I purchased two recliners although the look ok I wanted to buy the dinette bench seat cousins to match I have called 3 times left my RV travel trailer info twice went into the store just to be told the could not reach anyone on the OEM parts side and there is no public access to that area. We bought a2025 last Tuesday , our salesman Jerry was good the orientation was good, but a week later I had a Electrician at our house to install a outlet on our house he had a quick question called service at Augusta and they blew him off I called talked to service the guy was a prick. I am a new customer that haven't ever used camper he spent 5 minutes criticizing my electrical he finally said ok I will maybe try and help him I gave electrician the number and name less than a minute later he called and said I have it figured out. Drove down I-20 and saw Gander from the freeway. I stopped there looking for some outdoor climbing gear. I took a chance to see what the store is like. I believe Gander sells RV, but I didn't go outside to the RV sales department to verify, but just looking at the parking lot, which has a ton of RV. So the inside of the Gander store is very dedicated for the RV owner or potential TV buyer. I walked around the store seeing a lot of inventory geared toward an RV owner. The real surprise was the gun and archery department. From the pictures, Gander has a good selection or Recursive bows and the gun department has pallets of ammunition you can buy. I believe when I was there the busiest department was the gun department. Unfortunately Gander did not have the outdoor equipment I was looking for, but I took a chance after seeing them from I-20. I was kind. of disappointment with their outdoor selection, but thinking back, Gander is catered toward the RV demographic. read more

Easy I. And off the freeway. Even when pulling an RV. They have a full service repair shop. The store area is not fully stocked but they said shipments are coming each week. We called ahead to see if they had what we needed and they did and pulled it aside for us. Employees knew about the products and had suggestions for easy mounting. read more

The sales department is nice as well as the associates. The service department is horrible. We bought a new camper with a few issues that were promised to be fixed- blind wasn't working, problem with the door, problem with lifting part on the bed and the floor was damaged. Two months of having our new camper we were told it was finally ready. Here we are to pick it up and guess what......floor isn't fixed. Was talked down to by the service manager,Travis, who said he isn't responsible for anything. He didn't promise anything and isn't obligated to fix it. Ohh and did you know that humans are involved and they aren't perfect like me. I quickly reminded that I wasn't perfect but honor my promises. Thankfully we have pictures of walk through and pictures today along with it in writing that the floor is to be fixed. Buying a camper? Sales people are great. Having any repairs done? Recommend going somewhere else unless you want to wait months and be talked down to by the man in charge. Have to be fair in saying that the service repair mechanics are nice. CAMPING WORLD WILL FAIL YOUR EXPECTATIONS ...ALWAYS...AND THEN AGAIN DO NOT TRUST THAT THEY WILL HONOR THEIR CONTRACT IF THEY DELIVER A BROKEN UNIT AND THEY WILL STEAL YOUR BATTERIES. We bought a BRAND NEW 2024 East to West to live in while we build our house. We had a great experience with the sales because everyone was on board with this idea and that "So many people are doing this right now." When purchased we planned with management for delivery and setup as we DO NOT have a truck to pull this 42' beast AND have never been in an RV let alone owning one. This salesman and his supervisors promised to deliver, set up, and even have a BBQ with us. So of course, we bought every bell and whistle, every warranty, bonus item, insurance, etc. Plus, we bought 6 Li+ batteries for $7k extra. We were promised that if ANYTHING happened, they would be out to fix it OR pick it up and fix it, return it and set it up again. Upon entering the store you're greeted by a friendly individual who is willing to point you in the right direction or help with whatever she can. The cashier was extremely friendly and informative about memberships, orders, etc. What got me was the actual RV salespeople and sales manager. I was sure that my issue at Giant Recreation world was the worst and i had never seen sales people work harder to lose a deal until this place. All I have to say is WOW! The salesman, Cheyenne, was particularly rude and abrasive. We went in to look at a particular unit and wanted to look at more after being disappointed in the condition. He seemed to be annoyed by that and made it clear that he had another family there that made an appointment. Upon looking at the other campers he treated us as if we were stupid and had not clue what we were looking for/at, clearly not knowing I grew up around these things and have owned previously. He was not knowledgeable and was definitely not eager to assist us. When we went inside to look at the number I asked for the book-out sheet numerous times from the moment we walked in to be sure the numbers made sense. He refused as well as his sales manager even though they both said they had no issue. Before taking the credit app they did not ask for ID verification, for the signer to be there, for anything, they just took it which is a but worrisome because of identity fraud and we could have been lying(we weren't, but could have been). He had no actual verification of identity until we started pointing out the flas in the way they were conducting business. On the paper with the numbers he presented us with a paper that had 3000 down and an almost $1300 prep fee which was triple and double the amounts we had seen elsewhere. We informed him that we had been approved elsewhere with zero down and he started.l spewing the lies. I suppose he either thought we were stupid because we are females or for some other reason but spoke down to us the entire time we were there. Having had my dealer license I am aware of proper protocol when speaking with prospective buyers and with negotiation, credit pulling, etc. and nothing they did was by the book. He also lied about the prices on both the trailers we liked. We asked for another sales person after we had walked away who basically told us to book the travel.trailer out ourselves. Having been in sales almost my entire adult career and previously own dealerships and shops I was not impressed in the least. Hands down, this was the best experience in buying anything in a lifetime. My salesman Matt Green went above and beyond to make sure I was treated like royalty during the whole buying process. I was late for my delivery appointment and Matt/service department stayed late on a Saturday to make sure I was good to go to leave with my new camper. Had issues with the rear of my unit. The service department took care of my issue and I was back on the road the same day.

