi 3 has been our go to for several years now and has been a staple for us during COVID times when in-person dining was shut down. However, this recent bill and several previous orders I've made recently w/ the same over-billing are leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Perhaps time to find a new best place...

Went here with my boyfriend before Longwood Gardens on a Saturday night. It is also BYOB which is awesome. The place was pretty busy, but we were able to get sat right away. Our waitress was very sweet. I got miso soup and salmon hibachi. The miso soup was not good; the salmon hibachi was pretty good- not my absolute favorite, but decent. My boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki, which I tried and was very tasty. If I visit again, I'd definitely get the chicken teriyaki instead of the salmon dish. Overall, the ambiance and friendly staff would make me visit again.

Stopped in for dinner, based on reviews. Greeted, seated and water brought to table. Started with a bowl of Miso, served hot and tasty. Ordered 'Perfect Match', a delicious pairing of Shrimp and Scallops, cooked just right, with a delightful blend of fresh and crisp veggies. It was just the right amount of 'spicy, with a side of brown rice. The sliced orange and fortune cookie was a noce finishing touch. Will return for Sushi & Sashimi, as it all looked so good.

Delicious! Not only is the service fast, the food is fresh. The food is also very instagrammable, if that's your thing.

Best sushi in the area. I have tried many places in the area...this place is THE BEST! Freshest fish around. The take out amazing! I will drive the extra couple miles for this! Appetizers are great as well! Friendly and accommodating staff.

After a long day at Longwood Gardens we wanted to stop and grab a quick bite for dinner before our 3 hr trek home. We were happy to find Wasabi 3 it was clean, bright and the staff was very attentive. We were seated immediately and the food came out quickly. I got soup and sushi... both were excellent and my friend got a shrimp mango dish. She said it was great as well. They also had fortune cookies that were 3 flavors in one! Super yummy. Will definitely come back if I make another trek up this way.

It's a bit of a conundrum to find the entrance; it's on the back side, up a flight of stairs. The dining room brims with families, couples, groups of friends, seniors--all walks of life. One table away from me, sat a father and young son heartily munching on their dinners. I decided to ask them about the menu. The father told me that they come here once a month because his son is a picky eater, but loves GuGu's cooking, so consumes everything on his plate; and the dad thinks the place is the bomb. Started with the gyoza appetizer and enjoyed it very much. My seaweed salad was fresh and generous although the dressing was not to my liking, however able to change it up with some soy sauce and wasabi. A red curry duck main that I went with was luscious, meaty and satisfying. All dishes were nicely presented. Service is professional. I appreciate the linen-like, deposable napkins that are a part of the place setting--nicely absorbent. I agree with others that it takes time for food to arrive, but worth the wait.

Each bento comes with rice, edamame, two steamed dumplings, miso soup, and a California roll. You can upgrade the roll for $2 so we got the shrimp tempura roll. They thoughtfully packed the sauce separately so that our shrimp and beef would not get soggy. The sauce for the yuzu shrimp was delicious. I really enjoyed the twist on the typical walnut shrimp dish. I liked the fried shrimp in the bang bang dish best. My only gripe about that dish was that there was not enough sauce. The shrimp in the Thai basil dish was small and I would not get that again. The miso soup was on the salty side for us but it is a generous portion. The shrimp tempura roll was good and comes with 5 larger pieces. Overall, I enjoyed the food here and think that they do a really nice job with take-out. Would come back here again when I'm in the area.

The first time I went there was in 2009 on the recommendation of a friend who used to have a Japanese restaurant. With job changes, going back to school, and plunging headfirst into a turbulent new career with multiple job changes, I never got back there until 2022. And guess what? They remembered me! The staff is genuinely friendly. They remember what I like, and a few times I've described dishes that weren't on the menu--and they made them perfectly. They actually listen, and that level of care is rare. The wine and beer selection fits my tastes really well, which is a nice bonus. Every time I visit, the atmosphere is happy and relaxed. I often see other customers come in and get greeted like old friends, and it's clear this place means something to a lot of people. It's not just a meal--it's a place that lifts your mood. Okura has become one of my favorite spots. Friendly people, great food, and a warm, welcoming vibe every time.

