While we were long-time members, a recent failure by management to handle a situation professionally forced us to withdraw before the year was up. I am sharing our experience to help other parents make an informed decision. Following a peer rumor that inadvertently involved the business, my minor daughter proactively requested a meeting with the owners to clarify the situation. Given our long history, she expected a safe, moderated environment. Instead, we found the meeting to be hostile. In our experience, the co-owner spoke to my daughter in an aggressively loud and elevated tone before she could finish speaking. The situation felt so unsafe and unprovoked that I felt compelled to physically remove my child from the room, as the owner could not de-escalate the interaction. When my husband subsequently met with the owners to address this behavior, we felt there was a complete lack of accountability or apology. Furthermore, during this discussion, the owners shared details regarding another child's past behavioral history by name. This lack of discretion left us with no confidence that student privacy is respected behind closed doors. Worse, we learned that instead of mitigating the peer conflict, leadership allegedly instructed other teens in the program to focus their grievances toward our daughter and another student. While we understand that business owners cannot prevent outside rumors, the way this peer conflict was handled felt entirely inappropriate for educators responsible for minors. While families may have a fine experience when things run smoothly, our situation completely changed how we view this leadership. In our opinion, Ft. Steam handles conflict poorly and does not maintain the level of professionalism or student privacy we expect from an educational environment. Since sharing our experience, there have reportedly been threats of legal action toward individuals and groups connected to discussions about Ft. Steam and their handling of similar interactions.

Once the owner received the full payment (which was required prior to the party) all communication stopped. Prior to payment, the owner said she would be happy to work with the people at our venue to coordinate, but after the money was received she did not return any of their emails or mine. On the day of the party, I had no idea if the princess would show up. She did...late, but it was clear that the princess had no idea what she was supposed to do or what party package I had purchased (clearly, the owner had not even discussed it with her). All of the activities she was supposed to do (makeup, games, etc.) were actually done by the venue employees. The princess just followed along. The princess was supposed to bring a special hardback book that I paid $15 extra for and a "beautiful scroll" (which the owner had made a point to mention when selling me in her email) from which a proclamation about my daughter's birthday would be read; none of these things were brought. I made a dispute on PayPal for about 1/2 of what I paid, since I only received the services from a cheaper package. After the dispute was made, literally within 5 minutes and having not heard from her since she received payment, she started threatening me with a lawsuit...seriously, I'm not kidding. I recommend using any other princess company. They will certainly be more professional, customer oriented, honest and emotionally stable. Oh, and yes, my credit card did refund me the disputed amount.

They cater to the young ladies and made them feel so pretty and special. They do pedicures, manicures and a little make up for them. I will definitely be returning to have a party for my little girl. I was very happy with the care. When my son turned 4 yrs he was in pre k school at the center. my husband was dropping my son around 730 am before school and I was picking up after care around 4pm. one day my son was telling me that they didn't feed him that he was hungry. Next day I asked the teacher the teacher said that my son came in to her classroom around 2 pm. I told her no that is not true my son was drop off at 7:30am. What happened was they forgot my son in the last room of the school down the hall. where the before school classroom was dropped off. My son was sleeping in the big pillow cushion behind the door when my son woke up no body was there. My son staying in the room waiting for someone come and get him. when I heard what really happened I should sue the day care because that was negligent. I didn't do it the school fired the teacher who was in charge of the before school care and they gave me a 2 weeks free of charge. Still until today regret not sue them. Still bothered me thinking how my son was feeling and when he said he was hungry they didn't feed him.

I immediately fell in love with the Spanish moss hanging from the trees and definitely wanted to capture that "southern" look. Also, there are places off the beaten path near little waterfalls and rushing water for more picture opportunities. Since then, I've returned with my family and friends for a relaxing stroll in nature. I enjoy the paths, especially for my young daughter. They have so much to offer: kayak rentals, bicycle rentals, a cooling off area for both humans and pets, bike repair station, a playground, etc. I appreciate that they have clean restrooms available as well as trash cans, and doggy doo receptacles. There's a lot to explore and a lot of history, I highly recommend it!
