We took our three year old today to see Santa. He was so excited to see Santa and tell him what he wanted for Christmas. And of course he does a three year old thing and freak out when he sees him. The Santa was overall very nice and understanding and tried his best to get our son to smile. He was insisting we be in the photo with our son but I wasn't game on that. The photographer took like 10 photos (just pushed the button). They pick the best one. I just happen to think it was the worst one. He looked horrified. I would of took any other photo but the one I got. I understand it free but it definitely not going to be a photo we send or hang up this year. I was hoping not to have to pay for the mall Santa but it looks like that is what we will have to do. Got a free cup with the photo though! That was cute!

Cabela's Outpost is well...Cabela's. They usually have good deals on bulk ammo, but today was a simple task. Find Sea-to-Summit replacement buckles for my backpack and you would think this would be a fairly simple task. As I walked in, I am looking around for assistance and I walk toward a young lady at the cash register (cell phone glued in hand) and ask for the item as stated above. She proceeds to point me in the direction of Camping and states that I would be able to find it over there(Over there is HUGE!!!). I proceed to said location and see a sign that says Camping and I see camping chairs, camping axes, camping cookwear, nothing in the realm of backpacking. After I go around and around for about two aisles, I see two employees on the floor in the corner just chatting it up (No, can I help you?, Are you looking for something, Sir?). At this time, I am wondering what a dog is thinking chasing it's tail, but I digress. By this time, I being birddogged, by LPs and I am like really...really! After about 20 minutes trying to find my Sea-to-Summit replacement buckles I was about to give up when I found them located on a small section on a wall. Look at said buckles, trying to see if they match my broken ones, LP looks a me, I look at him and proceed to pay for my purchase at the front. Here is the kicker, the buckles are proprietary and did not work with my gear, BUT I will get my $8.95 on return.

You cannot miss this huge structure.

I realize you have to drive up a dirt road west of the Belk shopping center. Look at my picture for the road. It is not a difficult find, but could be confusing for a first-timer. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly dog and a hospital person behind the counter. The location had a small selection of outdoor equipment, but for the size of the store, I thought they did a tremendous of showing a variety of outdoor selection. I was recommended to this store to find climbing equipment and was disappointed in not finding any, but no fault of the store. I noticed that the store had a selection of disc-golf equipment. When I plan to pick up the sport, this would definitely be my first stop. The employees working at the store were top notch in helping me in finding other locations that would have the climbing equipment. I would definitely be back based on their excellent customer service.

Visiting GA for the Christmas holiday and was gifted a paid of On Cloud shoes from Escape Outdoors…read more I needed to exchange the gifted pair for a half size bigger, and a speciality color - the staff went above and beyond to assist in the matter. Despite me living in CO - the team completed the specialty order, emailed an invoice, paid with the gift card, and the shoes arrived within a matter of days. So grateful for the knowledgable staff, who took care of my needs, and followed up multiple times ensuring my order was processed correctly. Thank you & your wonderful staff for taking such great care of my needs! #shoplocal

I want to wake up to the sounds of nature and spend the afternoon on the water. It just wasn't my thing growing up. We lived on a military base, where life was super urban and the Nature Center was a place you went to on occasion. But again, I am trying. I stopped in here after a Sunday brunch and cocktails (see what I mean?). My thought process was that if I expose myself to businesses that deal with the outdoors then maybe it will help me get outdoors more. I went to the golf section first (taking it slow) to check out the apparel. I worked my way around to fishing gear then was sure to check out the knife selection. I must have spent a better part of an hour there. What I like most about this Savannah-based business is the variety of products. There is women's apparel, Yeti coolers, and more. They offer free classes like Fly Fishing 101, where you can learn about fly casting and outfit rigging (no, I don't know what that is). There are private classes you pay for like Fly Tying, Casting, and Fly Fishing School. I am glad they are in the area and maybe, just maybe, they can be the key to me loving the outdoors more.
