It's been a year and we're regulars now, so I guess it's only right to update. Staff is all great and personable. The sushi is *consistent* and delicious. Over the last year, we've seen them make updates to the interior and menu, including adding some great sake options. I love love the sushi specials but wish they switched them up monthly again. We've tried enough of the menu that we don't stray from our favorites, so we love seeing when there's something new. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great for groups, there's a private dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tend to avoid peak times, though, because they get busy with online orders and customers on hot dining nights! The lunch bento box is also an awesome deal and they do a great job with the tempura. I really could go on, we really enjoy our meals here. This is a nicely decorated place with tables where you can sit basically on the floor Japanese style. The garden salad has this great ginger dressing. I got the eel cucumber roll which was great. However the other roll my mom got did was not so good. It was a cooked roll and it seemed similar to canned tuna. I'm sure this is not the restaurants fault since I've been here many times and everything else I had was good. I would not recommend getting a cooked roll that is meant to be eaten raw. Service was good. This is one of my go to places to get sushi in the area. read more

I've been craving sushi for some time. You know that feeling of finally getting what you want and it not measuring up? Well you won't get that feeling from Sake Hana!! Wow what a delightful meal! My boyfriend got beef fried rice & a pork spring roll. I got the sushi and calamari. I'm the sushi fan; he is not. I got a variety of rolls for him to try, but sadly, he said it wasn't for him. That only meant one thing: more for me. I did try some of his fried rice... holy Moses I think that's the best fried rice I've ever had. It's got this grilled/smoky flavor to it and it's just so good!! The sushi was so so so good; better than I expected. We have enough left over to enjoy again. The Black Horse roll was superb. Was pleasantly surprised how good the food was, the cheesesteak spring rolls were a delicious start to our meal. First time here and enjoyed our meal! They are open for dine in but the sign does say they would like you to make reservations. Though we had no issue walking in. My husband and I were sat right away and our server came quick. The food was yummy and had great presentation. My roll was really tasty along with the shrimp shumai. I'm a pescatarian so hubby had the cheesesteak spring rolls and enjoyed them. Only issue was hubby's chicken teriyaki coming out with veggies although he requested none. I got 15 pieces sashimi and a sushi roll as pick up. It was alright. I frankly had much better rice out of a bag that you microwave at home. All five type of fish of the sashimi weren't cut all the way, so I had 3 pieces stuck together that were hard to eat with a knife. The one fish just looked shredded. The sushi roll was hard to eat as every piece fell apart and ended up finishing up with a spoon. Not terrible, but not enjoyable either. read more

Cute little place out in the burbs. Wasn't really expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. We ordered takeout, no comment on the interior vibes. We started with a couple veggie rolls - a basic cucumber and avocado (meh) and the paradise green roll (also meh). The veggie rolls were pretty bland by themselves, but we also got the Roti Canai and the curry sauce added much needed flavor. The Roti was divine, I wish we had gotten more. The star of the show was actually the beef negimaki! It looked like a little beefy sushi roll, well seasoned meat wrapped around scallions. The beef was high quality and tender. Sake Hana is hands down the BEST sushi place I have ever been to. It was recommended to me by a friend, and ever since it was my go-to place for sushi. Recently I moved to another state, and everytime I find myself in Avondale I make an effort to order food at Sake Hana. It is fresh EVERY single time, all the rolls are so good that you could literally pick one with your eyes closed and know that it will taste great. Me and my husband always order the golden bags (the most amazingly crunchy and flavorful cheese wontons your taste buds will ever meet) and get a couple rolls. Outstanding. Every. Time.