I have honestly never seen such incompetence (Augusta Ga. Location) They kept my class B Thor for roughly 5 of the first 6 months of ownership for very basic warranty work. They then returned it to me with two dead AGM batteries. The batteries would fully charge and over one night with zero load on them and the battery disconnected they would drop to 12.1v which is less than 45% capacity. When I first took it to them it would not drop at all for weeks (I know this because i had it in my possession for the first month. I could run a plug in heater with auto generator start and it would take 3 hours for the generator to turn on with the AGS set to 12.25. When they returned it to me... It would drop to 12.1 or less within minutes with nothing on it but the fridge!!!! After they returned it to me..2 to 3 days the battery would drop in the 11.2 range which is basically 10% or less capacity. ) These were brand new AGM batteries on a unit that had only been in my possession a few weeks and I always turned the battery disconnect off when not in use. They kept turning it on and drained the AGMs to completely dead for extended periods of time multiple times. They then argued that because they could charge them up to 12.7+v temporarily..the AGM batteries were functioning as normal. Obviously they don't know anything about the units they work on. In addition to this, they lost parts orders from Thor and inferred I wasn't being honest until i finally got Thor on a conference call with the service advisors and Thor had the tracking numbers and delivery signatures...even then they couldn't find the parts and gave me attitude for complaining about the situation. After proven wrong it was all Thor's fault "because they have a new system". In fact, every failure at this location will always boil down to being someone else's fault at this location, no matter how bad the service is.... when you talk to the rep, they will make it someone else's fault. If all that wasn't enough... the customer service person for service inferred/admitted to me on the phone last Friday that the whole "buy at any store and you are covered nationwide" thing is completely false, when I pointed out to her how much i had spent on this RV and she replied with the statement "Not at this location you didn't, we don't even sell that model". The list goes on and on. Ignore the response from management, it is bogus. They will simply say something like "I don't have the authority" and bounce you around from one agent to another until you give up. Which is what I did. I sold my unit with only 1,500 miles on it after they had it for 5 of the first 6 months. It was a class B.. I took a $30,000 loss on it over their incompetence...mostly because I just could not deal with this level of incompetence for years to come and a dealership with competent technicians for Class B units are too far for me to get to regularly in an RV that I would have no return way home for drop offs. If you want into an RV service department do yourself a favor and find a different location...any location, just not that location. Their service department is 100% laser focused on how they can prove they are right and everyone else is wrong and 0% interested in serving customer needs. Don't say I didn't warn you. Signed. This is the Story ( hopefully I can type everything bc it is so much): February 2022, our camper was dropped off to Gander/ Camping World in augusta, ga to have the converter fixed ( which it did get fixed) but we also wanted the floor fixed bc the slide was pushing on the floor so they were going to fix it. Time pasted we called to ck to see if the flooring was in and I think they said it hadn't come in yet fast forward to June when Mike called and they said it had come in but they weren't able to patch the floor that they had to replace the flooring and it had to be done in Columbia. So months past and Bryan at camping world called and said our flooring was in and for us to make appointment to bring our camper in to get the flooring fixed....I called him and say ummmm y'all have our camper ( the forgot they had our camper). So September pasted and I called in November to get an update Bryan informs me that they were waiting on Forrest river to pay for the claim on the flooring....I said y'all have till Dec 1st to get something done or I'm taking further actions. So no word, by Dec 8th I was on the phone with Forrest river they said they hadn't received a claim since June and that it was denied bc the warranty was out . I called Taylor at camping world and informed him about everything that was going on he claimed he knew nothing about the situation. He said he would ck into it and call me back, he called me back telling me that Forrest river said that the flooring was delivered to camping world but camping states that they never received it...I told Taylor I said y'all probably put it in somebody else camper he said oh no wouldn't of done that! So on Dec 31 I made a personal visit to camping to speak to Taylor and Bryan and neither one of them was in so that when I got the number to the camping world headquarters and called them. They made a case # and they said someone would call me. A week later no calls I called them DO YOU SEE THE PATTERN???? IM DOING THEIR WORK FOR THEM!!! Making all the calls to end this for now bc I'm tired of typing I will add to the story later about me calling them today...... I