If you need ski/snowboarding equipment and you live in Augusta, guess what, this is your ONLY option to shop at. Thankfully, the staff are more than friendly and aim to gain customer loyalty. Another thing I like, they're willing to work with you as far as pricing goes. Both me and my buddy bought our snowboards and boarding equipment here and they gave us huge discounts, as well as great advice. My only complaint is that they don't sell Oakley snow goggles :( They also have a wide selection of aqua sports gear, like SCUBA diving and snorkeling. read more

Neptune ski & dive is a great place place to go if you want to learn to swim, dive, ski. Every one that works there is extremely helpful & knowledgeable. Any thing they sell is serviced there, there prices are very reasonable. When you walk in the door you will meet Betsy who will make you feel like family & help you with whatever you came to purchase, I'm taking diving lessons & the instructors were awesome, they genuinely care about your safety & will work with you if your having a problem with something. As far as purchasing equipment, they will recommend what you should buy and what you shouldn't, they will also tell you why & a lot of the time the less expensive equipment is better to suit your needs, this place of business is fantastic & a terrific learning center. I went there to look into purchasing ski boots for the first time. I had read that to get ski boots in person and have them fitted to you was worth it more so than guessing and ordering some online. The owner assisted me and really spent about an hour making sure they were fitted to me and custom molded to my foot properly. I even purchased a helmet from them because I realized I needed one also and they had a good selection. They're winter gear selection is definitely smaller, but we are in the south where winter doesn't happen much. It did make me very happy to know they do carry some things though. My experience is on the Scuba side. I got the feeling that they were the only Scuba Shop in town and know it. Frankly i found the staff a little uppity. Based on the size of the store their inventory was surprisingly underwhelming, there was little scuba equipment in stock despite it being summer. I was also a little surprised by the pricing on scuba instruction, it was higher than other markets. I found their pricing a little deceptive, they are the only shop that I have experienced that charges for local checkout dives. They are strongly biased towards doing checkout dives at springs in Florida, this doubles the price of the class. i am sure this is better diving for the instructor, however isn't easy on students pocketbooks. I will still give it 3 stars since its clean and offers market average prices on air fills. They do represent some solid gear manufacturers. Also note, this store requires o2 clean cylinders for nitrox fills. Unfortunately they do not offer banked, stick or membrane nitrox. read more

This is Augusta's dive center. They offer the range of recreational scuba training, all the way from Open Water Diver to Master Diver. They offer group classes and private lessons. I've been a customer here for about 20 years. The 2 instructors and the store staff KNOW scuba diving. (If you don't believe me, go by there and ask Ron to explain what defines regulator quality.) Everything they stock is first-rate gear. They will take the time needed to be sure that what you get fits, and they will show you how to use it. In fact, if you buy gear that fits in the store but doesn't work out in the pool, they will trade it for something that works for you - no questions asked. They have their own classroom, and their own indoor pool. The required Open Water training is done at the local lake (about 30 minutes away) and the local river. When these are too cold for comfort, they do Open Water at Ginnie Springs, FL. Furthermore, on request, they will help you set up your open water training dives almost anywhere in the world. They offer affordable local, regional (West Palm Beach), and international scuba travel. These very popular trips sell out fast. This place has been my scuba home-away-from-home, and the staff and fellow customers are like family. read more

I am going on a dive trip and wanted a refresher course so I would feel comfortable. The kind lady signed me up and a week later I was in the pool, however there was some miss communication and what I thought was a course with an instructor ended up being me in the pool refreshing myself with the gear...I was not happy. Ron, I am assuming the owner asked what was wrong and I explained the situation, he asked what I was charged and in the time it took me to change back into my dry clothes he was back with cash in his hand as my FULL refund and an apology. I was in shock, I have never been treated so honestly in any other dive establishment, or any business for that matter. Based solely on how they run the shop I would recommend them and since they are the only shop in Augusta you have no choice, luckily it is a great place. I can't wait to go and rent some gear and hit the lake soon, and maybe even go on a trip with them. read more
