Clean and well organized. Most patrons are well behaved and respectful. I found everything I was looking for.

This library offers a variety of services, some of them anachronistic (DVD collections for loaning) and others handy (their library of things seems to include musical instruments). The wifi just pops on without a bunch of BS, which really should be the standard, and the glassy building offers a view of nearby greenery. The hours are pretty limited, but it makes for a nice stop. read more

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE increase the hours. Kids don't get out until 4pm and it closes at 5pm majority of the week. As a member in the Evans community we should encourage kids to come to the library even teenagers who need a break from studying at home. A public library closing at 5pm is unacceptable. read more

This library is nice in that yes, it's spacious and has many programs that appeal to most locals, and seems to function okay. What I do not like:. Is that you cannot put holds on items thru the Pines app if the item is something they feel will be popular whether or not it's 2019 or 2018. These need to be cleaned up and updated. There is no reason why we shouldn't be able to request a book from first quarter 2018. That's last year. It shouldn't say, this item is too new to have a hold. Next, new releases shouldn't be only 7 days. Sometimes a book travels across the state and takes six months to feel into our hot little hands and then it cannot be renewed. The Request An Item for the collection is a tedious and time consuming process thru the gchrl.org website, or maybe, is that the point? There is no consistent way to check out items, depending who you get. But why do they need a physical card every single time when I have my card memorized or have the library card barcode in the app, that's what it's there for?! The Holds system. In Gwinnett and Atlanta Fulton library systems, the books are contained in a section banded for the patron to pick up. Why do I have to wait and have someone get them from behind the counter? I asked and they said, well, people are nosy and look at whatever others are reading. So be it. Look away. If the title is faced backwards and it's banded with the patron name, why would that be an issue? It would still be within view and then you can reprimand them if you must. Some people have that kind of time?? If bigger metro libraries can make this a success, why can't little old Columbia Co? Better start thinking about, they're moving this way... And plz quit taping the patron's name onto the book cover, you destroy the cover art, it breaks down over time! Put the patron slip in as a bookmark if you must! Wish there was a better process for new releases and general collection development. They might get 10 a week. ? Harlem and Euchee get the rest of the good stuff and you have to go drive all the way over there to get the new release. What a pain. It is not a user friendly system. Please institute a Coming Attractions section for the upcoming releases...might be nice to be able to put a hold on them so you can see how popular a title might be and see how many copies to maybe order dep on $. That's this lowly lil old patron's two sense, for what it's worth. Change is scary, I know. read more

The Columbia County Library is an absolute pleasure to have in the local library repertoire. First off, the Georgia PINES library system is fantastic. Once you become a library card-carrying patron, you now have access to libraries throughout Georgia and the resources associated with them. Did you take out a book in Columbia County but now you're in Valdosta and it's due? No problem, drop it off at a PINES library and your book will make it back to the home library and you won't accrue any fines. Is there a book that you're looking for but you can't find it here at the Columbia County Library? No worries! Request a hold and it will arrive from another library! This library is beautiful. It reminds me of a satellite library on a college campus. There are plenty of study areas, especially downstairs. The Columbia County Library always has free events and classes on various topics each month. Every time I've needed help from a staff member, I was promptly provided an answer or if they didn't know, they sought help to make sure I was good to go. I would say that without a doubt, we're lucky to have this library! read more

I wish all libraries looked like this. The interior is nice, with two floors that are accessible by stairs or an elevator. The downstairs is where I did most of my lurking because there is a sizable fiction section and the DVDs are located there. I liked that you could check out up to 3 DVDs at any time. Near the entrance there is an area of used books. They're super cheap like $2-$5 per book. You got romance novels, fiction, nonfiction, you name it. Proceeds go towards the library. I also like how there is a self checkout, so you can just scan your card and your items. There is even a slot for you to put in your DVDs so that you can unlock the DVDs before going home to view them. The fountain and the jogging path outside is really nice. There tends to be a ton of bugs during the humid months unfortunately but that's ok. It's still really nice out. There's even this mini amphitheater used for outdoor performances. The outside is super picturesque. I really miss this library. I have a lot of good memories from my high school days. read more

Beautiful library. It's two story and they have a large children's section. They have book reading times but we have yet to go. Right outside the library is two large playground areas w/ plenty of seating (covered and uncovered). Right next to the playground is a water play area which is open during warmer months. You will usually find plenty of walkers/joggers here as well b/c there is a small cement path that goes around a pond, 1/3 mile each lap. The playground out back of this library rivals Evans Towne Center Park in awesomeness, particularly because it had a track. While the kids play, mom and dad could get a legitimate workout in. 3 laps on the track equals 1 mile, and it's actually scenic compared to the boring quarter mile tracks that you run around in a high school stadium. read more

All I can say is wow. Such a beautiful and library. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The upstairs is for children and the downstairs was for adult. The people I met was very friendly and helpful. Very friendly environment. I will be cold Ming back a lots to do my school work. If you love book, on the first floor they sell book. They have a huge selection. Stop on by and try it out for yourself. read more

This is such a beautiful library. It literally has something for everyone. If you want to avoid the heat, you can sit on the chairs on the bottom floor and look out the windows which take up an entire side of the building. If it's not too hot outside, you can sit outside on the several benches or on the grass. There's a small track to walk around and a playground with a splash area for the kids. They have a great selection and can get books in from several other branches, so I recommend going online if you can't find it there. The area it's in is nice to drive around, as well. I highly recommend coming here if you need to relax and want to enjoy some peace & quiet. read more

The best place to study in the CSRA. I spend a couple of hours most days in a blue chair downstairs next to the giant window overlooking the lawn reading textbooks. The only knock on this library is I wish they didn't close so early on Wednesdays and Fridays. read more
