One can walk a substantial distance in either direction and be treated to canal views and river views. Notably, a waterfall and pond running off of the canal are near here. It's a pretty area, and while he parking lot will be crowded on a nice day I've never had any trouble getting a space and once you get out on the trail it's usually quite pleasant.

This particular bit of park is not on the waterfront and is not that aesthetically distinctive, but it is connected with the greenway trail that goes to several useful places, as well as being next to a sporting venue. They have few rest rooms that are well kept and managed with even a medical emergency supply room incase of any incidents. The grounds are kept very clean too and lots of public parking available. Several ellipticals; lots of bikes, one stairmaster, and some rowers in basement. They got some new weight machines and a small selection of dumbbells that go up to 50 lb. So no lunks here. The indoor track is big plus too, but the Greeneway is right there so why not just run outside? Also several basketball courts, racquetball, and activity rooms. Even craft room. But just $50/year. Can't beat that :)

The boat ramp can get pretty busy on the weekends but there is a nice loop you can do that let's put into the river and then back. There is a rope swing at one point of you don't mind getting in the murky water. It is a peaceful kayak route.

It's pleasant enough, but the modest distance is irritating, particularly in light of the longer greenway trail just north of here on the same creek. Since it is a small park, it can be a little busy when the weather is really nice. The trail around the park is perfect to use for 5k training. Drop on in when you need a brief commune with nature!

It is usually well-attended and I have not had any safety concerns; it certainly feels better than comparable areas on the other side of the river. There are plenty of bikers, but the trail is generally wide enough not to present any major issues of overcrowding. It's definitely a good way to get a taste of the environment without driving too far from the city.

It has plenty of parking and they can accommodate small and large vehicles. They have a large fenced in dog park and a gazebo for the pet owners to get out of the sun. Around the park is 3 paths for those that wish to walk ir run. There was also a male and female bathroom as well. Oyeah, and did I forget to mention that they have a playground for the kids!!! We got chocolate wasted. Salted caramel pretzels, espresso beans, cookies, cakes, fudge, and more! I had to take some treats home. This is a hidden gem and it only costed $5. They also provide a bottle of water to wash it all down. It was a sold out event. I think capacity is around 200. Get there early for the best parking and a good spot in line!