The food gives you that fine dining experience without the pretentiousness. The staff is warm and friendly -- shout out to Chet for his amazing service. They were also very accommodating to our son who was in between napping when we began dining, setting up a high chair for us in a way that would allow him to continue sleeping in his car seat. We started the meal off with some seared scallops that were perfectly arranged. Next, my wife had some seared tuna while I ordered the Colorado bison -- both items off of the special seasonal menu. The dishes were incredibly flavorful and the veggies that surrounded the meat added a nice complement. I also really enjoyed my California cab, as did my wife with her house Manhattan. We will definitely be back next time we are in Delaware, and highly recommend to anyone visiting the Hockessin area!

The fresh fish entree was delicious. The cheesecake dessert was a thing of beauty. I would probably try again, but it's a half an hour away. (We passed way too many other restaurants to try)

The manager had reached out to me on OpenTable and offered to send me a gift certificate to encourage me to come back, so we did that last night and our experience was AMAZING and truly one of the best meals we've ever had even with some of the sides, not being our favorite. We happened to have an entire area of the restaurant to ourselves and our waiter was attentive, gave great recommendations and was friendly. I had a piña colada sangria and a glass of sweet riesling, both of which were excellent. My boyfriend had two old fashions which he also really enjoyed. Once again, we were blown away by the appetizers. The crab dip is probably one of the best things you can get here. The grilled Caesar had excellent flavor and the shrimp were a good size. They were offering a special Wagyu steak that evening, which I decided to get and my boyfriend had the 12 ounce New York strip. This was my first time having Wagyu and it was cooked perfectly, medium rare to my liking and just melted in my mouth. We also ordered sides of plump crab meat so that we could top our steak with it, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and shredded brussels sprouts with bruschetta. While the mac & cheese and shredded Brussels left more to be desired, it didn't lessen our dining experience in the least. We ended dinner by sharing a delicious crème brûlée served with a biscotti (not picture because we ate it too fast!) If it hadn't been for the manager Michael teaching out to let me know he heard my feedback and offering a gift certificate to dine with them again, we probably wouldn't have come back, given this is about a 45 minute drive from the city. But I can honestly say that this experience completely changed our view of the restaurant and we will definitely be returning for future celebrations.

We sat for dinner tonight and had Craig as our server. It was not crazy busy on a Tuesday night. We always love the quality of food. My husband had the filet mignon and I had the seafood ravioli. Both were amazing. We spilt the chopped salad and could not believe they charged $1.00 for splitting the $14 salad between the two of us. Really? After a $70 steak, you charge a splitting fee? The principle does not sit well with us. The service, unfortunately, was not what I expect. He did get tables all at once, which I understand, but we felt like our table of 'only' two was a burden. I really do not like leaving a restaurant feeling like that. All in all, the food is always amazing from a taste perspective. The bar experience for a couple cocktails is also always great. They really need to work on the service aspect in the restaurant. Customers should never feel like a burden. We do love the ambiance in general and the quality of food has not disappointed.

The salads were very good though, I really liked the strawberry feta one. My mom and I both ordered the 6oz filet medium and while mine was medium hers was very overcooked into medium well/well done. She also had made her order a surf and turf but her lobster was so insanely small and extremely overcooked and tough for $38. The sides that came with each entree weren't anything special either. Very soggy veggies, and the potatoes weren't that good. The bordelaise and bernaise sauces with our steaks were very good though. Aside from the food the service was alright. It just felt like they weren't paying that much attention and that we were always waiting for them to come back to the table for a while. Which I understand they were probably busy, but the restaurant was actually not that full, there were maybe three other occupied tables in the room we were in and they seemed to be taken care of by other wait staff. Also, when they brought our appetizers they brought plates for each of us and it looked like they were dirty so she would grab the top one and shake off whatever was on it on the table before putting it in front of us. It was only when she saw our concerned faces that she explained that it was pepper or something from the appetizer she was holding, but that didn't really make sense for it to be on every plate. Overall I wouldn't come back, I just liked the fried lobster Mac and cheese appetizer, strawberry feta salad, and bourbon toffee cake dessert. The ambiance was also nice I'd say. It was peaceful, elegant, and spacious. It was an alright experience but just extremely overpriced for what we got in my opinion. If it was less expensive I'd maybe give it 3 stars but you can't have such high prices if you don't live up to the expectations that those prices set.
