Food The quality here has dropped quite a bit since our last visit. Some of the produce on the salad bar was frozen. The croutons tasted bad, the tomatoes tasted like onions. The grilled chicken had a good taste albeit overly seasoned. The accompanying rice pilaf was satisfactory. The petite steak had a good taste, but there was a big section that was just fat. Overall I don't know what's happening here. The overall feeling and vibe is way off. There is an overall feeling of lacking. Lacking quality on the salad bar. True, produce should be chilled. But not frozen. The staff overseeing the salad bar either is absent or just does not care. On the bright side. The music their playing tonight is wonderful. 70's stuff. Sounded very good. It provides an unique environment with a folksy vibe. The railroad car does not look as clean and crisp as their web page photo and it's been painted what appears to be a dark burgundy. It was dark and raining so it's hard to say on the color. Inside is cozy and comfortable. It's a neat venue. The menu consists of typical American comfort food, at least for the south. Three of us us ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, cream gravey and fried okra. The outlier ordered fried chicken livers with French fries and fried okra. All four of us were pleased with our meals. The chicken fry was good as were the potatoes and cream gravey. The fried okra was excellent. The chicken livers were excellent and begged for mashed potatoes and cream gravey. The French fries Ken ordered weren't very good. I think they were under cooked. We had a nice, enjoyable dinner. The service was excellent and the prices moderate

We had couple ribeyes, pork chop, burnt ends, appetizers, plus mac and cheese and grilled cheese for the kids. Great food for super cheap! Let's talk about the ribeye -- the seasoning was absolutely spot on, and the crust/sear on the steak was on point too! The only thing to keep in mind is that the ribeye is on the thinner side. It's definitely not your typical thick-cut steakhouse ribeye. But don't get me wrong, it was still delicious and packed with flavor! The burnt ends were also delicious and probably one of my favorites from the meal. I would order those over and over again! We also got the appetizer -- I believe it was called the Texas Fingers or something similar -- with spicy pickles and cheese curds. It was pretty good and definitely a fun appetizer to share. The restaurant was BUSY! But it had a really cool atmosphere. Being in a small town, it honestly felt like every single person in town was there on Friday night . Now, the reason I'm taking off one star: the service was slow. Our server was nice, don't get me wrong, but she kept forgetting things and wasn't very attentive. We constantly had to wave her down instead of her taking the initiative to check on the table. That part definitely got a little frustrating. Overall though, the food was delicious, the prices were great, and the atmosphere was fun. 4 out of 5 stars! We will definitely be back!

This is for you to share, and they will keep refilling it as long as you empty it lol You then order what you want for your main off the list on the wall. I really can't eat fried food so I went with the salmon and it was cooked to perfection. I also had a side of steamed veggies which they serve with butter and some seasonings on the side so you can do what you want to do with it. Hubby was craving a steak and saw that they had a black Angus 10 ounce sirloin and so that is what he went with and he said it was absolutely fantastic. They have you cut into it to make sure it's perfect before they leave it with you. He also had an absolutely huge baked potato! I feel bad because we really couldn't eat all of this food, it's a lot! And for $57 this is a pretty darn good deal They do not serve alcohol, but you can get iced tea or sodas They have a person playing guitar and singing music, he was actually quite good!