tell you what "DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GANDER/ CAMPING WORLD ( Augusta,Ga) of any kind....they have had our camper since February 2022 ( that's right....just about a year) and they will not call you, you have to do all the calling. When you get a call from them they forget that your camper is with them......I have so much to say about this place it's unreal.....so if I have any friends or family members that can help me with the next step...I've already contacted the camping world headquarters and they are almost as bad! I bought a brand new forest river Microlite last month and had a flat tire. Actually it was a low tire on the way home. Had to drive 73 miles to get it fixed which is fine. Then my trailer tongue, jack intermittently quits working going up. I called them back three times that same day trying to get in and either get it fixed or get an appointment finally at 5:30 PM. Some guy calls me back and we log a ticket that it's there's a problem with it. Yesterday which was February 28 I called them again at 10:30 in the morning, it's now March 1 and no one has called me again so out of four times calling them first to get an appointment or to get this fixed only one time do they ever return my call? Don't normally do this, but I am so pissed at the moment. We bought our first ever camper back in October of last year at Gander Outdoors here in Augusta. Put $4000.00 down after the sales person took us around to look at campers. we found this one we have and he said that our truck will pull it with no problem. We bought it. (Note: we new absolutely nothing about where to find out how much our truck can tow, or what dry weight was, nothing. As a matter a fact our very first camping trip was a total disaster as far as knowledge of the camper and how to set it up.) After one trip to Kansas, (camper learn as you go. So much for the 2 hour instruction that the sales person said we could go through before leaving there. Yeah consisted of 20 minuets. not showing us how to set up or anything.) and one trip to Natchez, our engine light on the truck would come on. So we took the truck in to be checked. Mechanic told us that the truck was fine, although it was a gallon low on radiator fluid and he did not know how that happened because there was no issues with the radiator or the hoses. Out of curiosity I went to Camper Land and asked them if they could tell me how much weight our truck would pull, also told them about the camper we bought. That sales person said hat when we put stuff in it to go camping that we are at max tow weight or over. After calling Camper World in Charleston, as they own Gander Outdoors, to try and trade it in, at this point don't want anything to do with Gander anymore, found out that we would have to put more money down this time than we did the first time, although they will pay off this camper. CAN'T do it. Two days later I get a call from Gander asking if I want to come down and see about trading our camper in. Wondering how they knew anything about us wanting to trade in the camper, we made the appointment. We went to Gander yesterday, April 28th to see what they had to say. The manger of sales met us at the door along with another salesperson that was to take us to look at campers that our truck will pull. Thankfully he was well trained. Found one, started the process of buying it. Was told by the manager of sales that they will do everything possible to get us into the new camper. Well one day later we get a call. They tell us there is nothing they can do unless we put down a down payment. "Not possible, every bit of free money we had went on the down payment of the one we can no longer use. So after taking 2 hard hits to my credit score, putting me to the point I cannot even get my own financing, I still own the camper I cannot pull. My moral to this story is, DON'T BUY A CAMPER FROM GANDER OUTDOORS OF AUGUSTA. The several warranty items I had were a nightmare dealing with the service department (bad scheduling, VERY poor quality work by the techs and an overhaul bad experience). I continue to get the runaround not only from the store but also at the corporate level. It is too late for us, but save yourself! Don't go here!!! We purchased a Forest River Cherokee from Camping World Columbia, SC and got great service. So when our fridge, microwave and fireplace went out during a camping trip, we took our camper to Gander RV (Camping World) Augusta expecting the same great service. In 7 1/2 months the only thing we got from our "service advisor", the store manager and the corporate complaint office was excuses, arrogance and downright lies!! Did we get our camper fixed? They did "fix" our fridge by changing the fuse. When we asked to buy a fuse to have on hand we were told they didn't carry them, that they had just pulled the one they put in our camper from another camper in the yard. The microwave and fireplace are still NOT fixed because in 7 1/2 months they can't quite get the complete part in, just date after date of possible delivery dates! Forest River has told us that there is no part on order for our camper. Never once in any of this mess has anyone from Gander RV apologized for the struggle. Even that small gesture would have gone a long way! we finally just picked up our STILL BROKEN camper after 7 1/2 months! Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else!! read more
