First of all, you don't just drive up to the place. There is a security guard at the entrance of the neighborhood. They make sure you are supposed to be there and then give you a temporary pass for where you should be headed. That said, once you're in you can drive around and check out the beautiful homes. But you will want to hurry and make your way to the Country Club. As you pull up, you will immediately think of antebellum homes in the deep south. The colossal columns, the broad entrance way, the detail to botancials around the building. It is the foreshadowing of what awaits inside. The carpet, the lighting, the crown molding on the interior might have you questioning how much the meal is going to be. Every team member is quick to ask if you need help with anything and have a historic knowledge of the Club and the course. My meal of salad with lightly fried chicken tenders, boiled asparagus, and housemade churros and ice cream made me wish I could order an entire second round. But I didn't want to be greedy (again, it was a meeting setting). I will be looking for an excuse to visit again soon. You should do the same.

Augusta Riverwalk in Georgia is a wonderful place to unwind and relax at. While my family was in…read moretown bike riding the Greenway in South Carolina we decided to cross state lines and ride in Georgia a little bit. That's when we stumbled upon the Riverwalk. It's a fully brick walkway along the Savannah. My family enjoyed our time here while we took a break from bike riding. Along the path there are numerous picnic tables that offer spectacular views of the river, but the path does not offer a lot of shade. However there is an amphitheater that has a canopy with a couple of benches, if you are looking to get out of the sun. Although my family had a good time at the Riverwalk there is some maintenance that needs to be done. The trellises that are in front of the amphitheater were withered; there was noticeable deterioration of the wood and visible rotting of the wood. Even though the riverwalk path needs some maintenance, I had a wonderful time enjoying nature and relaxing near the Savannah River. I would definitely recommend going to the Riverwalk in Augusta Georgia, if you want to get some fresh air while enjoying the scenery and the sounds of nature.

I assume it's about 3 miles as you can walk at the top level or the bottom level. What was really nice was that along the journey was the water where you you saw the different level measures of flooding in the area that occurred like in 1908, 1928, 1990 and other eras. There were beautifully crafted artwork either bought or on loan to the city of Augusta. Also there were a lot of historical plaques of which one was a paper mill in the area at one time but I'm not sure of the actual location. There was a photo of Moody 1946 which was interesting. I was really sad to see so many fallen beautiful trees which showed how the ecosystem is changing and impacting Mother Earth. I would definitely be going back to this place again.

We are still new to the area and this is our first year being here for the Jack o Lantern Jubilee…read more They shut down the main street in downtown North Augusta and have lots of food trucks, craft vendors, a Ferris wheel, live music and entertainment, and lots of bouncy houses/slides for kids. We had a good time walking around and looking at stuff. We didn't end up getting any food because we weren't so hungry but the food did look good! My main complaint is I wish they'd had more seating available, tables and chairs would be nice and more benches or something. I don't think I personally am as into these types events as many people are because things just seem overpriced and with a toddler who can't sit still but also can't play on big kid toys yet, our options were limited anyway. But the event seems well organized and like a fun way to get out and see some downtown shops we hadn't seen before! I suspect we will go next year too.

Talk about a downtown building being multi-functional and in a prime location. Just to the left of…read morethe Book Tavern, you will find this place. Just standing outside, you realize it has an amazing covered patio area in the front. But looking in through the glass, you see a carpeted area that seats 200+, a stage, and a full sound/light system. There is a foyer on the other side of this large space, inside, that can be entered via the JB White's building. It has a single restroom for use and a open space for any ideas one may have. This building proves its versatility on a regular basis. It hosts a local church on Sunday's and occasional during the week, it was the home base for Mahogany Lounge for a number of years, it served as the Troubadour Stage for Arts in the Heart (the only indoor stage I might add), and it is used for trainings, birthday parties, and wedding receptions. With parking provided via the Broad Street medians, there is plenty to choose from. And if you are having an event during the hours New Moon Cafe is open, it is right next door for your convenience. I have been told there are some spaces upstairs that are available for workspace, something to keep in mind as well. Overall, the nostalgia of this historical building has been preserved. The brick walls remain exposed and down the hallway you can even see a old barn door. It is what you would imagine in a downtown building, but with relevant function. *Insider's Tip -Twice a year the Handmade Fair takes place here. It begins outfront on the patio, goes through the large space, into the foyer, and actually curves around into the JB White's building beside the Book Tavern. Admission is free so come try to "window shop", though I am sure you will leave with something in your hand.

I recently visited The Doris Bldg for a book event. I've walked by it on several occasions, but…read moremost of the time the space wasn't being occupied. This is a multi-use building for events. I believe that a local church has exclusively rented it for their worship services on Sundays. It is very spacious and can be setup for any type of event. They have audio visual setup so that you can have video, microphones, presentations or a concert. There is also an outdoor space with ceiling fans that could be excellent on a Summer evening. It can also be setup with chairs, tables etc. The event I attended used all of the space expect outdoors because it was hot, but this is a space that is under the radar and may be used more in the future.

Also have your ticket ready so you can get in fast, I would advise to take a screenshot of your ticket just in case it doesn't load while there.
