Seven in the morning. Another wonderful Uber experience in Augusta, Georgia. I don't know if I got…read morelucky... but all of the drivers were so polite and sweet. Very clean town cars! Great music. I could have walked from the hotel to the Boathouse Community Center but it was freezing cold for this Puerto Rican. Even with the three layers of shirts, the cap and the Dick Tracy Jacket. The regatta was held here. My Finicky Eater competing. A pain in the backside of the crew team mothers who lovingly prepare pasta salad for the rowers. There I was. Huge black sunglasses, dragging my fancy purse loaded with protein bars, protein shakes, protein gummy treats (thank God for the person who invented these "unnatural" candies.) The Uber dropped us a little outside the center, but what a pretty walk it was...What a beautiful property! Clean and green and luscious. I sat there breathless. Lost in so much blue and green... The perfect venue for the races... and for a wedding! Imagine that! Getting married in the Amphitheater and then enjoying the reception in this wooden wonder overlooking the Savannah River and the tall trees and the sun shining over the surface... so much light! I guess some mothers complain that their son or daughter should have chosen another sport. Basketball... a couple of hours seating on benches inside a court. I think them crazy. He rowed. I spent my weekend inside a jigsaw puzzle.

We're from out of town and I was looking for an door place for my kids to hang out to burn some…read moreenergy. There are signs posted in a few places to give you some directions to the park. When you first enter, the community center and library are immediately on the right. There are tennis and basketball courts on the lefts. About 1/4 of a mile in, there are two separate playgrounds next to softball/baseball fields. My kids had a great time running around and playing on the various pieces of equipment. We'll definitely remember this park if we're in the area again!

I basically grew up at this community center!!! I was here for all kinds of things like summer…read morecamp, private parties, holding signage for political campaigns, and all kinds of other things. I can remember spending my youth in the gym, at the track, or just running around the area. This park is usually bustling with people and different activities. They added a pool in recent years so they are things going on there as well. There is also a senior center located here too. My grandmother would spend her days creating great ceramic artwork while she was here. I love that this place has something for the whole family to enjoy. The track is pretty large and normally filled with people getting in shape or trying to stay in shape. There is a basketball court here as well. I would spend my days sometimes watching others play and cheering them on!!! I haven't been here in years but I'm sure this place is still a great place for the whole family!!!!

This square stands out from some dated-looking parts of Augusta's downtown as being nicely…read moredecorated and well manicured. There are sometimes events and food trucks and such here, but often it is just a park with some benches to sit at. It is not especially distinctive, but it is a worthwhile landmark.

This open grass space is between Broad and Reynolds Streets and between 8th and 9th Streets. It is…read moreusually a festival or entertainment area but today it's just grass and is a lovely park. The park is filled with interesting sculpture pieces and is of course headed up by the James Brown Statue. The acre of property has a putting green quality grass area and is circled by a smooth brick walkway. When there are goings on, there is electrical and water available. We went and explored the new location today. The exterior of building/ plaza is very lack luster…read more The interior is new and very clean. We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. They are running a fall break special for unlimited play for only $20 a person, most attractions were included (splatter room and human claw game were extra). For $20 it was steal of a deal, unfortunately they normally charge per hour for most activities. For me I know there is no way my kids will stay at one activity for an hour. I think they need to come up with more package options, maybe 3 activities for $25, 4 activities $33 or unlimited activities for $40. They do have small snack bar with drinks, beer, ice cream, popcorn, candy and other items. They have a retail area with shirts, key chains, sensory toys, hats and more. The splatter rooms are much larger at this new location. They do also have a couple of party room options. The staff was absolutely wonderful! I would definitely go back if they start regularly offering packages, otherwise it could easily become quite expensive with 3 children.
